Final Class: Fifth through Seventh Years

Queety could not even believe that the term was almost over. This was her final class for the fifth through seventh years. A lot of them would be graduating and moving onto the real world. There would be some who just bumped up a year and then there would be students that Queety would now be teaching, the students who went to their first HOM class with her as a TA.

Two terms since she graduated herself and Queety could barely believe how much she had changed and grown. She had come to love this job and living in the castle. This was exactly what she wanted and where she wanted to be.

But why did time have to move so damn quickly?

Queety came into the classroom with a cake in her arms. As a tribute to the seventh years that would be graduating, she figured it would be nice to give them a little party. There wasn't too much to go over this class. And the next class would be the final exam so Queety figured the fun could be now.

She placed the cake on her desk and went over to the board. She wrote:

History of Magic
Professor: Queety
Class 4: Years 5-7
Preparing for exam day

Then she opened the door to her classroom, ready for her students to come in. This was going to be a good class, even though it was raining outside that afternoon.

The term was almost over. Thank you. Fifth term hadn't been his most favorite term so far. Personally Holden liked his second term. He only hoped that his sixth term would be fun and exciting.

The Hufflepuff walked into the last lesson for History of Magic. Getting ready for the big exam. Gulp! Holden hoped that he would pass. He had been good about going to all his lessons unlike last term.

Next term he would take more classes than he normally would. Now he had to start thinking about what he wanted to be after he graduated. Gasps! Hopefully there was an opening somewhere or maybe he could help with Muggle Studies since he was a Muggleborn.

Holden walked to an empty seat and sat down. There were many empty seats to choose from since no one was in there but him and the professor. He got out his books and waited for the lesson to begin.

Less than a month until the term was finished. Finite. Done! She couldn't believe it. Well she could because Amanda looked forward to break and promoting another year, hopefully. However, for now, she dreaded coming to History of Magic because she was never really good with history. But who knows what today would hold, right?

She entered the classroom, her messenger bag slung over her shoulder, and eyes scanning the room for a place to hide. Instead, she saw cake, the message on the board, and the Professor and Holden. Now the cake really looked good and probably was the only factor to calming her nerves today. Afterall, it was just a review day, right?

Turning down an aisle, she smiled to Holden as she passed him by, but not before messing up his hair as her fingers ran through those dark locks of his. That was for messing up her hair the other day at the library. But Amanda changed her hair recently, just temporarily. It was for fun! So now she was some hot fiery chick! Rawr!

Amanda took a seat a few desks behind Holden, then retrieving an ink-filled quill and some parchment for the review. Also to include her leftover notes beforehand.

The final lesson....

Those words were a little happier than the last day. The last day was when you will leave forever, to the real world. The last lesson is just that that would be one lesson sort. The exams would be any time whichs sucks but that is life. You just have to prepare for it and get it over with. Soon it would be all over. Soon...

Joe walked in the classroom knowing that this would be the last time that he would be in this room even though normally that this would be his least favorite class but the Ravenclaw has to take it anyways. There were only three people there. Amanda, a guy that he sees once in a while like from walking past each other and not saying hi to, and the Professor that was it so far. He found a seat in the middle row and sat down like he still does.[/size]

Presenting Forbid Ayae Jaganshi! Nnn; all half awake and hair partially messed. Honestly she hadn't meant to sleep for so long. It was only meant to be a short nap but apparently it didn't turn out that way. In the end, she was rushing toward History of Magic for the first time in... a long time... and 'twas hoping to death that she didn't end up late for her little break, which turned out to not be so little. She ran her hands through her still purple hair in an attempt to release a few of the tangles. A couple of times her fingers got caught in the mess but she always managed to pull through. Nya~ She ceased the combing out of her hair and instead focused on making the right turns to get to class. 'Twas not fun... not fun at all...

Yet she did manage to find it and sighed, stepping into the room. Surprise, surprise! She wasn't late yet. Wow. What a miracle. There were only three other people in there excluding the Professor. She kept her head bowed and carefully made her way to a seat in the back, paying a glance to at the board. Preparing for exam... I hate exams... Bleh. Soon the term would be over and she actually felt quite a bit anxious about that. Nnn. Any friends she had were all in the younger years so they would be here... for a while... Hopefully at the very least Sasuke would make it through his last three terms and then she'd have someone to be around, that she knew. Apparently making friends with the more normal-ish people wasn't her forte.

