She almost couldn't believe her luck. I was almost to prefect. Fiara glanced back around the room. There was practically no one in the place except for a couple sitting over in the far corner and the card players sitting across from her. She gave the group and dubious glance. Yep, she was sure of it now. Judging by the way the older players acted, they probably did this often but the younger man with them seemed to be out of his element. Quickly, Fiara stole a glance at them with her "other" vision. She picked up on the elders but the young man showed nothing. His aura was not there. Suprised, she stared at the group for a moment before turning away, taking a sip of her beer to collect her thoughts. Fiara looked back at them, this time ignoring the younger man's absence of aura as a fluke due to the light. Her eyes took in the strange fluctuations in their auras as they fiddled with their cards. She smiled as the big burly man attempted to hide the tick of his pulse at his temple that gave away his hand. Another man with a bad back, shifted in his chair again, trying to alleviate the pain in his lower back and the man next to him glared at him, thinking he was attempting to see his cards. Fiara smiled, and began her game.
Reaching out, Fiara picked up her beer off the table and took a swig before returning to eyes to the four soon to be fighters playing thier card game. She knew for certain that one of the men was going to start a fight and she was bidding on it being the younger man at the table who seemed completely out of his element, almost ill at ease around men any other person would be intimidated by. She watched him for a moment, trying to figure out what it was about him that caused her internal alarms to go off. She watched for his aura again but still there was nothing. He seemed like a darkness she couldn't see through. HTe kind she used to be afraid of when she was little. She was intrigued as to how he could hide his aura from her so she waited, watching silently as the game went on.
As she watched, the younger man lean slightly to his left and whisper something to the burly man next to him. Her hand paused, the cup halfway to her mouth as she watched the burly man’s aura spike with such strong anger that she could barely suppress the shudder that went up her spine. The man jumped to his feet and knocked to table over, diving across it at the man with the back pain. Surprise flared apparent in the pained man’s aura a moment before the burly man hit him, taking the both of them to the floor. Soon the sound of punches being thrown, shouting, and swearing filled the air in the Three Broomsticks. Suddenly she realized that there was someone seated across from her at her table. She looked over at younger man and blinked. Slightly confused about how he got there, the first words out of her mouth came out harsher than she intended. “Can I help you?”
