OOC: No biggie.
"Do I not like cats?" Sev glanced back at Ally. "It's not that I don't like them, it's just that we don't know where that one has been. I just didn't want to trust it, you know?" He pulled her up to stand and smiled. "But now we don't have to worry about it. Let's just get out of here." He began to turn toward the stairwell so they could head out.
He stopped as soon as he heard the second noise and whipped his head toward the sound. His heart skipped a beat. The cat was definitely not where the sound came from. There was something else. Sev took a couple of steps away from that direction, gripping his wand so tightly, it was a surprise it didn't snap in half.
They weren't alone. Sev glanced back at Ally. Could they run out of that house fast enough to not worry about it or could curiosity bring them further into the Shack. It was risky, but Sev was curious to know everything about this house. He stood still, silent, waiting to here wat Allison wanted to do.
"Oh," She replied simply, brushing off her jeans. You would be surprised how much dust their was on the wooden floor. "I don't mind cats, but I don't really enjoy them either." She added, looking up at him with a smile. Ally nodded as he stated that it was time to depart the creepy building. She followed him to the stair case, but that's about as far as they got.
Allison could feel her body shaking from tension. What could it be now? Curiosity gripped at her but another part was telling her to run for it. Temptation to flee was great but she stood where she was, wanting to finally see what else was up in the Shrieking Shack. She swallowed hard, her breathing coming at uneven intervals. Her eyes caught Sev's as she debated what she wanted to do. To flee or to explore.
She took a lungful of air in to calm herself, not that it helped too much, and smiled slightly. "Want to see whats really up here?" She whispered, afraid to speak as it was. She gripped her wand even tighter as yet another crash was heard from down the long hall. Her head turned sharply, the smile vanishing, as she turned toward the sound. What ever was there with them did not mind letting it's presence known to them.

Of course Sev wanted to go up there! He wanted to search each and every square inch of this house and learn about its history, why it was here, what it was used for, and why it is now off limits. He was always curious to learn more about the things around him and he would not let some scary noises stop him. He glanced around trying to guess where exactly the sound came from. He tried to think of what it could possibly be when there was another crash.
Still unable to deduce what the sound could possibly be, Sev began walking toward where he thought the sound was coming from. "How are you feeling?" he asked Ally. If she was feeling all right and she really wanted to explore more, Sev would not argue. If she was absolutely terrified by all the noises and did not want to spend a second more, Sev would not argue either. He stopped and turned toward her, staring at her and waiting to here any reason to or not to go ahead and find the source of the noise.
Apparently that was a yes as he began to make his way forward, in search of the noise. Ally too was drawn toward the noise and yet she could still hear common sense ringing softly in her ears. Why was she so afraid? She had been through worse before, this should be easy for her to go exploring around an old house. With new determination she also began to glance around, trying to determine the location from where the sound was being conjured from. Not an easy task.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine," She replied with a small smile as he paused and turned to her, "Let's go find out what trouble there is here." She added, her smile widening. She was not going to be the person to deny Sev an adventure after so long of being protected and sheltered. Her smile began to dim as she looked in search for the noise once again. She took a few steps forward so that she was even with Sev. "This way you think?" She asked, her voice still quiet as she pointed in the direction that she was indicating ahead of them.
Post by cremefilled on Oct 27, 2007 16:12:44 GMT -5
Sev nodded when Allison suggested they keep going. She was glad that she was still up for the adventure. Moving forward, he kept his wand out in front of him just in case. Just in case. There could be much worse things than just a cat. Feeling his body get more tensed with every step, he was relieved when Allison seemed to want to take charge now.
"Sure," he said. "We'll go that way." Then he began to follow her this time, constantly checking behind them to see if anyone/thing was following them. As they continued forward, he could see a door ahead. He nodded toward her, acknowledging that he wanted to go through it and then went to open the door.
Ally gave him a quick smile before vanishing and turning back into a serious expression. She pointed her wand ahead of them, griping it tightly as she did so to be greeted by a painful protest from her hand. She shrugged it off and continued to make her way down the hall. Her eyes darted all around, constantly searching for any sign of trouble or the source of the noises.
Her mind began to wander off a bit as she imagined what or who could be up here. She gulped down the ideas she came up with and continued on, not really wanting to think of that at the moment. Her eye caught on a door and debating whether to enter it or not, she turned her head back to Sev. With a nod from him, she gave one of her own and proceeded to the door.
