Too long...
The dark London air was welcoming as he stepped into the light that shown from one of the windows of Follett Towers. It was a sight for sore eyes, his eyes, which had been away for far too long. The summer air was sweet and slightly thick, a sign that rain was possibly in the forecast. Though he could tell it would be soon since he couldn't see the stars and moon this evening. Where he had been was confidential, but the conditions weren't that great and he was just glad to be done with it. Sometimes his job took him across the world and depending on the case, he would be gone for short or long periods of time. It's a job that he loves to do, but sometimes it was too much that it would wear him down. He was exhausted...too exhausted, but he knew that once he stepped inside that would all change.
Slumped shoulders straightened up and he took his bags, heading through the front doors of Follett Towers and padding quietly down the hallway. It was silent, not a peep coming from any of the apartments that he passed by. The quietness was comforting compared to the loud, sleepless city he had last come from. His journey taking hours until his arrival to London. There really is no place he'd rather be than home with her in the comfort of their home. He was becoming more anxious to enter into his apartment knowing that she'd be there. But could she be awake or asleep? Jacques didn't want to bother her, but at the same time he just wanted to hold her close and stay that way for hours.
He took a deep breath as he stopped in front of apartment 109, staring at the golden plated numbers, no sound emitting from the other side.
She's definitely asleep or perhaps she's still at work?
Jacques unlocked the door and entered stealthily, turning on the lamp and setting aside his bags near the coat rack His eyes scanned the apartment. Not a lot has changed besides the slight feminine touch to his apartment, a better improvement to when he first moved here. He saw the door to his bedroom was slightly cracked and dark. Assuming that Kelly was passed out, he'd wait and settle in first before joining her. He crossed the living room and into the kitchen, taking a glass out of the cupboard and filling it with tap water. Sipping his water, he headed back into the living room and sat down, his body sinking into the soft cushions of his couch. He was really glad to be back in his comfort zone. At least with his return, he was given vacation to rest. With the constant come and go cases that had him gone for the majority of the last several months, he deserved this. Jacques craned his neck back, eyes staring at the ceiling before slowly closing shut. His body hadn't felt rest like this in a long time. It was nice.
