It wasn't that she was lonely, per se, but having just stepped down from her job and now living a fairly quiet lifestyle, Jackie figured it was time to go out and be a little adventurous again. Back in school, if she wasn't in class, it took everything to drag the girl back to the Mihael common room as she loved being outdoors. Most days, she'd sit in the grass or in a flower bed and just cloud watch or sit and gab with friends and nothing felt more natural or enlightening to her. Since graduating, her outdoor space was limited to Organic Park which was quite the distance from her flat now to even make the effort to go outdoors. Today of all days is a little dull, though, and so a long walk is just what she needs.
In any case, having just adopted the most adorable cocker spaniel puppy named Penny, Jackie figures this gives her even more license to get to a park sooner rather than later. As a matter of fact, now a dog owner, Jackie's considered once or twice moving back into the magical side of London, only weary of a few people she's not sure she's ready to see just yet. All weariness aside, Penny trails happily, tongue poking out of her mouth and tail wagging appreciatively when the the door to their apartment building opens and the pair are met with fresh air.
Jackie breathes it all in, humming delightedly under her breath, face flushing with excitement. Warmer today, she's adorned a pair of black running shorts and a yellow tank top with running shoes to keep her little one active. Once outside, Jackie holds the leash with a firm grip, only stopping to pull her hair up in a sloppy pony tail, laughing as Penny barks up at her, cueing that she's ready to go. "Okay, okay, patience please," she reprimands the puppy, not bothering to scoop down and coddle and coo at her as she usually does. It was evident Penny was ready for her run.
Lupin starts off at a brisk pace, slowing every so often to peer down at her running partner to see if this was too much, too soon, but Penny was vibrant and eager, pulling on the leash to encourage that she keep up. Smiling, Jackie finally enters the park, running faster now, captivated by the scenery around her and families and other pets occupying the park on this lovely day. Roughly twenty minutes later, Jackie hears panting from beneath her and takes pity on her dog, breaking their run time to move over to the pond in the center of the park, allowing the puppy some time to drink and catch her breath. "You're quite the little spirit, you know that?" She asks her, still smiling, albeit a little ruffled in her appearance now herself.
Jackie leans against a tree, singing a tune beneath her breath while Penny drinks some more; eyes darting around to survey the area and see if there was anyone she knew. Spotting no one, she shrugs, figuring perhaps unlike herself, they were all busy with their work days and then proceeds to pick up her dog as she had wanted to earlier, cuddling her to her chest and giggling happily. A pet was a perfect idea; she'd been a lot happier ever since she adopted the silly little thing. "Are you having fun, Penny dear?"
