Even the Best Practice { Slythies }

Everything that went around Alexander wasn't pretty much being taken into mind, in Alex's mind that is. He wasn't really paying attention to anything that had been told, explained, or probably even showed. He'd been oblivious to every single little thing. The only thing for sure that he listened to was that Xiomara had dismissed them. This was odd, at least in Alexander's perspective. It something he wouldn't have thought of X doing at all.

Nodding, Alexander lowered down to the ground, but didn't at all move from there. In fact he started heading towards the bench in which he sat so many times before, and looked up at the team. He wasn't planning on leaving. He had nothing pretty much to do at all, and besides that he wanted to leave the team strong for next term. He especially wanted Ethan, to gain lots of experience.

A thought came into mind. "Yet he's not exactly old to the team, I should still work with him, right?" He sighed, and brought his hand to his chin. "Ethan, stay along with the rest of the newbies. I want to create a strategy for you!" With a great sigh, Alexander looked at the newbies. He hoped Xiomara would go tough on them since they seemed to lack something that was key to winning. Teamwork.

Getting up, Alexander began to pace, with his arms crossed, and his head down.

At the sound of a whistle, Pierce whirled his broom around, finding the captain hovering next to Aaryn. The whole group had come over, including himself, and Pierce raised his eyebrows as she dismissed the majority of the group. He followed the group down onto pitch, sighing as he dismounted his broom, leaning it against his shoulder. Testing them the hard way? What did she mean by hard?

He watched idly, his weight on his left leg as she started on Aaryn. The drill didn't seem so hard, at first. She seemed like a good beater. He quirked an eyebrow as she charmed the other beater to become invisible. Odd. Well, a drill was a drill, and he supposed that it would be very good practice for Aaryn. He smiled, amused at the task she had to take before looking to Xiomara as she addressed him.

You seem to let your ego get the best of you... He raised an eyebrow again, curious as to why she'd say that. He had only done what she'd instructed him to do. That's rather presumptuous, who is she to say my ego gets the best of me? She was being rather rude, in his opinion. Yelling at everyone like they didn't know anything. But, it was her job to get them to be the best players, so he couldn't exactly hold it against her. Although, he could do without the cold little look she was giving him.

Pierce looked at the wand curiously as she directed it toward him, and before he could react she'd already cursed him. At first he thought she'd just lost it, but then his vision began to blur. He shifted, holding his broom tightly with one hand, the other at his side as his vision faded. "The hell?" The damned woman had blinded him. He could barely tell whether or not his eyes were open. Now this was a bit much, he could get hurt for heaven's sake.

As soon as he'd heard Take this, Pierce raised a hand in front of him so that it wouldn't go and hit him in the face. The quaffle hit the side of his hand, and he fumbled a moment with it, trying to get a good grip. He brought it to his chest firmly, and closed his eyes. Not like they were any use open, anyway. He mounted his broom, pushing off and high into the air, listening for any signs of X, trying to remember what position he was on the pitch.

The goals had been behind him, so he swiveled around. Off to the side he heard one of the beaters hitting a bludger, keeping each other busy. Xiomara had passed him up, so he flew in the direction he'd heard her going. He leaned in on his broom, accelerating. He was going off to the side, heading near the lower left hoop. Thinking he might be close, Pierce straightened up on his broom, raising the quaffle and firing it off to where he hoped it land through one of the hoops. Really, he was way off. His throw was too high and too far away, it would fall short.

Nathaniel didn't give notice to what had happened after he caught the quaffle, but Xiomara's voice stretched as far as the golden posts when she shouted at Aaryn. What happened? Listening in carefully, he couldn't get anything out besides the call for the older members to be excused from today's practice. Pfft, he was just getting started, but Nathaniel would rather respect her wishes.

So he descended from the sky and onto the ground along with the rest. Alexander had other plans by the look of it for Ethan. He only nodded to him with a faint smile. "See you later." With that Nathaniel slowly walked off the field, only then hearing Xiomara's tasks for the other three newer teammates. He set himself to the side of the entrance and leaned against the wall of one of the towers.

They had it harsher than he and Xiomara ever had when they were beginning. The charms casted on both members, he watched the younger girl disappear while the other go blind. He smirked while enjoying this sight. He couldn't have done it any better himself, but they needed to be taught a lesson as well as how to improve their skills to be the best.

Ethan became rather worried about his older sister. Her entrance showed a bad sign of depression in her, and well of course he didn't feel comfortable with her in that situation. Never did Lillian Ann have a frown that was actually meant to be there. Plus, she never was pretty much serious. She'd always be playing around, trying to plot some evil deed. But that wasn't the case at all today. He nodded at his sister and didn't mind to accompany her to wherever they were going.

Looking over at Xiomara, Ethan took a deep breath, haven taken the broom from Alexander already, giving a him a smile that showed him his gratitude for such a favor, and kicked off his broom. In the air, Xiomara had been talking, teaming up each person, and so on. Of course Ethan had his sister's problem in mind. He couldn't bare see her like that, but sometimes it was just good to let other sulk on their own before going to comfort them.

Shaking his head and closing his eyes, attempting to ignore the fact that his sister seemed in such a state, Arexamus headed began to head towards Alex, but a whistle had screeched through the soft wind. He and the rest of the old members had been dismissed and this was something new to Alex. He felt a bit of a relief of himself but yet disappointed because of the fact that he wanted to actually do something.

Having over with a frown on his face, Ethan began flying through the pitch heading towards the exit when Alexander had been screamed to Ethan about some kind of strategy he had in mind. Of course, this brightened Ethan's face. Ethan in reality had nothing else to do, besides trying to study for stupid exams but that was all. Swifting through the sky, Ethan headed over Alexander. With a slight grin. Apparently, Ethan's mood had lifted a bit. Something that wasn't as much common.

