Class 3: Fifth Through Seventh Years

[Queety White]

Queety didn't mean to pick favorites, but this group was definately her favorite. Not only was it an intellectual group of people who were always into the discussion, two of Queety's good friends were in this class. Though Queety's best friend, Lillian Ann, had not come since the first class [though she was known to often disappear], her other friend, Avery, was now a fifth year and in this class. Queety looked forward to some fun this class, even if it was the last class of the day.

Class 3: Years 5-7

The beginning of the education: Harry's First Year in Hogwarts.

Was she actually going to class? It was her first in a month, maybe... As she walked through the door, she was frowning, something that had become something of a habit. HOM wasn't her favorite subject, ever since her first year. Everyone kept spying in their textbooks for the answer, when none of them really actually knew the answer.. It was really depressing. And then they did this butt-annoying quiz game whatever where it was Ravenclaws and... Slytherins? on one team and Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws on the other, with Mihaels mixed between...

Guess who won?

If you said Hufflepuffs, you should go bash yourself in the lake. So, Terra was still sore from losing, angry at being stupid and unable to answer anything, and pissed that people were being so insolent as to lecture more than the teacher. Disgusting. But when she looked up at the board today, her mood lightened fractionally.

They weren't learning about history... They were learning about the Headmistress' hubby? She smiled, just a little.

"Isn't that, like, intruding on personal information?" she asked the Professor without thinking. "Did he already approve of this topic?"

Queety shook her head. "I know it's kind of weird learning about Harry, especially when his wife is our headmistress, but I've checked it out and it's all good," she said, smiling. "And besides, fifth through seventh years are supossed to learn modern history and Harry Potter is a big deal in modern history. I'm still trying to get him to come into class for a day, but he has a really tight schedule and the chances are kinda slim. But I'm still trying."

10 points to Hufflepuff for being the first to arrive.

[Selene Falicon]

Selene walked slowly out of Potions and headed towards the HoM room. The Ravenclaw enjoyed HoM whenever Queety taught it, but that was usually the only time. Queety seemed to make classes mroe fun, somehow. If she really thought about it, though, she seemed to do the same as all the other teachers. Maybe it's just because We're actually allowed to call her by her first name, unlike most teachers. Yes, that must be part of it...

She neared the room and planted a pleasant smile on her face, As soon as she entered the room, though, it fell to a frown. There were only two students in the room (including herself) and the other one was Terra. Of course it is! Why don't I just shoot myself now? she asked herself sarcastically. She took the seat furthest away from Terra as possible, trying to ignore the girl. She puled out a parchment and wrote down what was on the board. It seemed like it would be an interesting class.

[Holden J. Caulfield]

Holden walked into the History of Magic classroom. He knew he wasn't late to this class unlike Charms. [sigh] Holden walked over to an empty desk and sat down. He pulled out his book, parchment, and a quill. Holden put one elbow on the desk and his chin in his hand. Hopefully more students would show up. He hadn't talked to Avery, Jess, or Jackson much.[/size]

Amanda was going to make an effort to do more in History of Magic. Perhaps she may had been too lazy the last couple of classes, feeling slightly declined toward history, but she couldn't just grasp onto the subject. No, she needed to pay attention to her studies, including this class, and do more. If she had to, she'd personally go to the professor herself and receive private lessons or any homework to do.

But maybe she was being too ambitious? Amanda couldn't shake off the thought of being top in her class, trying her best, and earning her house a title in the end. Hah, quidditch would never begin in her time, it would be a miracle. Anyway, she headed down the hall, and to the HOM classroom where several students and the professor were already present.

Smiling faintly, she took a seat in the middle of class, probably toward the right side, and took out her book. She scrounged around for her quill and ink, some parchment paper, and ouch! She knicked her finger on something sharp. Bleh. Must've been my broken quill.

[Éowyn Lovegood]

Éowyn walked into the HoM classrrom and saw that there were many students there already "Curses". She muttered under her breath. Éowyn smiled at Queety and took a seat in the middle row and waited for the lesson to begin.

[Jodi Peterson]

It was History of Magic time. 'Yay,' Jodi thought her herself as she walked toward the classroom. This term they'd been learning about Harry Potter. It was an interesting subject for Jodi, as she'd read much about it. But there came a time when too much information was just annoying. She felt that maybe next they would learn about how he folded his underwear or something. It annoyed Jodi just a little, but she didn't let it show. After all, she had a reputation to uphold.

As Jodi walked through the door the to classroom, she spotted Holden and Amanda straight away. She stood at the door, torn between who to sit with. Her captain or dear captain, or her friend Holden, who seemed to be a little quiter then usual. Then she spotted Terra. Giving a sigh she walked toward Amanda, past Holden. "Hey Holden," she said with a smile, as she sat down in the middle row with Amanda. "Oh captain dear captain, saviour of all things great. Tell me, how do you be so perfect?" she said, a wild grin on her face.

