Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
And the grounds sounded so different in the day time, contrasted to the night time. She spent the previous night with her friend, Nathaniel, down in the enchanted gardens. However, today, as she decided to come down to the lake after classes, she sat against the trunk of a tree, parts of the brown bark jabbing into her spine.
She believed in yesterday. More likely lastnight. And she believed that it was a good night she spent with Nathaniel, safe within arms reach. Amanda hadn't felt the greatest for the past few weeks, feeling slightly unnoticed, and perhaps socially inept. She wasn't the same. She wasn't like herself last term. Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday...
The night left traces of sleep under her sapphire eyes, gazing at the lake, admiring the shimmering waters that lapped against the banks. Her night was a wonderful night, and her day turned out just as beautiful. She sat alone, no books, and nothing else infront of her. Just a wand in her Hufflepuff robes, and her shoes off to the side.
Bare feet, toes, wiggled in her white cotton socks on the soft green turf. Tickled by the prickly grass which stained the bottom of her socks. Oh well, there's a simple way of removing stains these days. She mused as she took them off, placing the socks inside her shoes. And her feet were free, bare, and oddly pale like her skin. But she was like porcelain, purely and pearly white.Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
But she didn't feel all too great, sitting there, alone and bored. Her eyes drifted off in a distance. The mountains appeared shadowy. The evening was drawing in, but she wanted to stay, stay for the sunset and for reasons unknown. Everyone was inside, shuffling around, finishing up homework and such. However, she was here, alone, and enjoying the presence of herself and no one else.Though I hope that doesn't last long.
Oh, I believe in yesterday
She thought about yesterday. For it wasn't like today, and her mind enjoyed memories of the stars and the silvery sliver of the moon in the sky. Her best friend beside her and fingers intertwined. Fingers touching softly, gracefully, and then they were gone. Her eyes glanced at her hand, as if infected, and finally laid it to rest on the green grass.
Her head leaned back on the bark, light and long blonde tendrils falling and framing her face. Sapphire eyes glanced up at the lush green foliage. At least she could wish, wish that this evening would turn out the best. And wish that company, anyone and none in particular, would join her. And this time, she didn't need a place to hide away. No, I need no place to hide away
