Ravenclaw QuidditchTeam Try-outs

[Alan Moser]

Posting the message in the common room Alan had hoped to peak the interest of some of his housemates, but alas to no avail none had replied. So he decided to put on his Ravenclaw House Quidditch robes, now emblazoned with a "C" on the left shoulder, and made his way down to the pitch. Hoping that the turn-out this year would provide enough people to make the best team possible.

[Brie Alley]

Wandering around the Common Room, Brie noticed many of students reading a sign. Try-Outs for Quidditch. An idea struck her mind. Why not try-out? It wouldn't hurt. But it would hurt if you didn't make it. That was a bummer. It would be fun. She had been passed down a family broom. Her great uncle's broom. Her mom had never played either did he Dad. But it would be worth a try. Even if she didn't make it.


She walked down towards the Quidditch Pitch. Hoping that Alan Moser would be there. She smiled when she saw a figure in Ravenclaw Robes. She couldn't help but wanna run. But that would make her look desperate. She slightly jogged onto the field. When she had finally made it to the boy. She smiled. "Hi. I'm Brie Alley. Are you Alan Moser?"

"Well good mornin' Miss Brie, yes I am Alan Moser," he said giving her the once over as he answered her question. 'Hmm,' he thought to him self, 'small, lightweight, petite. Little wind resistance, hmm, maybe just maybe.'

"So what position will you be trying out for here lass?" he asked her still debating inside his own mind.

Mattias approached the Quidditch Pitch with much excitement, but also Nerves. Today had finally come. The start of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Try-outs. He had heard of the new Captain, Alan Moser, but did not know him. The boy had been chosen after Ashley Lupin, the former Captain, had graduated from the school to start her life outside of Trios. He wondered what job she had gone after, even though the two had never once clasped eyes upon one another. Merely shrugging though, he wandered onwards, his Firebolt over his shoulder, and dressed in his new Ravenclaw Quidditch Robes, with M.L on the front. They had both been a present from his parents.

There were only two students there as of now, but it was obvious more would come soon. The former team members of course, as well as others who wanted to tryout. "Good Morning," Ravie called to both of them, realising the other one there was Brie Alley. A friend of his, whom he had met last term. She was a very charming girl, whom he happened to get on with.

Once reaching them, he leant against the Broom, eyes upon the boy. Alan Moser, he assumed. "How are you both?" He asked. "I am Mattias Leonhart. I wish to tryout for Chaser," his speech how directed towards Alan, instead of both of them. Leonhart somewhat knew there was hope in him getting on the team, but it did not stop nerves. There might be others better than him, which would be his competition for the day. But he would battle throughout, in hope of making the Chaser Spot.

As Alan had spoken to her she smiled. "Uhm Probably. A Chaser." Brie wasn't quite sure where everyone was until Mattias Leonhart showed up. A grin went upon her face. At least someone she knew. When Mattias appraoched the group. She couldn't wait to talk to him. She didn't get to see him that much. Cause she was a second year. "Hey Mattias. I'm good How about you?" She looked around still no one.

It was always a nice surprise to see Brie, as these days they barely spoke anymore. It was basically because she was in Second Year now, and Mattias was merely a Firstie. The only time really these days, was when they shared classes together, such as Care of Magical Creatures. It saddened him, that he could not see his dear friend, but knew well, they would meet up soon enough to have a casual chat about such and such. He smiled to her, giving her a 'sort of hug', just to say Hello again. "It really is good to see you. I missed you." She was an incredible person, who he very much enjoyed talking too.

"I am fine Brie. Nervous about try-outs, but good. Have you been enjoying your classes?" Master Leonhart asked, looking towards Alan. He was yet to speak to him, but assumed he was going to let Mattias and Brie have a small chat before saying anything about try-outs. Also, the young man was probably waiting for others turning up. They had to come sooner or later.

[Selene Falicon]

Selene walked out onto the Pitch slowly, not sure what to expect. Last term she'd tried out, but they never said who'd made the team. At least, Selene never saw it posted anywhere. In fact, they hadn't even finished try-outs. Oh well. That was last term, and there was a new captain. Hopefully he would let them know sooner.

