Person Applying For: Regina Lupin
Bio: Already Done
Roleplay Sample:
If you knew what to look for then you would automatically notice that there was something out of place in the Lupin household. It was a Friday night and Regina Lupin was sitting on the two seater couch at the edge of the living room, an oddity in itself given that she and Remus had taken to sitting in the armchairs by the fire leaving the couch to their youngest child, Julia. If you looked past this, however, you might notice the book that lay open in Regina's lap, her legs crossed on the couch to support it. To most this would not seem unusual, the Lupin's often spent time reading and learning but if you looked close enough you would note that those soft, hazel eyes were stationary, staring at a spot on the floor just in front of her foot, her hands never moving to turn a page.

If you managed to figure most of this out you would realise one thing - Regina Lupin was worried. With a quick glance at the clock she sighed again, it was five thirty and Remus was surely due home from the office within the next hour depending on how much paperwork was to be done. Snapping the book shut she rose from her seat and placed the book back into its position on the large bookcase that covered most of the wall up to the doorway leading into the kitchen. It was then that she noticed a rather shabby photo album open on the table she used for her writing and she smiled softly to herself.

Taking up the seat that had been pulled slightly from the small table she flipped open the album softly, leaning her chin in her hand and her elbow on the table. The first page was littered with pictures of her and Remus, small pictures from their first few months together that Regina had insisted be taken. The album went along like this for a while until she came across a page with one large photo set in the centre, their wedding photo. The same soft smile played on her lips once more as she turned to photo's of Anya, their eldest daughter and to Julia, the youngest of the two Lupin children.

Caught up in her thoughts as she slowly flicked through the album that had documented the last thirty three years of her life she sighed, tweny four years dating and nine years married, and it still felt like yesterday that she had been working at St Mungo's in London where she had met Remus. Stopping at one picture Regina looked down at it, it was the latest picture that she had of the whole family, besides the one that hung in the kitchen. Remus stood in the back while Regina sat in front of him, Julia stood in front of her, every now and then she would move slightly and do something that irritated her sister and all the photo-Regina and photo-Remus could do was laugh.

She sat there, staring at the picture, starting to feel slightly lost now that one of her two children were no longer living at home, the cottage seemed too large, too quiet, there was no child trying to sneak up behind her and scare her, trying to test exactly how she knew who was coming and when. She was so caught up that she didn't hear the front door open and close or the sound of footsteps leading into the living room.

Character Applying for: Nymphadora Tonks

Bio:

Quote:

Name: Nymphadora Tonks
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Blood: Half
Magical Affiliation: Light
Wand: 10" spiralled rowan wand, with firmness varied across length, core of kelpie hairs
Physical Description: (note that Tonks is a metamorphmagus) hair usually pink, eyes usually dark, height normally average, about 5'5".
Personality: Tonks is relatively mischievous for a woman her age, and is best described as quirky and strong-willed. She has a strong sense of justice, and is extremely intelligent, but due to the protection against identification afforded by her metamorphmagus qualities during her school days, she is relatively clumsy and impulsive for a former auror.
Family: Andromeda and Ted Tonks (parents), the Black family.
History: Nymphadora was in Charlie Weasley's year at Hogwarts, rendering her too young to have joined the original order of the Phoenix. While at Hogwarts, she did not make prefect, primarily due to her inability to behave which was partially a result of her abilities as a metamorphmagus. These abilities were obtained at birth and were critical to her development as an Auror, allowing her to be a natural ace at disguises (by contrast, her habit of using her ability alone to get away with mischief hampered her abilities of stealth, due to her clumsiness and small degree of impulsiveness). After graduating, Tonks trained to become an auror, and joined the Order of the Phoenix in the 1990s, applying her impeccable disguise abilities to the service of the Order. After the death of her relative Sirius Black, Tonks continued serving the Order, but ultimately did not take part in the final months of the battle due to her use as a spy, to ensure that the assault on Hogwarts did not meet with any secret weapons or nasty surprises. After the end of the battle, Tonks continued work as an Auror for a short time before embarking on a journey around the world.

Other: Tonks is a Metamorphmagus, which is a birth-granted ability that develops slightly more as a function of creativity than anything else. Because of this ability, Tonks can change her physical characteristics to those of any woman, including hair, eyes, facial features, height, etc. As a side-effect to her overuse of this ability during her years in Hufflepuff, Tonks is notoriously clumsy for a former auror, relying entirely on disguises to remain unidentified when in the presence of determined opposition (as an auror, however, she is capable of passing unnoticed if she is under disillusionment, is lucky enough not to stumble, and is not trying to sneak by people who are paying attention.)

Roleplay sample:
Tonks' hair was a brilliant pink today, matching the sunny mood with which she progressed down the hallway towards the door. How nice of the sun to come out, even on a winter day, she thought to herself as she passed the window next to the door. Instead of stepping out into the world, she gripped her cloak as though hit by a cold gale, concentrated, and disappeared with a crack, flinging herself into the strange world of apparition space.

When she disapparated, she checked her location, nodded to nobody, and chose a direction by memory in which to briskly walk, paying little attention to her current surroundings until she had processed the necessary actions to reach the Alley. Her hair flickered and turned brown, straight, and shoulder-length, her eyes swapping to blue at the same time. Without paying this change any mind, she walked into the area where others would be.

