Dearest Students,[/font]Welcome to Term 16's Transfiguration Classes! As you have been notified by the Headmistress, Transfiguration is compulsory for all first to fifth years, and optional for those sitting NEWTs. It is an honour and a privilege to teach this subject, perhaps one of the most complicated branches of magic, and your respect and cautiousness are key requirements when in my classroom.
Students are required to attend at least three classes in which they have a role of key participation, rather than just attending in silence for the entire class. A record will be kept of attendence and participation, and house points will be rewarded for taking part. Classes will be held fortnightly, according to the current schedule:CLASS 1: 26/5/09
CLASS 2: 9/6/09
CLASS 3: 23/6/09
CLASS 4: 7/7/09
CLASS 5: 21/7/09
CLASS 6: 4/8/09
I will not be setting homework, however classes may well be fast-paced and require your input to go by succesfully.
For Sixth and Seventh years, animagus training is not part of the standard curriculum, it being a rare art to perfect. Instead, seperate animagus classes will be held, in which further details will be discussed. The first of these will commence on 29/5/09. For my records, it is important that all who wish to take part in these sign up on the seperate sign-up sheet which will be posted shortly.
Students who join part-way through the term are not expected to attend 3/6 classes, but instead 50% of those still available (rounded up) Therefore those with three classes left to the term will be required to attend two classes to pass. There will be a practical and written test given at the end of term, and passing this will be the equivalent of attending one class with full participation.
Yours faithfully,
Cole Aleksandar Halliwell