Another sigh and she dropped her head on the desk, still drowsy from her nap. Gah. Hopefully this wouldn't last too long, or at least wouldn't provide her with a headache. She seemed to be getting those more and more lately. That definitely wasn't a good sign. Was she getting sick again? That would be just her luck really. Many things were out to get her sick... Moe, moe. And she didn't want to go to the infirmary. She'd have a spazz attack. Spazz... Hehe... Fun word...

Queety grinned to know that there were so many students interested. She got up and looked at her class. There were a couple of the usual students, those trying to make up for lost work and even one student whom Queety had barely seen in last classes. Well, this was going to be a big class, especially because it is the last one before their final exam. Queety was hoping to review everything so they would all be ready for their final. Beause their final was, for many of her students, the only way they were going to pass onto their next year.

"Okay, guys, let's get started on the lecture. We left off with Harry and his friends going down to get the Sorcerer's stone. Does anyone know what that stone is for?"

Ten points to Hufflepuff for being the first to arrive, Holden.

Holden leaned back in his seat as he waited for class to begin. Amanda walked in and some other boy Holden had never talked to but had in his Care of Magical Creatures class. That class had ended sooner than Holden wanted but that wasn't his choice and there were some problems that were hopefully getting sorted out.

Before Professore White began continuing from their last lesson another girl had walked in. Holden knew this girl and had talked to her a couple times but hadn't talked to her in ages. And I mean ages. Try third year ages ago.

His hand shot up when Professory Queety White asked a question about Harry Potter and his friends. "The Philospher's Stone gives you the elixer of life? It heals you completely?" Holden was taking a stab at it. He hadn't brushed up on his Harry Potter knowledge in ages.

Final class? Really? Jasmine sat in her desk confused. Did she really miss that many lessons? Oh, great no she knew that she wasn't going to pass. Sitting with her parchment and quill she took down notes. Lord know she was going to need them, badly.

Astrid was pleased that it was the final class. It wasn't that she didn't like History of Magic. Heck, she adored it. It was just that since it was the final class, it meant that the Summer holiday was approaching. Astrid couldn't wait for the summer, because she planned on spending it with her friends. She had already promised a few of her friends that they could go back to her place and spend the summer there.

Avery was late for the last History of Magic class. Great. That sooo wasn't good. Rushing down the corridors, she slipped inside and shot Queety an apologetic smile. She saw Amanda and Holden and gave Amanda a smile and a whispered, "Hello," as she moved to sit next to Holden. Then, she gave him a kiss on the cheek and said, "Heyyy."

She didn't say anything else, though, since she knew class had begun and they were talking. What ever they were talking about, she'd soon find out.

Kaelyn didn't know why she bothered coming to class now. There was no way she was going to pass. She was always so distracted this time of year. Blinking tiredly, she threaded her fingers through her hair and took a deep breath before entering the History of Magic classroom.

She hadn't shown up to many classes, but she'd studied her textbook fairly well. She maybe she would do well on the final exam and...

It was hopeless. She would have to rely on her attendance to her other classes to pass her onto her sixth year. Because she couldn't fail. She just couldn't. She was a prefect for goodness sake! Prefects can't stay back a year!

Taking a seat in the nearest empty chair she could find she dumped her bag on the floor and looked around. At least the class hadn't really started yet. Being on time was definitely a plus. Resting her head on her desk she heaved another sigh and waited for someone to say something.

[Landon Tilbrook]

Landon was late for his finally class. It was hard to believe when he first woke up thism ourning but now he was just reliaved. He pushed his way through to corridors and finally arrived at the door of History of Magic. He wondered if he had missed anything but he was only a couple of minutes late so it probably wasn't much.

He entered the classroom and took a seat in them iddle of the room. He always liked sitting in the middle for some reason. He got his things organised and looked up at the board only to let his heart sink. The exams came into his head. He had been studyin so hard, maybe a little too hard. The pressure was getting worse as the days passed for him and others. He sighed.

He leaned down in his seat and just tuned in and listened like he did in most of his classes.

"That's exactly right, Holden" Queety nodded. "The Sorcer's Stone produces the elixer of life, which would make you live indefinitely. Of course, this doesn't protect you from a non-natural death like murder or something, but you just randomly die in your sleep due to old age. The stone was, I guess, discovered by Nicolas Flamel who was living for over 650 at the time that Harry found the stone.

"So as you guys who did your homework had said, Harry, Ron, and Hermione went down to get the sorcerer's stone. And when they arrived, they found that their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher actually held the spirit of none other than Voldemort inside him. Really a freaky thought, don't ya think?"

