Adriana Sullivan had lived in London for her entire life, not counting of course the seven she spent in France for school, and yet she felt like everytime she stepped into a store or, indeed, a supermarket like Wand*Mart, the witch felt like everything she knew was changing in front of her very eyes. She wasn't sure why, because the shop itself hadn't really changed all that much since the last time she'd entered. Maybe it was just that her entire world view had altered so dramatically, that the world through her eyes looked different.
Regardless of how it looked, Adriana trawled through Wand*Mart, a plastic basket floating in the air beside her as she pulled assorted foodstuffs and ingredients off shelves and out of cooling blocks, dropping them into the basket. Dressed in long black wizarding robes with a charcoal-grey pencil-line skirt and white blouse underneath, Adriana's black hair was twisted into a bun at the nape of her neck, her dark eyes highlighted by smudges of grey make-up. She'd just come from her interview at St. Mungo's, for a position as a mediwitch, and felt greatly uncomfortable in the get-up. All she wanted was to get her groceries, dress very down in her muggle track pants, and then read the latest book she'd filched fromher father'sher estate.
Clearly not paying attention to her surroundings, the witch read what she needed off a list that she had quickly written down, the lined yellow parchment held up close to her face. As a result, Adriana didn't see the traffic in her path until she ran right into it. With a muttered curse, the witch knelt down to attend to her basket, which had fallen to the ground as she'd lost control of the charm holding it in the air. For the moment, Adriana completely ignored the person she'd bumped into, shaking her head at her own clumsiness as she cleared up the bags of crisps, potatoes and chocolate bars off the market floor.
