After several boring hours in the library, Sadie had made a new acquaintance. Rather than continue her studying, the girl decided that it was high time for a break [from slacking]. She agreed to meet Violet and Brayden outside, and this was just what she intended to do.
The second year Gryffindor hurried up to her house tower, speaking the password impatiently to the fat lady's portrait. She jogged up the steps to her dormitory, tossing her messenger bag down on her bed without worrying about crunching her newly-written DADA essay. It didn't matter, she hadn't written very much yet. Glancing around frantically, the girl started calling softly,
"Here kitty...pssst. Kitty kitty?"
Kneeling upon the ground, she glanced under her bed and low and behold she found what she was looking for. A small furry kitten had wedged itself between her traveling trunk and the bottom of the box springs. How on earth it had managed such a predicament, Sadie might never know...but she was in too much of a hurry to wonder about it just now. She squeezed herself nimbly underneath her canopy bed, reaching out to grasp the kitten gently. Carefully Sadie wriggled herself free. She then stood and bolted out of the room and downward still through the castle, toward the Great Hall. The girl tucked the kitten underneath her shirt as she went. She wasn't certain, but there was more than likely some ridiculous rule against having pets in the dining area.
She quickly grabbed herself a snack, then a little bit of roast beef for the kitty, wrapping it all up in a few napkins. Shoving it into her pocket, she also claimed three bottles of butter beer before taking off toward the front door. After a bit of walking, Sadie came close to the lake. She hoped that her friends would find her there... Carefully the girl sat upon the grass. Next she allowed the small kitten to emerge from beneath the hem of her shirt. It waddled awkwardly down to the crook of her lap where it faltered, its tiny paws unable to cope with the odd angle of her crossed-legs. Sadie giggled softly, lifting the kitten and setting it down in the grass. She smiled as the tiny animal waddled this way and that, its movements slow and awkward.
The second year couldn't wait for her friends to see her new kitten! She had gotten the tiny thing from the Charms TA Ms. Halliwell. Sadie couldn't have been more pleased. She teased the tiny creature with a blade of grass as she impatiently waited around to show off the cute little thing.
