5th years - Lesson 2 [F. Cucumber/F. Geranium]

After his last class this morning, which ended at ten, he began cleaning up and preparing for his fifth years. He left the door open as the rest of the fourth years left, leaving him by himself as the air continued to cool his classroom. With a wave of his wand, the board erased all the notes, and today's plants appeared. Timothy went to put away the box of bouncing bulbs and came back out with a tub of plants.

The tub included both the fanged cucumber and geranium. It was the second time he would be giving a lesson on these plants, but he enjoyed this part of the lesson. Also it would be short and sweet. Hopefully by ten-twenty-five the fifth years would arrive. Until then, Timothy took a seat at his desk to rest a bit.

So morning classes was fine, even if it was an early start to wake up to. Amanda, however, was more excited for her next class, Herbology. Not only was it taught by her favorite professor in the school, but she loved plants...literally. Not only that, but the freedom they have in class to replant, learn, and sometimes have fieldtrips around the school grounds.

She entered the greenhouse during the mid-morning, as the rest of the fourth years left, and she beamed to Professor Linn. "Hullo professor!" She smiled as she went to take a seat near the front. Glancing to the board, she noticed today's two plants that they would be learning about. "Oh! Fangs!" She stood up in her chair to look inside the tub. "Hm, do we get to actually.. you know.. touch'em?"

Promises, promises. Nathaniel didn't mind going to Herbology, oh no. It was just the early part that he didn't like. It was too early in the morning, but he felt that he needed to be up around five before the sunrise. He had jogged several miles, returning for a short breakfast, and then showering in his dorm. It was beginning to become a daily routine to get his strength back, also practice for quidditch.

Leaving the dorm, he rushed off down the halls to his first class of the day. It was rather dismal, but at least he looked forward to one class. And after class and around around the school grounds, he went to the greenhouse. Nathaniel entered inside and nodded to the professor. "Hullo." He said rather gruffly and went to take a seat next to Amanda. "Looks like it'll be an exciting lesson today." Looking to Amanda, he grinned sarcastically to her.

Amanda smiled as Nathaniel entered the classroom. He always looked like he was grumpy, especially in the morning. But it wasn't that early in the morning, just late! She smiled as he joined beside her at one table and nudged him as he did. "Oh come on Goon, you love this class." Winking at him, she took out a piece of parchment paper, quill, and ink bottle.

"Plus, it's just cucumbers and geraniums. Foods and flowers! With fangs. Rawr!" She growled at him and laughed. Amanda jotted down the two plant's names on her piece of parchment paper and then set her quill aside.

[Avery Moretti]

Avery was excited to go to Herbology once more. She'd had a lovely breakfast this morning and went through her first classes fine. Now it was about 10-something; time for Herbology. Strolling into the classroom, she smiled at the Professor, giving a nod of 'hello' to both Amanda and Nathaniel. She saw them in all her classes, and they seemed interesting, but she'd never hung out with them outside of class.

Sitting in an empty seat, she twiddled her thumbs, humming quietly to herself as she looked at the interesting plants on the desk. Hopefully, the lesson would be fun. Plus, she thought she actually recognized the plants, so maybe she'd be able to answer a few questions. :] Sitting patiently, Avery wondered whether Levi or Holden would arrive soon so that she wouldn't be so bored.

[Astrid D'aubigne]

Ah, Herbology. One of Astrid's favorite classes. She enjoyed it because she liked finding out the various uses that different plants had, especially what kind of medicines each one could be used for. She walked into the classroom and took a seat, not bothering to glance around the room. She already knew that she didn't know anyone there, and it would only be a waste of time to scan the room.

[Holden J. Caulfield]

Holden walked into his Herbology class. He wasn't a big fan of plants and didn't want to be here. It was way too early to be learning anything about green stuff and what plant kills who. Just wayy too early in the morning. Holden took a seat and sat down. He put his head on the desk and closed his eyes. The fifth year didn't get much sleep last night and wanted to sleep.[/size]

Her-bo-lo-gy, Herbology! This would be his first class since he was promoted to a fifth year. Yegh, he really started to feel old now! How long would it take before his hair would start to turn grey, or worse.. fall out? Okay, maybe he was a bit overreacting, being a fifth year wasn't thát old, I mean.. two years still to go and a whole life time of living after that! One thing that was scaring him a bith were the O.W.L.S. he was going to make by the end of the year. Levi knew that he would practically have to live in the library if he wanted to get some E's or O's.

