He pointed to his blackboard and started to write his new lesson. Today, we are going to practice turning inanimate objects into living, breathing, beings. The general focus will be on the transfiguration of the vertebrate. As with attempting any spell, concentration and knowledge are essential in order to obtain the desired result. When performing a spell where the result will be an animal with vertebrae, it is important that you are familiar with the physical appearance of that animal. It is almost impossible to change a key into a chimera if you do not know what one looks like. Visualization is important in this sense; as you perform the spell, you must visualize the end result in your head. If you are unsure or your focus falters, the result could be disasterous. Aside from being familiar with the physical appearance of the creature, it is just as important, if not more so, to be familiar with its behavior. Many foolish wizards and witches have transfigured objects into animals, such as lions and quintapeds, without so much as a second thought to their natural instincts. As we know, lions are not the most docile of creatures and quintapeds have a particular fondness for human flesh. I'm sure you all can imagine how those encounters ended.

He continued with his lesson and said: The vertebrae, which act as the skeletal blueprint for any given animal, must be complete and wholly connected in order for the rest of its working parts, such as the organs and tissues, to be held in place. For example, a brush is transfigured into a cow but due to poor concentration, the cow ends up with no head. All the organs found in that part of the body (i.e., the brain, eyes, tongue, and teeth) wind up on the floor. Why? Because the skull was not there to hold it in. And because the cow had no head and no brain, its body could not function properly, thereby leaving you with a dead cow and a rather unpleasant mess to clean up. On your desks, you will notice a basket with both beans and oranges in them. We will be turning the beans into beetles first and once you feel confident with beetles, you'll move onto transfiguring an orange into a parakeet. The incantation for the beetle is Escarabajo. The pronunciation is es-car-ah-BAH-ho. Try saying it now. Escarabajo. The second incantation for the parakeet is Oiseau Petit. The pronunciation is way-SO pay-TEET. Repeat after me. Oiseau Petit. Good. The actual wand movement is a small circular flick. Remember, visualization is extremely important! Practice reciting the spells until you are comfortable with them. From there, spend a few minutes visualizing. Only when you are ready, then attempt the spells. Beans to beetles first, though! I will be walking around the classroom to check on your progress. Only after you demonstrate to me your grasp of Escarabajo may you move on to Oiseau Petit. I do not expect perfect spells cast on the very first try, yet I do not expect completely half-hearted and mindless attempts either. It is important that you become comfortable with the visualization and concentration aspects of this lesson, as in the next one, we will be moving on to larger and more complex vertebrae transfigurations.

uh *nervously look at the bean* do we have to change it into a beetle? *thinks to herself, i don't like beetles* Escarabajo *but it wasn't pronounced wrong and bean lit on fire* ugh *she tries to put the fire out*

He looked at Ms.James and noticed that she was complaining about beettle. Professor Drubsky look at her and said: "If you dont like your beetle, maybe can I show you how to turn your bean into frog or maybe a Cobra or Hiena or Lion or something like cockroach or flea or mosquito. What you think? Take your pick either beetle or one of those animals?" He continued walking around the class. ---------Professor William Drubsky-----------

Haley looked at her pathetic looking bean. She pulled out her was. "Escarbajo!" She said. he bean spouted six legs and started to scuttle away. She caught it and placed it back onto her desk.
"Escarabajo" She said. This time the bean turned into a full beetle.
*mei didn't know those spells so she sighed and looked at the bean and focused on a beetle* Escarabajo *the bean started to inch around* argh stupid bean Escarabajo *misses* stay still Escarabajo *starts to get frustrated* *grabs a new bean and leaves the other one to inch around* *she took in a deep breath and closed her eyes* Escarabajo *she opened her eyes to see a beetle with the beans coloration* close enough *finds something to trap it with so she didn't have to look at it*

*walking around, impressed by most of the students* "Hey well...it looks like you guys got the right idea!" *strolls up to Ms. Gordon's space* "outstanding Ms. Godron....you dont mind do you?" *marks off a A for Ms. Gordon. Grabs her beetle and marches to the front* "This, class, is how it SHOULD look. I see that some of you have six legged beans, or beans with eyes and wings. Now, I know these would probably make cute little pets...or even good meals! But i advise you not to eat them. Not pleasant." *smiled, and returned the beetle to Ms. Gordon*
*mei reached for an orange but moved out of the way of the bean inching along* *she placed it in front of her, liking parakeets alot better she smiled* Oiseau Petit *the orange didn't change much but it was making a chirping sound* aleast it's better than the beetle *she reaches for another orange and tries again* Oiseau Petit *this time the orange changed into an inanimate bird shaped orange with orange skin as feathers* getting better . . . i guess