As she they drew closer, she could feel her breath coming at uneven intervals. Even if she had decided to continue on, she was no braver than she had been before... well, she thought so. She paused as they reached the door, with another glance at Sev she extended her hand and reached out for the handle. "Locked," She muttered, as she made an attempt to jiggle the handle. Why would this room be locked? Ally pondered the reasons as she raised her wand. Taking in a deep breath she muttered, "Alohomora." and a loud click echoed around the wooden hall. She let the door slid open, revealing nothing but blackness inside. Should then continue in? She turned her gaze to Sev, wondering if the still wished to.
Post by cremefilled on Oct 30, 2007 21:21:56 GMT -5
Sev took half a step back. Locked doors meant that one should not go in them. Plus, it was dark. Another reason why Sev did not actually trust this room. He wanted to light his wand but he was also afraid to know what was in there. He held his breath, listening for any sounds within the room. He slowly stepped forward, holding his wand tightly in front of him.
He took another step, this time his toes were in the dark room. As he placed his foot down, he could see that the front half of his foot was lost in the darkness. He leaned forward slightly and then was pulled forward into the darkness. he tumbled forward with half a yelp and suddenlyw as gone. He did not make a sound. In fact, there was no sounds heard at all. Sev did not come out of the room or make any reference of existance in the room.
What Allison would not be able to see was that Sev was actually leaning against the wall in the room, biting his fist in an attempt not to laugh. He waited to hear her voice calling for him or if she would actually take a step into the room herself.

The stillness set the third year on edge. Should they really go in? By the looks of it, Sev wanted to continue on. Ally was beginning to think it was a bad idea, but she was not about to break the silence they found themselves in. With worry in her eyes, the let Sev pass her and begin to make his way into the room.
Her hand, which as turned white, gripped her wand ever more tightly, ready for what ever they would be confronted with inside the darkness of the room. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as he continued in, his foot being swallowed by the pitch black. What happened next she was no where near prepared for. The next thing she knew, Sev was being pulled into the depths of the room. Panic suddenly consuming her, she was not thinking of what could be listening out for them. "Sev!" She exclaimed, her hand tightening on her wand.
With wide eyes, she continued to stare into the room. Seeing nothing and hearing nothing. It was unnerving. She gulped down her fear with a great effort. What had just happened? Where had Sev gone? Maybe this house what haunted..... She shuddered away from the possibility. Gathering up any courage of hers that remained, she proceeded forward into the room. One foot then the next. Soon, the darkness had consumed her. Feeling blind she lit her want once again and peered around. No Sev. She was really worried now. Hazel orbs scanned the dust covered room to see that it looked like an old bedroom. There were no places to hide from what she could see. So then where had he gone? Her heart began to race once again, wondering where her friend had vanished to.

Sev's tongue began to bleed since he was biting it so hard. But it was the only thing preventing him from laughing. He knew he was being mean and judging by the nervousness she obviously was portraying, Sev figured it was best to let her know it was just a trick. But he could not just step forward and say, 'haha.' No, he had to put icing on the cake.
Standing behind Allison, he stuck his wand in his pocket so he had both hands free. He came up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Looking for someone?" he whispered in her ear with a creepy voice. Then he quickly jumped back for the fear of how she could possibly react. He knew that he would be in trouble now but that did not stop him from laughing uncontrollably.
Last Edit: Nov 5, 2007 14:43:11 GMT -5 by cremefilled
The sudden mixture of salt and metal in the air caused her to freeze where she was. Not that she wasn't already frozen with worry. The smell was so faint that she could have been imagining it, and probably was. Peoples minds tend to conjure up the wildest things, and this might be one of those times.... or not.
The fear began to mount as she continued to stare around the long ago abandoned room. She tried to swallow the fear, but to little success. Where was Sev? She gripped her wand even more tightly (if that was even possible) and debated whether to light her wand or not. The darkness pressed around her eyes, limiting her vision greatly. A light would be of great assistance, but the consequences could be just as great.
"Looking for someone?"
The sudden hands on her shoulders would have been enough to scare the life out of her, but he just had to add the creepy voice, didn't he? Her eyes flashed wide before closing just as quickly. The next sound she heard was a quick, terrified scream. More like a squeal than anything, but where had it come from. With sudden realization, she found the source of the afraid yelp. Herself. She spun around to find Sev laughing to death behind her. She had no trouble seeing how much this had amused him, even in the pitch black. "Thanks, just what I needed." She said sarcastically, a hint of a smile playing across her face. Even if she had been scared, it had not been all that bad.... ok maybe a little. "If your done scaring me to death, can we finish exploring?" She said a little breathless after her scare.