BAM! Suddenly the fifth year stood still. It took him a while to realise what had happened. He hadn't really been paying any attention to his surroundings during this walk towards the greenhouse, and now he had bumped into some three that was standing in his way. He felt his forehead, it didn't hurt that much, but it would probably become as red as a tomatoe and if he was lucky a whole mountain would start groing there too. He never thought that he would be going to admit this, but Levi was thinking too much for his own good.

As Levi entered the greenhouse he held his right hand upon the place where his head had just hit the three, as he didn't want everybody to see the result of his stupid action. Quickly Levi sat down next to Avery. "Hi hi!" He greeted her, as he put his bag upon the empty table. "What's wrong with Holden?"[/color] Levi asked, while nodding his head towards the spot were Holden was sitting/lying.

[Avery Moretti]

Avery was bored all by herself, but when she saw Holden enter the room, she smiled at him. Unfortunately, he made no contact with her whatsoever and sat down at a desk, proceeding to close his eyes and look as if he was about to fall asleep. She got a pain in her heart when he did this, very hurt by the fact that one of her best friends would do such a thing. He'd been acting so distant lately and she was getting extremely worried about him.

Sighing, she looked away from him, then looked at Levi as he sat next to her. Giving him a smile, she said, "Hello!" before her smile faltered when he mentioned Holden. Shaking her head back and forth slightly, she sighed a bit and said, "I'm not sure. He's been distant from me and Jackson lately..." Frowning, she looked at Levi, still wondering what was wrong with Holden. Did her and Jackson do something wrong?

Selena saw that she wasn't late and sighed in relief as soon as she got to the door. She had personally thought she was going to be tardy because of a last minute schedule change but made sure it didn't faze her brain. At least what's left of it.

Selena quickly took her seat in her little 'emo' corner and took out her necessary supplies. She then started to draw in her familiar sketchbook quietly until class started.

Levi nodded in understanding as Avery told him about Holden. Yeah, now that she mentioned it, Levi hadn't really seen Holden around Avery and Jackson lately, nor had he spoken to him. "Have you got any idea why he should do that? It seems like he's pretty down at the moment." Levi said, hoping that Avery wouldn't mind discussing the matter, as the look on her face wasn't that happy after all. He put his both hands on the table, as he started to get tired by covering up his forehead, reveling the great red circle.

Anyways, maybe they could find a way to cheer Holden up a little. Levi had no idea what he could do though. Usually Holden was the one who was doing all sorts of crazy stuff and now Levi felt that if he'd try to cheer him up, they would only be bothering him. "Maybe we should make him a cake." Levi mentioned. "Cakes always cheer people up!" He told, hoping Avery would appreciate the idea. They could at least try to get Holden back to the good old him.

[Avery Moretti]

For a moment, she didn't respond to Levi's question, thinking of an answer. He was a good friend of hers, so she didn't feel hesitant about telling him anything, she just wondered if Holden would mind. He might get mad at her for saying things to someone else. Taking a deep breath, she leaned in close and said quietly, "Well, my best girl friend, Jessica, is his girlfriend. But... she disappeared. So he might be depressed because of that." Biting her lip, she glanced to her friend, hoping he was okay. She missed Jessica, too, everyone did.

At Levi's suggestion, Avery giggled a little. "Brilliant! I knew you were my friend for a reason." Smiling at him, she hoped Holden did hear his plan. If it was a surprise, it'd be so much better. With a hushed voice, she whispered to him, "Okay, why don't we meet in the Kitchens sometime. We'll bake the cake and invite Holden down to have a little chat or something. Then, surprise, a get well soon cake! I think he'd like that." Avery was very excited. There was nothing better than cheering your friend up. :]

Levi nodded, so that was what was bothering his friend. He felt bad that he couldn't do anything that would really help Holden, but by baking him a cake Avery and he would at least show Holden that they were there for him. It better had to be a good cake, 'cause otherwise it'd all turn out real bad. Levi hoped that Avery had some good cooking skills, as it was pretty dangerous to let Levi be the chef =D. Not that anyone has ever been killed by one of his dishes - yet. >:}

He leaned a little bit closer to Avery, so that Holden wouldn't hear their conversation [It would be so much cooler if Holden didn't knew what was going on by forehand] and replied. "Great idea! We could go to the kitchens after our last class today. You know how to bake a cake?" Levi asked. If Avery wasn't a good cook either they could either give Holden a not-so-tasty/destroyed cake, or they could ask for elves to help them out a little! Wasn't there a spell to help you baking a cake?