"Good morning, Miss Tonks, what can I get for you?" the barkeep of the Cauldron asked. Tonks blinked slightly, adjusting to her new awareness of the surroundings she had slowly accumulated. Quickly, she parsed her response.

"Water will be fine for now, thank you," Tonks replied, receiving in response a nod and, some short moments later, a glass of water. She settled into reading the notes she had brought along, taking no surprise from the fact that she had left them in her left pocket of her cloak last night and hadn't thought about them until now. She certainly had learned quite a bit during her world travels. Perhaps it was time to share it with others?

Accepted. Please post a hard copy of the bio in the Biography Bastion.

Quote:
Name: Regina Lupin
Age: 46 years old (09/21/1961)
Blood type: Muggleborn
Gender: Female
Wand type: 9", bloodwood, hair of thestral tail core. This wand and its owner have seen death, having worked for a stint at St. Mungo's, and continue to do all they can to prevent it.

Appearance: She is a woman of middle age, with numerous fine lines that show a bit more than the usual worrisome wife and mother. Her short brown hair is kept tidy, and premature streaks of grey are interwoven among what was once a lovely chestnut brown. Muggle clothing is her most comfortable attire, she tends to be fashionable in a very modest way, always matching and looking smart in spite of the fact that her clothes show a bit of age from much use. Her bright blue eyes are often masked behind a set of gold-rimmed bifocals that lend to the appearance of age, though they are simply necessary as her sight had declined in quality. A gold chain can always be spotted around her slender neck, at the end rests her wedding band, the only jewelry she ever seems to wear.

Family: two brothers
Husband Remus Lupin
Daughter Anya Lupin (Deputy Heamistress), Julia Lupin (Hufflepuff)
Grand children Raven Jones(Ravenclaw), Indrick(Ravenclaw) and Marth Mal'Ghanis (Slytherin)

Personality: Regina is young spirited, quick to smile and she tends to mother anyone who crosses her path, young or old. To all the world she is as carefree as the day is long, however she shows signs of aging that betray her constant internal worry for her husband. She is truly devoted to Remus and her children, kind to all and wise beyond her years. Regina, being Muggleborn, is knowledgable about both the wizarding world and the muggle world alike, though she tends to dress as a muggle because then she feels more in her element.

Facts: Regina was not aware of the wizarding world until the age of 12 when she was accepted into Beauxbaton's Academy in France. Having lived among muggles all her life, this came as a very pleasant surprise, and she did all she could to supplement her limited knowledge of the wizarding world through constant study and hard work. She excelled in classes such as potions and herbology, and after awhile her professors noticed her gift for healing. She studied independently with some, often lending a hand in the school nurse's office on minor injuries, colds, and limited spell damage cases.

When she graduated from Beauxbaton's, Regina was offered a job at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries as an apprentice healer. She gladly accepted and spent much time getting to know her patients and raising their morale. It was not long before she was fated to meet her future husband, Remus Lupin, a handsome young scamp who seemed to have a knack for self-injury. Before she knew it he had charmed his way into her heart.

At the young age of 22 Regina was in for a surprise when her first child, Anya, was born. 8 years later Julia was to follow. Several years after their second child, Remus proposed and the two were finally united in marriage.

While Regina learned of Remus's "condition" rather early in their relationship, it took her awhile to acclimate to the situation. In the end she could not deny her heart what it truly desired, however this may have been one reason that the couple delayed marriage for so long. As of now she lives happily with her husband, her children are among the many distinguished at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and on many occasions she rejoins her fellow healers at St. Mungo's to lend a hand where needed, and also sometimes she visits Hogwarts to lend aid to the medical staff should they need it.

Forty-six and still aging. The fact was Regina missed her younger days when her and Remus were unmarried and Anya was their first born and they were trying their hardest to be great parents. She had remembered once when coming home from a long days work finding the house completely baby proof and pointy edges covered in bubble wrap. He had also got rid of the main stairs in the house and replaced it with an elevator just in case when Anya would start to walk she would not fall down the stairs. She had laughed so hard and when she opened her eyes and took a second to breath she found a scowling Remus asking "What are laughing at?" She had not the heart to tell him how ridiculous he was acting and slowly over time he began to cool down. Although it took him a year to take the bubble wrap down and replace the elevator with stairs.

But sadly other then those days when life seemed so hectic and she felt as if her head were pop right off were the days she missed the most. The days of having a job at St. Mungo's instead of just going were needed and sometimes no one needed her for months at a time left her life at a standstill and those were the times she bothered her daughters the most. Just last week she sent her daughter Julia eight letters in a single day because she was not replying fast enough. She felt like a drag and it was fatal to bother Anya especially at this time of the month and the same went with her husband.

So lately she had decided to try something new maybe even get a masters degree at a muggle university because she went far enough int the world of healing. Although maybe time would change and she would figure out that this journey she was putting herself through was only her mid-life crisis and that eventually her emotions would bubble down and she would be happy with life as she once was.

Though since that day was not coming anytime soon Regina sent a letter to her daughters telling them that Sunday dinner was back on for the first of next month. She had canceled it a couple of weeks ago because she was frustrated at the time with Remus and did not want her kids to see the two of them in that state.

Accepted. Though you may want to update the age. That was an old bio, so she'd be about 47 going on 48 now. ;)
