Fourth and Fifth Years: Class Four

It was time for the last lesson of term, and Azar was considering a practical lesson again. It had been a while, and he'd deviated from his usual pattern ever since the injury of the first lesson, but with little left to teach in the term he was now trying to decide whether to risk it or not.

Sitting behind his desk, he flicked through a number of parchments as he often did, each a possible topic for the lesson. As he went, he put them to a side, based on whether they were feasible ideas or not. The pile to one side would get smaller as he went, until he'd be left with single sheet. He still had five different choices for now though, so as he waited for students to arrive, he spread them across his desk, trying to decide what to cover.

Elesy was really excited Today, it was coming nearer the end of term, which meant that, there would be some free time on hand. Elesy had gotten up earily. Elesy headed straight to the class, on time, for once. Elesy entered the classroom. "Hello." Elesy said, as she walked to the other side of the classroom, and took a seat in the front row, on the end.

Elesy looked around, she was the first in class. Elesy smiled to herself, she was really excited, although a little sad, now that she was thinking about it. Elesy liked classes, just she hated being late. Elesy shoved the thought aside though. She hoped though that class would begin in a short while, when more students were there.[/font]

Lizzy was getting a bit anxious as she walked towards Defense Against the Dark Arts. It would be their last lesson before the exams. Sure it wasn't like it was her OWL year, but she was nervous that she'd fail. Though considering that she was the main one to answer in class and the one that knew most of what they were learning by already reading through the textbooks and reading up on subjects that interested her she was always worried she'd forget something.

As she entered the class she saw she was the second to arrive, and that El had just hardly arrived. Smiling she went up to El where she jumped a bit and put her hands like they were claws, "Rawr, I'm a dinosaur." she said giggling. She was in an odd mood, as shown, as she sat down and pulled out parchment, ink, and a quill for class.

The last lesson of the term for Defense Against the Dark Arts. Normally, she would be excited because, well, it's the last class. This term was an exception; however, because she would have to do her O.W.L.'s at the end. Something she definitely was not looking forward to.

Slipping into the room, she saw that she was the third to arrive. Not bad, if she did say so herself. Both Slytherins and both a year below her. Giving them each a smile and a nod to the Professor, Avery took a seat near the back. Hopefully they'd get to actually perform some spells today. That was her favourite part about classes.

There wasn't much for Nathaniel to do besides attend his classes today. Already things with Alessa have settled down with Amanda's help. And now he needed to find Xiomara since he hadn't talked to her in awhile. Hard to keep up with his female friends, they're all scattered, and he's just only a guy! Hmph. Nathaniel couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Maybe he should hide.

But that wouldn't do if he was going to Defense Against the Dark Arts. He entered the classroom, only noticing a couple of his own housemates, a year lower than him, and Avery. He didn't mind the professor nor the Mihael after the incident with the gossip article. He quietly took a seat toward the back, but distanced away from Avery.

Amanda whistled her way down the halls to her next class. Defense Against the Dark Arts wasn't her strongest subject, but at least she tried. She really tried to understand the spells they learned and tried practicing them on her own. But there are times where she has her glorious moments. Rarely. But nevertheless, she tries! =)

Just before she entered the classroom, she rummaged in her bag for wee little cough drop, something to soothe her hacking that had been going on for the past couple of days. Darn that icky cold that suddenly struck her. You'd think she'd get it during winter, but no, it normally happened near the end of summer and around fall.

Finally popping a strawberry flavored cough drop, adding a cough here and there, she entered and smiled to the professor. Then turning down one of the aisles, she sees Nathaniel and Avery, not acknowledging the other two since she really doesn't know them very well. Well except for Elesy maybe. She smiled to both Avery and Nathaniel, taking a seat infront of the Slytherin, and leaving her bag to the side as she faced forward.

The Slytherin entered the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and sat down at the back or the room. She said 'hi' to Jade and El before getting out her parchment and quill. The Slytherin didn't know what they were doing but whatever.

The last class had gone...erm...okay. But she couldn't be sure. She couldn't remember what they did afterall. Oops. Is that even a good thing? Was she suppose to remember what they did? What had happened to her memory?

Spending most the afternoon at the lake, Eric had just returned to the school. Glancing at the time, Eric figured he might as well head to DADA class. It was, after all, the last one before exams. This would give him a chance to study a bit more. Besides, he had nothing better to do. It wasn’t as though he could hang out with his friends. He had Briony weren’t really speaking and Carina had been scarce.

When he got to the class room he opened the door and walked in. He looked around and realized he was on time for once. Eric did not see anyone he knew in class so he took a seat in the last row and waited for the teacher to start class.