But inside of him, there was something boiling. Yet unknown.

Pierce didn't like being blind. At all. It was ridiculously irritating that he couldn't even tell whether or not his eyes were open. Unless a wind blew by and made them dry out. He'd opened his eyes, turning his head to the sound of his captain coming near him, her clearing her throat the only sign that she was. He felt the small disturbance in the wind as she stopped beside him, and turned his head to look blindly at her.

The change in tone surprised him, what happened to the tough-guy, or girl, whatever, captain image? Not that he was complaining; it was a pleasant change. It was just... odd. He took the quaffle, holding it idly to his side. Pierce looked forward, supposedly where the goal posts were, his head down as he listened to what she was instructing. It made sense, but how was he supposed to concentrate with the constant sound of a bat and a bludger? Ugh, the blindness was not fun. But he'd try, for the sake of just getting better.

At her instruction, Pierce imagined just a blank quidditch field, trying to clear his mind of the sounds and goings on around him. And her voice, of course. He focused on her general presence, making sure to stay focused on where she was at and the sounds made by her certain movements. He took in a deep breath, nodding as she finished her little speech.

He'd like to see her try this blind. He was sure that she was a fantastic chaser, but it was freaking hard to throw a quaffle blindly and try to get it in a damned hoop. It wasn't as easy as she made it sound. Not to mention he wasn't exactly cut out for the position. After all, he hadn't applied for it, she'd just set him to chaser instead of seeker. But, as long as he was still on the team, he'd make an attempt to get better at whatever position he held.

Pierce drew in a breath, heaving it out irately. All right. Blankness, nothing else going on around him except Xiomara. He blinked, still seeing nothing, eyes focused ahead of him, but blank. He relaxed himself, trying to listen in on the sound of the captain moving. She wasn't very far away, but she was leaning toward the right of him. She kept moving, damn her. He gripped the quaffle firmly, swerving his broom as she moved.

After a moment, he decided to aim for the left hoop, since Xiomara was around the middle or right one. With a swift movement of his arm, the quaffle was thrown. And then he heard the twang of a hard object hitting metal. "Uggh.." The ball had bounced on the inside of the hoop. Whether it had gone through or not, he didn't know. He brought a hand up, rubbing his forehead, just above his eyes. He began to see his palm, and looked at it, then up, resting his hand back against his broom. "Spell's worn off, Xiomara."

"Likewise, I opt to stay X."

I don't have anywhere else to go goes unsaid as she looks away briefly. Lillian's shoulders are tensed, as though she expects rejection now, before shrugging it off, blue eyes instead watching Ethan and Alexander. If those two didn't stop throwing her glances, she'd hex the two of them. She lifts in the air slightly higher now, from where she had dropped when called out, eyes calculating as she examined each member separately. Yet at the same time, she does not see them, eyes gazing through them as though ghosts, as she is far to tired to truly know what she wants to do at this moment.

"It'd be best if I learned each members habits, as to know the most advantageous ways to tackle my own assignment."

If nothing else, the flourish to Lillian's words gave away that she was tired, as she unconsciously shifted back to her taught ways. But the words seemed to snap her out of her own slurr, and she smiled softly at the group, though it's tentative.. Popping her neck she hovers now, gazing thoughtfully, trying to catergorize each person. Their twitches, natures, and whether she can expect them to be stupidly reckless. It would be easier as the term wore on, the more she grew to know their personality, the more she'd know of them on the pitch.

"Besides, it'll be easier that way"

X had her methods, Lils had hers, and they didn't include blinding members of the team, though Lillian found it amusing,, Lils found it... lacking in tact.. You didn't blind them this early on atleast.. Simply because you'd yet to earn their full truth, and it'd be dangerous to let one go off on a fool errand.. A snort left her, insanely unlady-like, but she couldn't careless, as she ran pale fingers through her hair. This would be amusing to watch at least, and she had needed something to lighten her day.

Bloody hell, this womans insane. Pierce was only doing what he told him to do!

Aaryn seemed to have gotten the better end of the bargain, at least she could see. She smirked slightly as Mistuh Sketch fumbled with the ball slightly. Aaryn wondered if she was expected to say something. She wouldn't do it, anyway. She wasn't about to say sorry, she had only done what she thought was right. It wasn't her fault the Captain had been unclear. She didn't hate the Captain, but it would be a stretch for her to consider her a friend. She understood her the Captain's reasoning, but it didn't mean Aaryn much fancied it.

The wind whooshed around her, a bit faster than the rest of the wind. She knew this must be Symantha. She listened for more wind, but didn't catch any for a bit longer. Then she heard a WHOOSH from behind and she swerved around, just in time to see a bludger fly through the air. She took her bat and swung it hard in the direction from which it came, hoping to hear the thud of metal on body. She wouldn't have anymore bludgers to block that way.

The sound never came. She cursed silently under her breath as the bludger came back to her. She aimed it, raising her bat, holding it with both arms. She hit it back. Again, it came back to her. She hit it in another direction, getting rid of the bludger, but knowing there were more where that came from. She was right. Another bludger came speeding towards her.

She raised her arms, and it flew over her bat. Well, it wasn't as if it was hit her. Another came and she raised her bat to hit it, but it flew at her arm. She felt it break and she bit down on her bottom lip, biting back a cry of pain. She set her right arm down beside her and raised her bat again. Her swing would be weaker with one arm, since it was her worse arm. She groaned inwardly. She'd need to go to the Hospital Wing. But she wouldn't ask the Captain to stop, she didn't think it hurt that bad.
