Physical Description: Mandy is 5'7, fair skin, long red hair, pale grey eyes and quite slender. A pair of deep and wrought scars can be found on her shoulder blades- the size of large human hands, if they hadn't been so disturbing in appearance perhaps one could see them to resemble wings.
Personality:
Mandy is a withdrawn individual whom usually seeks solitude to process her thoughts. Although this, she does enjoy and thrive in the company of others and is a friendly and open person.
Mandy loves to learn and examine facts, always being one to dwell and consider things greatly. She has always been a high achiever academically. Mandy is expressive and passionate about her goals in life to no end.
History:
Mandy was born in Australia and later raised in her family’s pureblood household in Ireland. Mandy is the oldest child of five. Her mother Ashley Hart passed away as the result of a fatal disease, carried on through the family bloodline, the family since have been slightly torn. Tragically this disease was discovered in all of the Hart family’s children. Leaving her family to attend Trios Hogwarts was a mixture of emotions for the young lady, being both excited for the prospect of study and burdened by worry for her family. Their fates had been decided so early on in their lives, but Mandy couldn’t help but feel determined that she could evade this reality. That Trios offered her a chance for the future, hope.
The day Mandy was sorted into Ravenclaw was also the day she meet LeLe Maiden and Xander Deeker. Little did she know the two would later become her best and closest friends.
During Mandy’s first years at Trios she could be found with either LeLe causing mischief and strife amongst professors and clowning around in the school grounds, or with Xander lost in their extensive conversations and thoughts at the Astronomy tower. Forever eager to learn and discover the young lady would wonder the castle meeting various other fellow students too, gaining a reasonable collection of friends throughout the different school’s house. Mandy participated in various schooling activities such as the Theatre Guild, Ravenclaw Quidditch Cheer Squad and The Wizard Amulets which was a band that Mandy gained many friends. Some of such were Straw Bucket, Kat Samuels, Kelly Evens, Logan Renly, Joshua Chambers and Alan Moser. Although the Amulets never played a live performance they did however practice in a secret lair located in the house elf kitchens. These were the early school years for Mandy, which were the pinnacle of less happier days to come.
In Mandy’s second year she came to stumble upon the gentlemen, mister Brandon Corbett whom she dated and became quite attached to and a great affection for. Everything for Mandy was perfect with all her friends and schooling going amazingly. Trios was more than she had dreamed of... However her concerns and weakness had started to become more and more evident especially to her close friend Xander. He had been the one Mandy had eventually admitted to her illness, making him swear to never tell a soul. Mandy wanted the peace she couldn’t get at home all of her family taking pity and crying for her. She didn’t want that at Trios with her friends. No. It would be easier and more pleasant on her to not speak of her illness. Not even to LeLe whom she shared everything but the truth of her state.
During Mandy’s third to fourth years at Trios problems with her health started to become very apparent. Hiding the illness from her peers was taking its toll on the lady. Concern and more side effects increased as time passed with secrets still withheld until the night of the Ball of Enchanted Dreams… In a very tense argument with LeLe, Xander had bellowed the truth of Mandy. LeLe enraged with hurt and disbelief from the truth, sought out Mandy, storming through the crowds at the Ball to the dancing couple of Mandy and Brandon. LeLe had slapped her and yelled unforgiving and cruelly admitting everything to all the ears that surrounded. Mandy had fled the ball she could no longer deny the truth from those she loved. And so her relationship with Brandon came dramatically to an end, as did her friendships with her best friends LeLe and Xander. She had to push them away..
The disease had affected Mandy in so many ways already that she couldn’t even imagine it to hurt her more. How could it? Not only had it proclaimed her life but it had also been the wrench in the family that tore them apart with grief. They had wanted her to stay so badly. Live out the rest of her life at her real home. Mandy did not wish to stay amongst the sadness and memories of which she did not seek to remember. She had been selfish and despite their refusal to allow her to leave, Mandy did just that. She wrote her good byes to them in a letter with words that expressed her love for them all but there was no other way.
Her last years at Trios stretched out to no end. Mandy could have been but a ghost in the Ravenclaw tower, no one ever saw her. Occasionally she would continue to visit the old places she once loved to spend time with her beloved friends, Rose Petal Lane, the theatre, the towers. But they had left and she had not blamed them, forever feeling responsible for what had been. These years Mandy spent focusing on her other love, to study and gaining whatever knowledge she could. In her Sixth year Mandy was made prefect but at the end of this year Mandy left due to the stress of her medical condition on herself physically and mentally.
Since then Mandy has gone into remission and has astoundingly recovered from Leukemia. Studied broadly by mediwizards none could say why or how Mandy was able to recover so precisely. ‘It’s a miracle’ puzzled but astounded voices would say from behind clipboards. Yes wonderful, surely it was to be seen this way. Only Mandy would know the truth to what had happen riddled with guilt and loss she knew how she had recovered. It had been Xander, a horrible unfair love story. Through Xander’s torment of loosing Mandy he had tracked her down to the hospital she had been admitted to, refusing to leave her side. Xander had spoken of spells he had been studying and forbidden magic that could save her. Arguments had pursued to no end, Mandy refusing the madness of which he spoke. When the final moment had come and Mandy had drawn her last breath something happened. From Xander’s deep abiding love of Mandy an ancient soul-binding spell was created. He had given his life to keep Mandy in exchange for his own. In effect nothing was left behind of Xander, except for Mandy’s strength to recovery and a set of scars on her back from where he had held her closely. The scars were the shape of Xander’s large hands, remarkably resembling a silhouette of wings deeply carved into her small shoulder blades. Such an ancient spell of this sacrifice would not go without leaving its mark. All Mandy knew was his soul would remain apart of her.
Mandy is ashamed and riddled with grief for the loss of her old friend. For the few years she has been well, she has spent them in denial.
Ms Hart is back now in the Wizarding World. After studying for her degree in Counseling for several years she now hopes to help all who are stressed and feel alone. Mandy now is a strong and expressive woman, devoting her life to helping those who are alone and scared just like she was.
Other:
Xander wasn’t one to speak of his heritage but more cover it up with false proclaims such as to be an Air Elemental. This was a lie Mandy would never admit to anyone, Xander was her closest and best friend and she would never betray his trust.
Xander was the last of his kind an Ancient being thought to either myth or extinct. Much like Veela depicted in Greek mythology who lured travellers, muggles and wizards alike to their inevitable deaths. These creatures also flew with wings usually appearing to their pray as angelic beings conveying a sense of hope and trust, usually telling misleading tales of future prospects and showing healing abilities to lure mortals. Their severe secrecy and mystic was brought on by the popularisation of Muggle’s scribing their encounters; the encounters starting to become more and more apparent historically in manuscripts and even in religion. It was said a few of these creatures used their magical abilities to heal certain muggles whom they had come to grow feelings for. From this a realisation of their power and its effect on the world was established that too much was at stake if another creature were to realise and harness the powers they processed. This drove the ancient creatures into hiding even from magical folk- some rebelled and were destroyed if any attempt of contact was made. Slowly the race was to die off, until finally there was only one ancient left, Xander.
In early Biblical times these creatures were often referred to as messages from God or in Greek mythology through to the Dark Ages they were also known as Harpies, thieves of the sky.