"Right," Azar stood up, happy with the decent number of early students. Clapping his hands together to draw attention he started the lesson on a key item, "Exams. Now I'm setting two seperate exams, one for each year. The fourth year one will be simpler, covering in the main topics from this term. For the fifth years however you will have an exam which can contain questions on anything from your five years of Hogwarts education. Passing the exam will be required for me to recommend you to graduate, unless there are extenuating circumstances, in which case you should talk to me as soon as possible.". His rather daunting speech over, Azar turned to the board and wrote up a summary of what he had said.

Will be tested on material from any of their five years of Hogwarts education. A pass will be required for recommendation to advance a year.

Will be tested on material primarily from this term, with occasional parts on simpler past topics. A pass will be required for recommendation to advance a year.

"The exams will be in place of next lesson. Any questions?". Smiling and crossing his arms, Azar awaited any queries, hoping there would be some to allow late pupils to catch the start of the lesson proper.

Violet entered the classroom and immediately noticed the board sign. Exams already? she thought to herself. The Ravenclaw had...things going on lately that she had been gone for a long time. That happens to her and Violet didn't know what to do. Again. Violet guess that she could ask for help from her cousin and PM her or something. Violet really needed to catch up if she would want to pass.

She had been running behind all day, so it wasn't really a surprise that Briony was late for DADA. Normally her internal clock kept her perfectly on time, but after waking up late it had been off. Nothing she could do about it though. Walking into the DADA class room, Briony gave the Professor an 'I'm sorry' smile.

Taking a seat next to Eric, once again, only for the simple fact she had always sat beside him, Briony dumped her bag on the floor. Digging around in it, she resurfaced with a pen, a piece of parchment and her text book. She then, took a moment to copy down the notes on the board about exams.

Oh exams! Exciting. Amanda listened as he explained the two separate exams he'll be giving both years. Those lucky fourth years, they don't have to remember all that they've learned since their first year. She frowned, making a note to herself to brush up on the topics they've learned in the past five terms, and perhaps practice the spells too.

So she had until the next lesson to do all of this. Major studying!? Was that Amanda? Oh no, but she'd have to do it anyway. Glancing around, she wondered who could be her study partner, or group! Easier done with a few heads than just one.

[Holden J. Caulfield]

Holden had walked into his Defense of Dark Arts classroom a bit late. He hadn't known there was going to be a lesson today. Grawr. The Hufflepuff start shaping up or else he was going to fail then he would probably cry. Bleh.

The boy spotted Avery and sat down next to her. His class buddy. Holden gave her a kiss on the cheek like he always did when they were sitting by each other. "Hey," he smiled at her. "What is the professor going over?"

The Hufflepuff got out his book, parchement, and a quill. He looked to the board and then to the teacher.

Lizzy sat and listened to the professor as he talked. Fifth year was what she really needed to focus on. Reviewing notes from the past five terms would be what took most of her time next term so it was smarted to pay attention now.

As Amanda entered the room after Nathaniel, she smiled at her in return. Then began listening to the Professor. Oh dear. Exams. That was scary. Normally Avery wouldn't be as worried as she was, it was just for the fact that this year was her O.W.L.'s, so that was all big and important. Holden came in and gave her a kiss, and she smiled back at him and said, "Hullo, dear." Nodding towards what the Professor had written on the board, she shrugged and commented, "He's just explaining how our exam will be. Creepy, no? I'm gonna have a lot of studying to do..."

Astrid couldn't remember anything that she had learned in her previous years of school. She gently bit her bottom lip as she tried to remember, and began scribbling the information down on a sheet of parchment. She was determined to pass this term and be promoted to the next. She had already been held back once, which definitely did not look good, especially since she was a Ravenclaw.

Brayden entered the Defense Against the Dark Arts room with a sigh. He was late, but only slightly. By accident, he had gone to the Potions room. But he had potions after DADA...not before. Stupid mistake.

He sat down at an empty seat and pulled out a piece of parchment a couple of quills. Brayden began to scribble down what was on the board;

He had missed a couple of lessons, but a night with his herbology text book and possibly a chat with one of his classmates could help him catch up. He wasn't too worried.

Kaelyn walked into the room and shut the door behind her, rolling her eyes at her late-ness. She'd set out early today too. She'd really have to work this year if she wanted to pass. Luckily she was alright with most of the Defense Against the Dark Arts material.

She was alright with most stuff unless it involved waving about her wand in a clever way. She'd meant to get a new wand two terms ago. Why was she always so behind? And she had started this term so well, too.

Taking a seat she glanced around. It looked like she hadn't really missed much at all. Though that didn't mean much when she had already missed the past two classes. She combed her fingers through her hair, suddenly overwhelmingly nervous. She was a prefect. She couldn't fail.

Elesy was so lucky, she could remember all of the spells, and, everything, but, that was going to mainly be next years problems. Elesy smiled, as she wrote down notes.

Elesy kept replaying in her mind what she had learned in the last four terms,and, also other stuff, because, it was important to her. Elesy kept her mind on topic though, as she looked at the board, without a single blink, and, she smiled.[/font]
