Nyna rushed into the room, fuming. As a fourth year, she hadn't been very good at getting to classes on time. In her second year, she'd been fine with it. She got there way on time. But now... No! She wasn't changing! No!
She took a seat by herself at an empty table, not that she was anti-social or anything. She didn't know anyone, really, and didn't feel like talking to strangers right now. Potions were her main concern anyway. She glanced up at the board for a moment before beginning her cauldron.
She heated her cauldron and waited patiently (almost) for two minutes. In the meantime, she gathered the ingredients on the board. She used scales to weigh them out quickly, then added three ounces of the screechsnap. Then, handling the rat tail as if it was diseased, she slid it into the potion. After, she quickly stirred it six times clockwise, making sure not to go even a little bit over or under exactly six rotations.
She handed the puffapod seeds, and the hellebore, and slipped them at the same time into the cauldron. Another four stirs counter-clockwise and she had to glance back up at the board. She nodded, taking it in and trying to remember it as best as she could. Between two fingers, she broke off a sprig of peppermint and then spun it between the fingers and dropped it into the mixture.
And then she got to wait. And wait. And wait. Darn. After three minutes on the fire and ten (long) minutes off, she put it in an empty vial. Smiling a little to herself, she brought it up to the Professor's desk. She gave the smile to her and then went back to her seat to wait until she was dismissed.