When Sev finally gained his composure and could stand up straight, he smirked at Allison, holding onto his tongue so it would stop bleeding from where he bit it. "Sowwy, but da momeh wab behing fo it," he admitted, shaking his head slowly. He let go of his tongue. "All right, we can get going now. Lumos." And light filled the room. Sev could see Allison's face a little more clearly and was shocked. He did not realize how much he scared her as he looked at how white her face had suddenly become. He moved forward to give her a hug. "I'm sorry, Allison. Really," was all he could say.
Then he stepped back and paused. Sev drew in a deep breath through his nostrils. "Do you smell something?" he asked. It was a faint smell, but he could sense it, though he could not describe it too well. "Kinda salty smell..." he muttered, looking around for a possible source.
'So, he did bite his tongue,' she thought to herself as her heat slowed from a gallop to a fast walk. "You ok?" She asked sincerely, taking a few steps toward him, not trusting herself completely. The smell of blood was stronger now, but she ignored it. She gave a weak laugh at his messed up words, and let her cut hand loosen on her wand. Ouch, she had not realized that she had been holding on that tightly. Guess he had scared her quite a bit.
"I'm sorry, Allison. Really,"
"It...It's ok," She replied, giving him a quick hug back. "My fault for being such a scaredy cat." She replied, her smile strengthen a bit. "Never was one for haunted houses....." That was a lie, but oh well. She didn't mind placed such as this, she enjoyed the adventure actually, but still.... This place had to be one of the top five creepiest places she had ever been to. The forest back home taking first place.
"Do you smell something?"
A questioning expression clouded her smile as she glanced around, trying to find what he was talking about. "Yeah.... a bit," She replied quietly, her hazel eyes gazing around, trying to find the source. What could that smell be? True her senses were probably off due to the previous smell of blood, but she could still smell the odd stench that was faint in the air now.

Slightly embarassing to bite ones tongue due to laughing so hard, but Sev ignored that and leaned against one of the walls. "Yeah, I'm okay," he muttered, grinning. He crossed his arms in front of him and shrugged. "Never one for haunted houses? Allison, you're in one right now," he said matter-of-factly. "I think you can handle them just fine. And you're not a scaredy cat. If I was in your shoes, I bet I would have killed whatever touched me in the process and then ran home after peeing my pants from so much fear."
A little dramatic? Maybe. But who cared...
"Perhaps, it's just the blood," Sev decided in regard to the smell. He stuck out is tongue and tried to take a look at it. That plan did not really work. So he shrugged and sighed, deciding not to worry about it. Continuing to lean against the wall, Sev wondered aloud, "You know. It'd be cool to have one of them trick walls so if you hit the right switch, they would lead you to other places like secret laboratories and stuff." With that he gave a smirk.
She measured his expression for a moment before rolling her eyes with a smile. "Bitting your own tongue laughing...." She shook her head in mock sadness. A laugh sudden escaped her lips. "Good way to keep quiet." She ginned back at him as he leaned against a wall.
Now it was her turn to laugh. The image of him running all the way home suddenly popped into her head. She had to admit, it was a very funny thought. She crossed her arms over her stomach, holding it tight as it began to ache from her laughing so hard. "And screaming like a little girl doesn't count as being a scardy cat?" She asked once she was able to breath again. She thought she had handled that quite pitifully, but then again, it could have been worse. "But, thanks," She added with another smile. She actually did enjoy exploring old buildings such as the one they were in now.
She shook her head with a smile placed upon her lips as he made an attempt to examine his tongue. It was a rather funny. Her attention was pulled back to the bedroom they found themselves in after a moment. There was a lot of old junk occupying the dust covered room. She moved farther into the darkness, her eyes adjusted to the lack of light better than before. She noticed a desk and wandered over to it, looking at the many items perched upon it. Curiosity taking a hold on her. "You know. It'd be cool to have one of them trick walls so if you hit the right switch, they would lead you to other places like secret laboratories and stuff."
He hadn't even finished speaking when she reached out toward an old metal statue of a dragon. It's eyes burned red and it was just calling her name apparently. As she took hold of the cold figure, it slipped away from under her fingers, leaning back away from herself. Her eyes widened. Whether it was due to the fact that it had actually moved or the loud band, she did not know. She spun around quickly at the sound to find the wall behind Sev had disappeared. The one he had been leaning against.....
Post by cremefilled on Nov 9, 2007 22:40:17 GMT -5
"You are a girl," Sev shrugged. "Therefore you are entitled to scream like one. Just like I can scream like a guy... I guess." He shrugged and laughed along with Allison. Shaking his head, he was about to say another word when he realized her attention was put toward a metal dragon. He was about to take a step forward himself when he fell backwards and toward the ground. When he glanced up, the last thing he saw was Allison looking horrified toward him and the wall closing them apart. Then everything was silent and dark...