<sup>History of Magic. This was probably her least favorite class, mostly because she spent most of the lesson listening to things she'd already heard. It wasn't often that she was surprised by anything in the class. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, she'd missed the first two lessons. She only hoped that she wouldn't miss another. Perhaps this year, she'd be proven wrong. Maybe this professor would have some tricks up his/her sleeve.

Upon entering the classroom, she was hit with her first surprise...Queety White. Natalia remembered the former Mihael, and though she never knew her personally, she knew of her reputation for fun. Perhaps she'd be able to stay awake. Finding herself a seat toward the back of the classroom, she wanted to play the role of observer today. She had the perfect view of the entire classroom from her spot, so she could watch the professor and the students interact.</sup>

[Terra Kent]

Terra listened to the Professor, but was surprised to see and hear other students walking in almost right after she did. Wow. She was lucky to be first. She nodded to the Professor, the only remotely interesting "thanks" she could muster, and made her way to a desk near the front. Not exactly in the front row, of course. And it was a bit more on the right side of the room than in the direct center.

She looked dully around after sitting down, just to see who was there she might recognize. Well, there was Holden; he'd been around for about forever. Tear didn't really know him, but still. She'd seen him around a bunch of times. They weren't friends, by any chance. She also noticed a girl, also her year... Amanda somebody? She was the one who quit the gossip column. Pity.

Then there was Selene. Why don't I just make up with her now...? she asked herself. But she didn't move from her seat. No... She just sat there, wondering when she would stand up to go over to Selene. She caught herself staring at the Ravenclaw and looked away quickly, trying to figure out if she recognized anyone else. Three upperclassmen girls... But that was it. She looked down at her desk, as if she was interested in its surface or something.

She laid her arms on the desk, then her head, eyes down towards the uninteresting desk. She was frowning but wouldn't let anyone else see. Instinctively, the closest thumb reached up and stroked the three barely-there lines that defined her right cheek. No... How could she ever make up with Selene?

[Joe Moon(gone)]

Joe entered the room. It wasn't his favorite class of the day but he might as well come and learn. On the board surprised him when it said: Harry's first year at Hogwarts. Well this is going to be intresting. For all we know we have to interview for homework. Joe sighed. There was Amanda and Jodi that he knew sitting down. Also more students inside that he didn't know well. Joe took a seat in the middle and waited.[/size]

Queety grinned, glad to see the awesome turnout. This was why this was her favorite group to teach. They all seemed excited to be there. Well, at least most of them looked that way. Queety could sense some tension between the students. The sides of her lips turned down a little bit, but she figured it would be best just to ignore it.

"Okay, guys," she said. "As it says on the board, we will be discussing the very first year at Hogwarts that Harry Potter was here. We fast forward from when he was sent to the Dursleys to ten years later when he is an eleven year old boy. Now, although Dumbledore thought it would be best to leave Harry there, and whether or not it was is still up for discussion. However, Harry was miserable because his aunt and uncle treated him like dirt. They refused to tell him he was a wizard, let alone a famous one, so he always thought he was just a freak.

"However, that changed when he recieved a letter- or rather many letters, as his uncle kept trying to get rid of them, saying that he was a wizard and excepted into this school. The year was 1991. I don't know about you guys but I was only one year old then. Anyways, the letter came in the hands of a half-giant named, um..."

Queety glanced at her notes on her desk, deciding that she should start memorizing them before class. "Rubeus Hagrid. This man later befriended Harry. But anyways, he came to the Dursleys and Harry and explained everything.

"So, do you guys remember when you first found out you were coming to this school and, if you were muggleborn, you were a witch or wizard? Does anyone want to share their experience?"

[Selene Falicon]

After Selene finished writing, she started to look around the room again. She'd forgotten to bring a book to read while she waited. She looked over at Terra and saw the Hufflepuff look away. I guess she was staring at me. I wonder why... Oh well, like it matters. She hates me anyway. She was brought back from her thoughts as Queety started class. Selene took notes as Queety spoke, making sure they were accurate (though she guessed how to spell Rubeus).

She couldn't help but laugh a little hear and there at his story. It was so much more intersting than when she got her letter. Then Queety asked if anyone wanted to share their story of when thye got their letter. Selene immediately made sure her hand wasn't anywhere high so that it could be interpreted as her raising her hand. There was no way she would share. People wouldn't listen anyways, and she didn't want them too either.

[Jodi Peterson]

Jodi took noted down, as the Professer was talking. When asked if she wanted to share her experiance with the class, she decided maybe she could.

