Kailynn hated being alone, and that's all it seemed happened now-a-days. She didn't have friends to hang out with after classes, or on weekends. I guess that's what I get for being new... She knew she could try harder at making friends, but she didn't see the point if no one wanted to talk to her. She had only met a few people, and she wasn't sure if they were really friends, or acquaintances.
Kailynn made her way slowly up the spiraling stairs, the tick-tocking of the clock soothing her. She couldn't stand complete silence, and there hardly ever was such a thing. There was always someone saying something, wasn't there? As she stepped onto the landing, she thoguht to herself. Not about anything in particular, just a whole bunch of random thoughts until -BAM- the clock rang out eight times. She sighed and realized she'd probably better start heading back to her dorm soon, but even as she thought it she took a seat against the wall, enjoying the tick tocking of the clock.

Lizzy was bored out of her mind. No homework, No Brad to hang out with, and she didn't really feel like hanging out with her friends. So what did she do instead? What she did best. Wander. Everywhere. Though she found herself walking up the stairs to the Blue Memorial Clocktower. She liked it up there. It was peaceful and the tick, tocking of the clock was good company.
When she reached the top she saw someone sitting against the wall. Smiling she walked over to the girl, who appeared to be a first year, and sat down on the window sill not far from where she was sitting. "Hey." she said flipping her brunette side swept bangs out of her eyes. She still couldn't get over how well her hair looked brown. Usually it was a silver-blonde, but she dyed it and loved it.
Kailynn turned to the stairs as she heard footsteps. Hopefully it isn't a teacher... Although technically it isn't past curfew yet. The other person's feet seemed to be stepping in time with the tick tocking of the clock, but it could've been her imagination. Kail put a smile on her face for whoever was approaching. The person walked by her and sat down then said hello.
"Hello, I'm Kailynn. Or Kail. Whatever you wanna call me." Kailynn sighed as she started to hear rain hit the roof. She was about sick of rain. She was never a big fan of it, and it seemed to be doing that a lot lately. "Sounds like rain." She rolled her eyes, hoping it would stop soon enough. At least it isn't rainging too hard yet she reminded herself.

Lizzy smiled, "Nice to meet you Kail. Mind if I call you Lynn?" she asked hoping she could. She liked different, and Kail hadn't mentioned that she could call her Lynn so it was unique there. "I'm Jade Silvernacle, but you can call me Lizzy or Jade. Whatever you prefer." she said shrugging.
As the rain started to fall Kail looked grim, and said looks like rain. Leaning her head back on the edge of the sill she smiled, "I've always found listening to rain calming and peaceful. I also enjoy walking and going for runs in the rain, but that's just me, and I'm pretty wierd." she said smiling and listening to the rain.
Kailynn's grin came back as she was asked if she could be called Lynn. Her mom called her that. "Of course you can call me Lynn." She hoped that this meant she was making her first friend. She needed one. She hated being alone, and it seemed as if that was all she did recently. "Oky, well, I think I'll call you Jade, if you don't mind." She thought Jade was a different, yet pretty, name.
Kailnn held back another sigh. She just hated rain for some unknown reason. "I bet you aren't weird. At least, no more weird than I am." Kail smiled a small smile after this. I bet she isn't blind. That's pretty weird... She listened to the pitter patter of rain for a moment, not knowing what else to say. She was never very good at continuing conversations.

[[no problem]]
Lizzy smiled happy that she could call her Lynn. She was wierd like that. Always wanting to find a nickname for someone. Well everyone except Brad, but that was a different story. "Fine by me. I answer to both." she said smiling.
Lizzy laughed at that. "Well then you don't know me that well." she said laughing now. "I'll do he oddest things, but I'm sure I'm not the only one." she added shrugging.
Kailynn smiled at the same time as Jade. Her bad mood about the rain was slowly lifting, just becauase she finally had someone to talk to. She'd been bored out of her mind ever since she'd gotten to the school. There was only so much studying one person could take before they would explode (not literally). "So... How long have you been here?" She wasn't the best at coming up with discuccion topics.
Kailynn laughed when Jade talked about not knowing her very well. "Since we just met, though, I really don't know you that well. Trust me, though, you're definately not alone. I do some pretty strange things too, sometimes. Like my favorite saying is 'When life gives you lemons, squirt them in someone's eye.' I don't think that's really considered normal..." The Hufflepuff laughed, thinking about when she'd first heard the saying. From then on, it had stuck with her like glue.

[[hey no problem. i know how it is.]]
Lizzy thought a moment, "Umm... about seven months." she said shrugging. She really couldn't believe she had been there that little of time. From the drastic changes she had been through it seemed like years. Shaking her head she made herself focus back on what she was thinking about at the moment.
Lizzy laughed, "I definatley love that saying." she said laughing still. "Nothing's wrong with strange. I see it as if you're not strange you're boring." she said simply while shrugging. It was an awesome saying that ould totally be something she wouldn't soon forget.
[I'm going to stop apologizing every post, but just know that I truly am sorry about this. Too many things to juggle.]
Kailynn's eyes grew a wide as Jade told her how long she;d been there. That was seven times longer than herself. The thought of how old the other girl must be suddenly struck her, and she started to feel a little nervous. She was always nervous in front of older people, feeling like she had to be perfect (or at least not a complete freak). "I've only been here around a month! Do you like it here?" she asked curiously. kailynn was still trying to find her way around.
Kailynn's laugh attack had subsided, but a smile remained, showing she was still having fun. "That's a good philosophy." She heard the rain start to lighten up a little, which seemed to help fit the mood better. It was only supposed to rain when someone was upset, but neither of them were. At least, Jade hadn't sounded like it. She would feel horrible if one of her friends was upset and she didn't notice, but since Jade had just been laughing, she doubted Jade was upset.

Lizzy shrugged as Lynn looked surprised at how long she'd been there. "Don't look so surprised. Just because I've been here since Februrary doesn't mean I'm like a million years old." she joked. "As a matter of fact I turned 16 just this last April. So I can't be much older than you if not younger." she added shrugging.
Did she like it here. Well that was kind of an understatement. She loved it here, and not just because it had changed her life, but as well as taught her so many things. Like sometimes it was good to read a lot and know pretty much everything. If she didn't they would never get anywhere in classes because no one else offered to answer most of the time. "Ya it's amazing in so many ways." she said looking out over the grounds again. It was true she now had friends, she had stopped self mutilation, had someone she completely adored not only because he was the sweetest guy on Earth, but because he had saved her from herself quite a few times. "What about you? How do you like it so far?" she asked pulling herself from her thoughts.
Lizzy nodded in a very philisophical way just because. "Of course my dear Lynn. Every philosophy is good iin it's own precious way." she said finally breaking into a fit of giggles.
[It's fine. I totally spaced this thread anyways... ]
Kailynn's eyes went back to normal size when Jade told her she was sixteen. That's only one year older than myself. That's not too bad... "I'm fifteen, so don't worry, you're still older." She supressed a giggle, not knowing why she was laughing. She was just suddenly in a giggly (or slap-happy) mood. She felt a cool breeze and shivered, even though she wasn't cold. She liked the breeze. It felt nice with the warm night.
Kailynn thought about her time here so far. She'd only managed to talk to a feww people, still nervous around the new place. She wasn't sure how well she liked it there, but it definately wasn't horrbible. She thought about all the thins Jade must have done, such as gone through the Forbidden Forest a few times and been to Hogsmeade. She would have to do these eventually. "It's pretty good. I haven't made too many friends yet, but I guess it should happen over time, right?" She shrugged. Kailynn giggled as Jade did. "That's true," she replied about the philosophy.