All he could hear was his own breathing. Suddenly he was too afraid to call out Allison's name. He did not want to move at all. Looking around in the darkness, Sev reached in his pocket, feeling for his wand. But it was not there. Swearing under his breath, Sev slolwy leaned forward and felt around for his wand. The entire time, he feared someone or something coming up from behind him and taking him somewhere where he would never be seen again. This time, Sev was truly scared.
Finally, he felt a long stick of wood and grasped it. "Lumos," he wispered. When the dim light filled the room, Sev glanced around. He was in a hallway. Turning back to the wall to the other room, Sev wondered whether or not he should try to get through this way or move forward on his own. Slowly he raised his fist and knocked on the wall.
"Allison," he called, hoping his voice would get through the thick wall.
Post by icymorpher on Nov 11, 2007 11:24:27 GMT -5
She gave him a smile. "Guess so....." Hopefully neither of them would have a reason to be scared enough to scream tonight. Hey, she could hope right? Her eyes widened in shock as he fell back, "Sev!" She exclaimed, a new fear arising as the wall suddenly began to shut again. She needed to do something, anything. Her eyes still wide with fear as the darkness began to consume him. 'Move. Move!' She told herself, trying to force her legs to move forward. She shook her head before her fearful eyes focused on Sev again. She was too late.
"Sev!" She yelled once more as the wall fell into it's previous place, isolating them. Oh sure, now her legs worked. She quickly ran to the wall and frantically began to search for a way to open it. She didn't know if Sev could even hear her if she called out his name. Probably better if she didn't. Who knew what laid beyond the door..... At this thought, her eyes grew ever more wider and her search more frantic. There just had to be a way to open it.
With a sudden idea, she quickly made her way over to the dragon. She forced the dragon back, but this time nothing stirred. Nothing happened. "Great," She murmured. Her voice full of fear and hopelessness. She was running out of ideas, but her imagination was running wild. She was fearful for what was behind the secret wall. Ally and her curiosity.
She bit her lip hard. What should she do? Even if it only had been a few minutes, it felt like eternity to her, but finally she heard Sev calling her. She ran back to the wall. His voice was muffled and faint, but it was him. "Sev?" She called back, placing both her hands on the wall. "Can you hear me? Are you alright?" She was relieved to hear him, but she really needed to find a way to free him from the evil wall.
Post by cremefilled on Nov 12, 2007 10:29:39 GMT -5
"I spoke too soon," Sev called back. "Yeah, I'm all right. I don't think I can really just as easily get back over there to where you are." He banged his fist against the wall and swore loudly in Japanese. Leaning back against the wall, Sev took a moment to collect his thoughts. Glancing at his wand, he tried to think back to any spell he may have known from being homeschooled for all these years. Why was it now that he could not remember a single spell that could possibly blow a hole in a wall. "Nox," he muttered and the hallway grew dark.
Then he remembered suddenly. He knew what magic he could use. He was a little nervous about using it because he technically was not allowed to use spells that he had not 'technically' learned about through the school. But if he had to use it, this was the time. He yelled through the wall again. "Back up. I'm gonna try to something," he said. Then he waited a few moments for Allison to do so before he took a couple steps back himself. Then, swinging his arm, he pointed his was toward the wall and yelled "Bombarda!"
There was a blast and Sev was blown backwards. He laid on the ground in a bit of pain and glanced up. Not only had the wall not blown up from his spell but it also had a charm on it that had forced the spell right back on him. Coughing, Sev slowly stood up and wiped his nose which was now bleeding. If he could look in a mirror, he would see the dirty, scratched face of a boy looking back at him. He sighed "Lumos" and could see again.
"Allison," he called out, his voice echoing down the hallway. "This isn't gonna work. Stay right where you are. I'm gonna give this hallway a try. If I don't get out of this in fifteen minutes, get out of here and get help." Then, instead of waiting for her response, he turned and ran down the hallway toward the room at the end.
Post by icymorpher on Nov 12, 2007 19:08:51 GMT -5
Ally sighed in relief. So he was fine.... but how would he get back to where she was? She began to contemplate different ways for him to get back or her to find a way to where he was. That really would not accomplish anything, but still.... "Come on.... think!" She murmured, pressing her forehead against the wall, trying to come up with an idea, any idea. "Might have been a good idea to pay attention in class," She muttered to herself, really regretting that she had not been able to focus on her lessons lately. What could she do? "Back up. I'm gonna try to something,"
What in the world was he going to do? Allison lifted her head quickly at his words and obediently retreated father back into the room. She was about to ask what he was planning, but the words had not even formed in her head when a loud bang came from the other side of the wall. Even if the explosion had been slightly muffled by the wall, it was still shook the wood beneath her feet and caused her hand to fly up and cover her ears in shock. She wasn't sure she even wanted to know what he had just done, even thought she had a pretty good idea what. She coughed as the dust filled her lungs and stung her eyes. If there was anything else in the old shack besides them, it knew it had company now.