"I'm a halfblood. I found out that my mother was a witch when i came home from muggle school one day, and she was cooking with a wand. I was 10ish at the time. I started at Hogwarts when I was 15. I never really had experimented with Magic until i came to the school, although I had read a lot about magic and magical history. I liked coming to the school. I had to leave all of my muggle friends though. It wasn't too bad for me, but I did feel very lonely for the first few terms," Jodi said in a loud voice, hoping people from around the class could hear her.

Jodi could imagine what Harry had felt. It was something Jodi was very skilled in, sympathise with other people. If Jodi had felt like the person before, she knew how to give advice to others. But if she hadn't felt the same wat as another person, we was always able to walk in someone elses shoes. One of the reasons Jodi was in Hufflepuff. She is understanding and excepting of everyone.

[Queety White]

Queety nodded. "So you were very aware of your magical talent. You knew that the letter would one day come to you and let you come here," she said. "Well, I think you're one of the lucky ones. Being halfblood meant you saw the best of both worlds. But anyways..."

She began pacing around the desks, looking at the students. "Are there any muggleborns who would like to share their experiences?"

[Alessa Gillespie]

Making her way threw the doors of the class, she was a bit dissapointed that she was late to this class. Though on the upside her goonie was there with her. Amanda was sitting near a empty seat. Smiling Alessa walked over and sat down next to her best friend. Feeling a bit bad that she was late for class. Taking out her things for class not before whispering "Hello" to her. She smiled a bit, for Alessa was feeling a bit happy today for once, even with the Dezi drama going on around the school. She was starting to feel like maybe, Amanda was right. Dezi wasnt the one for her.

[Astrid D'aubigne]

Not only did Astrid enjoy History of Magic because it was an interesting subject, but she loved it because the professor was so amazing and entertaining. Professor White made it so that Astrid would actually want to pay attention. Astrid knew that once she graduated, she would love to attend college and major in HoM, but she knew that she wouldn't be as amazing of a teacher as Queety.

"No one wants to share? That's no big deal. I'll do so," Queety grinned. She sat back on the desk and sighed. It seemed like so long ago and yet just yesterday. She did not know whether she wanted to live those days again or savor them as memories.

"I was fourteen years old, a weird, little, muggle girl who lived in the US. It was in the North East in a region called New England. I knew I was different. I didn't have too many friends, aside from those few close friends. But I was fine with that. Actually, I've lost contact with a lot of them now but two of them still send me letters once in a while. They know I'm a witch.

"Well, anyways," Queety continued, slowing down. She really hated this part of her past. "A man came to my house one day and said that he was from the newly reopened Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He explained to me that the school had closed down because of a war but had recently reopened with the new name Trio's Hogwarts, named after a trio that saved the school. He told me I was a witch and that immediately set off my parents. Since that day, they have not been happy about me having magical powers. They did not want me suddenly going to England either."

Queety always hated how her parents never fully approved of her going to this school. What she hated even more is how they had tried to pull her out of it. But that was a secret she would keep to herself for a long time.

"So, I, wanting to try this out and thinking that this was the reason why I was weird, begged my parents to let me go. I promised them that when I was a fully grown witch, I would make their life much easier," Queety said, softly. She had yet to fufill that promise. "I had done everything in my power so they would let me attend this school. Finally, they had agreed under the condition that I do my absolute best. And, hopefully, I have."

Queety paused and took a deep breath. She had not told that full story to anyone in a long time. "So, Hagrid had explained everything to Harry and 'convinced' his aunt and uncle to let him go, he made his way to this school. And, in fact, this classroom was one of those that wasn't destroyed in the War that we will be talking about later. So, Harry Potter had indeed been in this classroom at your age and even sat in one of your seats," she giggled.

"So, here's an easy question. When Harry got here, what house was he sorted into?"

[Jodi Peterson]

Jodi listed as Quetty talked. She knew the answer to her question too. But lately she'd been called a teacher's pet, always answering questions in class. But then again, Jodi knew that she shouldn't be afraid of judgement from other people. She knew that better than anyone.

"Harry was placed in Gryffindor, along with Hermonie and Ron. The same house that his parents had been in," Jodi replied loudly.

[Terra Kent]

After Miss Queety's questions and her own Hogwarts story, Terra was a bit uncomfortable. She wasn't so good at listening to other peoples' stories... It was awkward, since she never felt like sharing anything herself. Her eyes slowly closed. Not because she was tired, of course. It was sort of just to try and clear her mind. It was still a little muggy from being away from the school for such a long time... With her parents...

And then Miss Queety said something about Harry Potter sitting in their seats... She shifted just a little, unnerved. She didn't enjoy the idea of a fully grown man (though he'd probably been younger than she was now) having sat in the very seat she was now sitting in. She didn't quite know why it was so weird. Lots of other students probably sat in her current seat at times. She kept her mouth shut as the Hufflepuff Head Girl told answered with "Gryffindor".

At least Harry Potter hadn't been in Hufflepuff...
