Aly sat on the ground right in front of the Enchanted Garden. She was hoping that by chance a boy would come along and they could talk or something. Aly hadn't made any real friends here at Hogwarts yet and she wanted some really bad. Maybe even a boyfriend. Lady Luck hadn't shared anything yet so Aly remained alone most of the time.
'I wonder if this rain will ever stop?' Aly asked herself.
David sighed as he walked around the Enchanted Garden with his hood up over his head. The rain was pouring upon him and even with the hood coving him he was still drenched from head to toe. His brown hair that was starting to look slightly shaggy was now plastered over his forehead, nearly causing his hazel eyes to be camouflaged behind the mess. And his clothes where doing a similar thing making him look more long and lanky than usual.
After a moment or two of wondering aimlessly he had covered most of the Garden and decided that the rain was annoying even though he liked the outdoors.. He started toward the entrance to the tunnel and off to the side of him he heard a voice and glanced over to see a blond girl sitting on the ground speaking to herself clearly as no one else was around to listen that he saw. "It doesn't seem very promising."
David squinted through the rain that was falling into his eyes and stinging them to see the girl better and walked over so that he was standing beside her, or more like towering above her from his position. Standing at six foot it did make you seem rather tremendous when one was sitting on the ground at your feet. Even though David wasn't much of a talker he was feeling rather lonely today. He hadn't saw his sister around for a while and he didn't really have friends here.
So it seemed that fate had strategically placed this girl here so that he would have someone to talk to. And fate would probably be rather irritated with Dave if he just walked off and left her careful planning and brilliance to the wind. Or the rain would seem a bit more appropriate at this point in time. "Mind if I join you?" He questioned, trying his best to seem pleasant and friendly.
When the girl spoke and said that he could join her David smiled slightly and then sat himself down beside the girl as she said her name was Aly Linkin. Once he got himself situated on the ground he extended his hand over to her. "I'm David Street. Nice to meet you Aly."
As he sat there he tried to pull his shirt away from his skin with his free hand which caused a crazy noise to sound. Finally he gave up on it and looked back over at the girl. "So, what house are you in Aly?"
As the girl replied to him, David gave her a slight nod at her question of his being a Slytherin. "You would be right.. And no. I'm not on the quidditch team." He raised his eyebrow slightly before looking away from the girl. "It would be rather difficult to be on the time without knowing how to fly on a broom." He chuckled at the thought and then looked back at the girl. "How about you?"
Dave could tell that the girl was either nervous or already bored with him as she had preoccupied herself with twirling her hair around her finger for the time being. Giving her a tiny smile he looked off again, toward the flowers that where now starting to droop slightly from the weight of the rain.
David smiled at Aly which made her smile back. "Oh really? You don't know how to fly on a broom? Would you want me to help you learn? I'm sure you'll get the hang of it if we practiced once or twice. Once you get it it's not too complicated. You can trust me when you're flying on a broom because I'm the Seeker on the Mihael team. I know a little bit 'bout flying. So, do you want help?" Aly asked.
She stopped twirling her hair because she thought that he might think that she was bored with him. Aly tilted her head to the side just a bit, to the right. She also did this when she talked with people.
When the girl spoke again he grinned slightly at her and thought about it for a moment. "Yeah, I've never flown on a broom.. Muggleborn.. The only thing I have done with a broom is sweep the kitchen floor when Lilly didn't want to do it." He laughed and then raised his eyebrow slightly as he pondered learning to ride a broom. There was a class for it but he didn't really want to take a class that was optional. In fact he didn't go to the ones that where required of him.
David looked back at the girl who had her head tilted to the right and he grinned slightly. "I might actually take you up on that... If it wouldn't be too much of a bother or anything. I'm sure that you have friends to hang out with and quidditch to practice for and all sorts of other activities." He gave a slight smirk as he looked away again. He had never really been great at small talk and if talking involved someone helping him it was usually that much harder.
He had always been independent and he didn't really like excepting help from anyone but he had been doing it a lot more here lately, mostly from his aunt and uncle and his sister.
"Oh, it's not too much trouble at all. I do have Quidditch practice sometimes and I need to study too but besides that I really don't have many friends that I actually talk to besides classes. About 5, yeah 5 that's all. You included. Which is cool because everyone else who are my friends are Mihaels so I think that's cool that I made friends with a Slytherin. Not that there's anything wrong with being one. I have a dark side too, you know." Aly giggled as she tried to make a scary face but ended up laughing harder.