As Selene approached the center of the field, she saw three people there. She recognized Brie immediately, then 2 otehr boys she didn't know. One of them looked to be a lot older, so she assumed he was the Captain. She aprroached them quietly, still fairly shy. They all seemed to be talking to each otehr anyways and she didn't want to intrude. So she stood there quietly until someone addressed her or they began.

Mattias was the first to notice the entrance of fellow Ravenclaw. A smile breached his lips, as he turned to face her. "Hello there. Come to try-out?" Obviously. She had no other reason to be here. "I am Mattias Leonhart, trying out for the position of Chaser on the team," he introduced himself, giving a nod. She seemed perhaps in the same year as Brie, maybe above. Who knows. It was sometimes difficult to guess the age of another human being, but he occasionly tried his best.

[Selene Falicon]

Selene turned slightly to face a boy. She had thoguht he was talking to her, and she realized she was right when he introduced himself. "Hi. I'm Selene. I'm gonna try for chaser, but I would really be happy to play any part on the team...." Selene gave Mattias a small smile. He seemed to be pretty nice. And she could always use some more friends. She couldn't tell what year the boy was in, but he seemed to be younger than herself.

Her name was Selene name. Most certainly not a name you heard everyday, well not a name he especially had heard before. "Pleasure Selene," he muered. Ah, so she was also to try out for Chaser, just like him. That was quite nice to know, seeing as the both of them, if they both got onto the team, would be working together. As well as Brie, who he also believed was trying out for Chaser. The three of them together. It would give him a chance to make a new friend. But of course, Mattias Leonhart would have to get onto the team first. Hopefully, if he impressed the Captain, he would be a Ravenclaw Quidditch Player?

"I would like to thank you three for showing up," Alan said after coming out of his thoughts, as he evaluated each of them as they walked up, "I'm Alan, and I'm the keeper for the team, now are all of you familiar with the game, I know a lot of students come from muggle families, as well as pureblooded, and mixed families. I Now I'm sure that the three of you have a basic knowledge, but is there anything that is in need of clarification, while we wait a little while longer waiting for others to show up?"

"It is no problem Alan. I am glad to be here," the Ravenclaw smiled brightly. Nothing could ever keep him away from Quidditch ( well one thing could ) It was his passion, to play in the House Team. Because of his huge knowledge of the game, he had no questions to ask about it, but looked around at the other two, Brie and Selene. Hopefully they could get started soon, but others would have to turn up quickly. It actually annoyed him, how there were only three of them actually at the tryouts. There should be more; quidditch was a popular sport. He knew some couldn't play it, but others could.

Selene smiled at Mattias as he said 'Pleasure.' She wasn't really sure how to respond, so it was lucky that the captain then decided to make sure they all knew how to play. She thought hard, trying to think of any questions. She finally thoguht of one. "You can catch the snitch and still not win, right?" she asked. She had only played a few times, but it was a lot of fun. She needed something to do after classes, and this seemed like a great way to fill up those hours. The Ravenclaw knew she wasn't the best, but the best she could do was try, right?

"That's quite right miss Selene," Alan said to his rather small though highly dedicated group of player, "if say we were playing Sytherin and were up 160 to say oh 0. Catching the snitch is only worth 150 points which would make the score 160 to 150 making us the winners."

Selene nodded as Alan explained it. She had gotten that much right. She took a deep breath, and smiled bigger. Just do your best. That's all you can do. It didn't really boost her confidence, but the worst that could happen was she wouldn't make it. Thta wasn't too bad.

Chloie walked toward the quidditch pitch slowly.

Calm down, Chloie. It's not like you are the only one trying out. No one is going to be watching you specifically, except maybe the Captain, to make sure you should be on the team. Besides, what if you don't make it? You weren't even planning to try out.