Queety paused to let the students take notes. She knew she was rushing a bit but she wanted to get everything done in time for their exam. When most of the students seemed set with their notes, she continued.

"Well, upon facing whom most thought was gone forever was something a little haunting for Harry. As we said in previous classes, most thought he had died or disappeared. No one, not even Harry had expected that Voldemort could be in the very castle where he thought he was safe. But anyways, this was the first battle between Voldemort and Harry.

"Obviously, as Harry is still alive, he managed to make it out of there alive. He also learned something about himself, a certain power in which he used to overcome Voldemort. Who would like to tell me what that power was and how Harry used it?"

[Holden J. Caulfield]

Score for the Caulfield. Professor White continued on with the lesson as Holden put his arms on the table and put his chin on top. He didn't bother to take notes today since he wasn't really in the mood and he felt like being a bit lazy at the momemt.

Holden shivered and put on his hoodie as he got cold. Soon he would be wearing a hoodie and his robes. Bleh. The Hufflepuff was tired of it being hot and he wanted some cold wind to even it out. But alas, the weather was not in his favor at the moment.

"Was it love? I read about where Voldemort was trying to touch Harry but he couldn't since the love from his mom or something kept Voldemort from touching him. Since Voldemort didn't know what love was it affected him greatly."

How did Harry use it? Was that like a trick question or something? How did he use it? Holden shrugged since he didn't know the answer to the question. He kept silent waiting for the answer.

Jackson was late, fantastic. And it was the last History of Magic class for the term. He couldn't believe it was almost over, it yet by sooo very, very fast. Hm. He ran down the corridor and stopped outside to catch his breath, then slipped inside as quietly as he could manage. Giving Queety 'I'm sorry I'm really late' look, he scanned the other student. Pouting a little, he saw that a Slytherin girl, Xiomara he thought her name was, had taken the other seat on the side of Avery. Bah.

Brushing his dark hair from his eyes, he slipped into an empty seat next to Holden, looking at Avery as he passed. He mirked and nodded at her, you know, how you do that whole 'How you doin'?' thing? Ha. But, okay, so now he had to figure out what was going on.

Queety nodded. "Indeed, Holden, it was the love from his mother that had orignally destroyed Voldemort that protected Harry the second time facing him. With that power, Harry was able to overcome Voldemort and keep him from ever retrieving the stone. How did Harry use it? Well, it was very simple. As Holden indirectly said, all Harry had to do was touch the guy.

"Well, the man whom Voldemort possessed died," Queety said in the simplest terms. "And Voldemort's soul was left to wander around, plotting his revenge on the boy who lived twice. Which leads us to..."

Queety paused dramatically. She smirked and rubbed her hands together evilly.

"Next term!" she announced. "That is all we have for this term. If you guys haven't already realized, this is a three term class. It's a little confusing. The fifth years next term will start with Harry Potter from his second year and then go to the present for two terms and then in their seventh year, start from the beginning. I really don't get it but I guess this was the easiest way.

"Anywho, we have the final coming up. Most of you don't really have to worry so much if you've attended a good chunk of the classes. But for those of you who are on the maybe passing side, I would definitely suggest using the final to your advantage. It could mean the difference between passing or staying in your year.

"So with a few minutes left of class, does anyone want to review anything we've learned over the term or ask any questions?"

[Selene Falicon]

Selene ran into the class, the latest she'd ever been. She entered the room out of breath and quickly took a seat, trying not to disrupt the class more than she already had. She shook her head as she set her books on her desk. She couldn't believe how late she'd been. She wanted to let Queety know how sorry she was, but she knew they weren't supposed to. I'll just tell her after class.

She'd overslept, and she knew she showed it. Her hair was still a mess, since she'd quickly ran the bruch through it, leaving spots still tangled. Her robes were sloppily put on. She didn't care though, as long as Queety didn't get mad at her. Or deduct house points for lateness, even though she probably deserved. She took out a piece of parchment, quill, and ink for notes, even though class was almost over.

"Selene, try not to be late again," Queety quickly said. It was no big deal though. Selene was usually on time to classes so the professor let it slide. "Well, if no one has any questions, I'll let you go. If you need to see me, come to my office or send me a quick owl. Otherwise, start studying now. The final isn't until the thirteenth but that doesn't mean you should cram the night before. It's no big deal so I wouldn't sweat it. Good luck and I hope to see you all next term one year higher. Class dismissed."