"Sev?" She called in between coughs. "You alri....." Her voice trailed off the smell of blood filled her nostrils. What ever had happened, it had not been good. Not good at all. Her eyes grew wide as she made her way over to the wall, stumbling along the way. She was about to ask what had happened when he called out her name. She listened as he stated that he was going to find another way out, a way she could not go. "Wait," She called through the thick wall, "Sev, wait!" There was no response. She didn't notice until he was gone how alone and creepy the house was. Every noise had her eyes darting everywhere, her senses going crazy. "Hurry...." she muttered, allowing fear to creep into her eyes. She had been afraid before, but she had made an attempt (no matter how pathetic) to hide it. Now, she did not even try to make an attempt to shield it from others. She was afraid.
She crossed her arms over her stomach, holding tight. She wanted to go after Sev but, wandering around would only get her lost and even more in trouble. That's about the last thing she wanted. She made her way slowly over to the bed at the far end of the room. She took a seat, perching herself on the edge of the silk sheets. Her gaze lowered to her shoes, trying to find something to do that would be of help. Part of it was to be helpful, another to keep her mind preoccupied from her imagination.

Time passed: seconds, minutes. Soon it began to feel like hours. There was no time in this house. It did not matter. What did matter was that fifteen minutes had passed and Sev had yet to appear. Where he was, only he knew.
But he was searching for a way out, that was always on his mind as he traveled through the house. He wondered how long he had been searching. It had to be at least fifteen minutes by this point. His walk turned into a sprint and Sev began to panic. What if he did not find his way back to Allison? Would she stay there? Sev glanced all around him. Deciding to go by his gut instinct this time, Sev went through a door he had yet to try and went into it.
Time passed. And then, twenty five minutes after he had told Allison to wait, he finally emerged into the room with the metal dragon. His nose was still bleeding and his face was dirty and dusty. But he had a smile on his face. What had happened between the time he went through that random door by gut instinct and emerging back into this room was a story worth telling. So as he came into the room, he looked around for Allison, excited to tell her what he saw.
Post by icymorpher on Nov 16, 2007 17:21:52 GMT -5
How much time had passed? Minutes? Seconds? Who knew? Time seemed to be sleeping, at a stand still as she waited. Waited for Sev to return. The time came and passed. No Sev. Her worried expression only drew stronger as she minutes ticked by, slowly and painfully. Had the fifteen long minutes gone by already? With a sigh, she turned her eyes away from her shoes and to the wall where he had disappeared. Why did she have to be so curious. It was her fault that she was now alone.
She pulled her feet onto the bed, hugging her knees there. She simply waited on. For how long could she just sit there? Sit while Sev tried to find a way out of the mess the third year had caused. She could not take it much longer. She wouldn't. With a sudden spark, she got to her feet and began to look around the room. Trying to find a way to reopen the wall. She had already decided not to go looking for him, seeing as that would not improve their situation, so she was going to do what she could here.
Something disturbed her search however. The sound of a muffled thud and footsteps. Could it be Sev? Confusion dampened her new determination as she turned toward the open door. Was that him? She was too afraid to call out. She simply began to make her way toward the door. Slowly and carefully. Her breath began to come in uneven intervals as she reached the door. "Sev?" Ally called quietly, peering around the corner, only to find an abandoned corridor. What had that noise been then? She left the room and came to stand in the middle of the hall, staring into it's depths memorized and yet fearful at the same time. Her wonderment seemed to take a hold on her as she heard yet again the same, fading noise. Someone was around. Maybe it was Sev? Should she go and see? She deliberated with herself, biting her lip as she did so.
It was a snap decision, but she took one step, and then another. Soon enough, she was making her way down the hall, wanting to be of help. She did not even consider that it could not be something as friendly as Sev. Maybe if she had been thinking clearly she would have stopped right then. Stopped before something happened, but fear had her mind working in strange ways.
She finally reached the end of the long hall, and guessed what faced her now. Another door. Taking in a steadying breath, she reached out with a shaking hand and turned the door knob. All she could see was blackness, thinking that it was due to the lack of lighting, she stepped into the room.