[Avery Moretti]

With a nod, she said, "Sure. I'll meet you there. And I've never really baked one before. I'm a good cook, if I have a recipe. Maybe before going down to the Kitchens, I'll stop by the Muggle Electronics Room and look for a good recipe on the internet. Then I'll print it out and go meet you. Sound good?" Smiling, she thought their plan was pretty good. Maybe Jackson would like to help bake it too. She'd have to ask him about it later.

Finally seeing the big red mark on Levi's forehead, she furrowed her brow a little bit. Reaching out, she touched it ever so softly with her hand, feeling that a bump was forming. Lowering her hand, she looked at her friend and said, "What in the world did you do? Your forehead is all red and there's a bump growing out of it." Hopefully he wasn't too hurt, since he didn't seem to be registering that it was very painful.

Levi was getting pretty excited.. baking a cake should be fun. If it didn't turn out as badly as his search for his missing History of Magic book at least. "Perfect! Then maybe I can check the library for some spells to give it a little extra.." Levi said. "Don't worry, I won't be preforming them. I was hoping you could do that!"[/color] He quickly added as he thought to spot a slightly worried expression on Avery's face. Yeah, maybe it was better if Levi stopped preforming spells outside of the classroom, judging by the way his last spell had worked out.

His cheeks turned red of embarrassment as Avery mentioned the bump on his forehead. He didn't feel like making up a story so that she would think he was slightly less stupid then he actually was, as Avery already knew that he wasn't the brightest person walking around on this globe. "Oh this?[/color] Levi to speak casually as he pointed at his forehead. "It's nothing, I just ran into a three on my way to here."[/color] Oh yes, it sounded really dumb, but it had been a dumb action.. at least it was only the truth.

[Timothy Linn]

Many have arrived this time for his second lesson this term. Timothy felt rather proud of his newly promoted fifth years. Not that he ever felt doubtful about the group he first taught when he arrived at Trio's. After everyone got into a seat and chatted a little bit, Timothy glanced at the clock, and felt that it was finally time to begin today's lesson.

"Morning everyone! Hopefully it was a good one. And no Amanda, you don't get to touch them, unless you want to." He winked at her. "Anyway, today's lesson is on a Fanged Cucumber and a Fanged Geranium. Nasty plonkers if you ask me, but very interesting to look at. Plus, there really isn't alot of background information about these plants, but we'll enjoy it either way." He grins. "So if you gather around the table, I'll let you have a peek at'em."

[Avery Moretti]

Grinning at Levi, she nodded her head. "Sounds good to me." Nodding her head, her eyes widened a bit at the thought of Levi using a spell on a cake. She could just imagine all of their hard work exploding and sending icing and stuff everywhere. Gulping, she said, "And yeah, I should probably be the one to use the spell. After the book incident, you're banned from using magic anywhere outside of class." Avery smirked, chuckling a little bit.

Seeing Levi embarrassed made her grin. It was fun to embarrass people. Snickering at what he said, she raised her eyebrows. "Ran into a tree, huh? That's pretty... Levi-ish." She laughed again before the Professor began talking, so she looked at him to pay attention. Getting up from her desk, she stood at the table where the plants would be uncovered. She wondered if they were scary with giant fangs and stuff and ate people. That'd be creepy.

[Selene Falicon]

Selene ran into the classroom, late just like her habit had started. Everyone was heading over to the table by the professor, so Selene joined in as well. She walked over, books still in her hands. She took one look at the plant and muffled a squeal with her hands. She hadn't been expecting what she'd seen, and it looked pretty dangerous. She took a step back so that the others could look as well.

As Avery got up and walked towards the front of the class, Levi quickly got up as well and followed her. Her reaction to the three incident was ok. So yeah she had grinned, but he had expected her to do so. At least she hadn't bursted into laughing causing everybody else to turn around and stare at him and his big red bump. "Yeah, you can laugh." Levi told her as they walked. "You won't be having company of a bump for at least two weeks."[/color] Aww. Poor little Levi. xP

As they gathered around the table, he started to wonder about the plants. They sounded pretty scary with their fangs and stuff. But maybe they'd just be some cute little misunderstood creatures. Who would tell? Certainly mister Timothy Linn would. =] [/font][/size][/color]

Only Amanda could make him laugh with such nonsense. Her attitude was always chipper than his, and she constantly had something up her sleeve to comment on anything. "Fangs." He rolled his eyes as the class finally began. Glancing to Professor Linn and the box, Nathaniel stood up like the other students to gather around the table to look at the plants.

They looked so normal to him, especially the cucumber. "Professor, they look normal. Can you still eat it? The cucumber that is." He asked.
