Breathe. Could Xiomara remember how to go back to the way she’d been before? Of course she could. Xiomara had a strong soul, and she wouldn’t let anything take her spirit away, especially when it came to the things she cared most about; quidditch and Nathaniel her best friend. It was dawn, and the sun had just peeked its bright rays from beyond the forest trees. And the sky, the sky was a brilliant shade of blue near the ends, yet where the sun came it gave off beautiful orange and pink splashes, like an oil painting. And the way the sky reflected over the lake was an image you couldn’t take out of your mind throughout the entire day, no matter what else happened, you’d have that image of perfection in your eyes.
Xiomara had woken up early today. There was no specific reason why she had done this. She just rolled out of bed, a Sunday and a sunny bright day would await her. She had gotten dressed, in a very tired way, and she had looked into the mirror and tried messing with her hair a bit, which wasn’t cooperating like usual. As she exited the dormitory and made her way to the common room she noticed very little moment. One other person was there in the room, but they were scribbling silently on a sheet of parchment in the corner of the room.
It wasn’t that she didn’t have the time to make quick conversation, it was just that she was eager to go outside. She hadn’t been out this early in a long time. Especially on such a beautiful day. And so Xiomara continued her way out of the common room and into the dungeon corridor. Minutes later she stepped out of the Entrance doors and out into the fresh morning air. It took her aback a bit, the sun being so bright all of a sudden. It made her shield her eyes from it as she walked along the grounds, headed toward the park.
The air was quite chilly this particular morning, and she thought perhaps she should have worn a sweater. But the summer days were fading and she wanted to soak in the last of it’s ‘warmth’ even if it wasn’t exactly warm. And at this moment she made a mental note that she should go for a nice long jog later that evening, or perhaps tomorrow morning before class.
Xiomara entered the park, empty as it usually had been lately. She found herself sitting upon one of the lonesome swings, her feet grazing the ground as she pushed slightly, the swing making a creaking noise that disturbed the silence of the morning atmosphere. She wondered if anyone else ever realized the beauty in this park. It wasn’t much, but it was something. But she hadn’t come from London, or any of those other places that most of the wizards and witches had come from. She came from good old America. And to think she had come here five terms ago and would be graduated in two terms. She found this to be sort of depressing. She wished she could stay here forever with Nathaniel, Alex and Lils. The four of them made the best of friends, and she wasn’t sure what would happen without them by her side, once she was in the adult world that is.
Gah, contemplation.
