She took the letter from Barney who hooted gleefully and then flew back to a nest full of small owls. She grinned slightly, happy that he was so happy. He had found a mate, and now he had a bunch of kids. Aaryn had missed Barney a little, since she hadn't seen him in forever. She hadn't really had reason. Because, every time she came to the owlery, he had been busy and she hadn't gotten any notes. Now she had a note. Who was it from? She opened.

Dear Aaryn,

My name is Aubree Saeumi. I imagine how weird it must be to see this, but I'll explain everything, just meet me at the edge of the Courtyard Maze. ---

Aaryn stared at the note. Ohmigawd. This was not happening. She had a sister? But how? Her father had left her mom so long ago. IT was crazy. This was crazy. This must have been some nasty prank.