She hadn't signed up, and for a moment, she wondered if she would even be allowed to try out because of this. But she did know how to play, and she knew that Ravenclaw needed some good players if they were going to win the House Cup this term. Not that she was really good, but she wasn't bad either.

Stopping a few times on her way to the pitch, Chloie almost went back to the castle, but finally decided to go ahead and try out. As she approached the other players, she drew in a deep breath, letting it out slowly and trying to smile. The third year turned to a boy who looked to be the eldest of the group. He had the most commanding and sure presence, and she figured he was probably the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain.

"Hi...um...I didn't get a chance to sign up; can I still try out? My name is Chloie White, and I'm a third year. I'm not amazing by any means, but I can play basically any position you need me in."

When being told about Hogwarts, one thing that particularly caught her attention was Quidditch. It seemed fascinating; just like playing football (soccer), but while flying in the air on a bewitched broomstick. So, when she found the Ravenclaw Quidditch tryouts posted, she grabbed her stuff and rushed to the Quidditch pitch.
When she arrived, she saw some people she didn't know by name, but she knew they were Ravenclaws because they were recgonizable from the Ravenclaw common room. Ju set her stuff near the edge of the field and took out her broom. She practiced a little bit before her arrival at Hogwarts, but otherwise, she was a novice at flying. Sure, she understood the concept of Quidditch and how the game worked, but had never played an actual game before. 'You never know if you don't try,' she thought to herself. Shyly, she walked up to the small group of Ravenclaws (most likely older than her).
"Is this where we go for the Quidditch tryouts?" Stupid question, she thought after she said it. Ju immediately regretted it; of course it was the Quidditch tryouts. But she decided not to let the other Ravenclaws catch on that she made a mistake. Maybe they never even noticed it.

Alright, so Ranka has been told that being a first year didn't give a very good chance at getting on the Quidditch team. But she was determined, and Ranka never gives in without a fight. Her head held high she made her way to the quidditch pitch, broom in hand. It wasn't the best state of broom,s but it would get her by for the Ravenclaw try - outs. And hopefully, it will get her on the team. Ruffling her long blond hair a bit, she ran her hand through it messily, her teeth and tongue playing around with the silver ring that dangled from her lower lip - on the left side. It was a nervous habit that Ranka had, always playing with it any chance she had. You can do it Ranka, I have Faith in you she told herself in thought as she entered the pitch.

She noted a few other people there [ obviously in Ravenclaw ], and the majority of them she did not know. Her crisp brown eyes studied the people as she walked toward them. A few of them seemed to know each other, the comfortable actions and conversation proved to her that these people have been on the team before. Other then that she saw two people who not only looked younger, but nervous about the try outs as well. Their body languages screamed first years at her just as hers probably did to the upper class men. though one of them seemed to be a bit older then first year - third maybe? Ranka couldn't be all too sure. Despite her nervous thoughts, Ranka didn't show it on the outside. She looked as confident as ever.

Walking over to the group Ranka placed her broom down and offered a wiry smile, looking around at the many faces that she had yet to learn the names of. "Ranka E. Molohov. First year looking for the position of Chaser" she greeted, not knowing exactly who was the Capitan. Though, it was nice to let people know what position she wanted. Looking around for someone to answer her, she kept biting on her lip ring, hoping not to get told that either the try outs where over, or the position was already filled.

"Welcome ladies, welcome," Alan said as he looked around to the group noting that he was the only guy, "as some of you know my name is Alan Moser, and I am the team captain and keeper this term, we now finally have enough players.. er... well almost enough players for a full team, but this should do for now as we're only down one player." This was the first time in years Alan had seen a an almost full roster for a Quidditch team, and was excited to see that they were excited to be there.

"Okay so I see that everyone has got a broom, good thing too," he said with a grin, "no one wants to use the ole' Comets in the shed, I hear that they were used when Dumbledore was a student here. So if everyone could grab their brooms and mount them, we'll go for a little flight around the pitch to warm everyone up, and then proceed from there."

Alan mounted his Firebolt, and watched as the others mounted their various brooms, waiting for them to signal that they were ready.
