Between the lines of fear and blame; [open]

Adriana had heard of the Room of Requirement a couple of times from passing students, but never had need of it. Today, though, the Ravenclaw second year set out to find something to help her relax. Not an easy feat, given her natural inclination to be so very organised.

The girl had been pacing outside for a good ten minutes before anything happened, and a smile curved Adriana's lips as the blank stretch of wall transformed into a dark, oak door with a burnished gold handle. The Ravenclaw stepped eagerly inside, her slim form disappearing quickly through the doorway.

Once inside, Adriana gave a slight cry of shock, as the Room had transformed exactly to her request. She dropped the bag she carried by her side onto the wooden floor as she hurried forward, coming to a stop before the large mirrors. Running her hands over the same burnished gold bar, Adriana giggled to herself, stupidly happy now that she had found a real place to practise.

Because practise was what she intended to do. Adriana had asked the room for a place to practise her ballet classes, not having done it for a long time, and so it had. The expanse of wall that was taken up by gilded mirrors, the wooden floors, the bar...It looked just like her studio at home.

Now eager to get back into it, Adriana stripped off her black school robe, revealing a black leotard and leggings. The girl donned her well worn ballet slippers, tying them up the way she'd been taught when she was five, before beginning to stretch out her limbs, warming up.

Before she began, Adriana used a strip of leather to tie her dark hair away from her face; turning to face the mirror, Adriana gently placed her hands on the bar, carefully lowering her body as her knees dropped, stretching out her legs. It seemed like years since she'd trained, and Adriana's slim legs were out of shape.

It was a free period. Very nice, very nice. She was now bored. So she walked. And walked. She was thinking. What was she thinking about? How much she wanted something from the past. From the miserable life she led, now she wanted it more than anything. Just something. Something to link her to the life she once led. What did she miss most about her past life? Music. Something her mother couldn't understand. It was the only thing she enjoyed from muggles. Their arts.

Music. Dance. Paintings. They far surpassed the wizards in these areas. For instance, the tapestry she was looking at right now. Something about teaching trolls to dance. How was that art? And their music. IT was all about Hippogriffs and stuff. It was awful. She wanted that aspect of her life back. Two terms and she was already missing it.

She walked past the odd tapestry, not even wanting to look at it. She didn't really want her old life back, just parts of it. The parts that were good. The times where she locked herself in her room, listening to music. Playing her guitar. Watching the dancers on the television. That was what she wanted back. She knew that she could get it back, just go to the muggle electronics room, but there would be so many people there. It wouldn't be right.

She turned in a different direction. She walked for a little while when she looked up. There was a tapestry in front of her. It was very familiar... Hm... She thought she had just seen it. She shrugged her shoulders and moved on. She turned again and found herself walking back towards the tapestry. That was it, she had been pacing. Duh! Why hadn't she noticed the fact that she was pacing? She felt stupid now.

Just past the tapestry she noticed a door, one that she hadn't noticed before. She opened it, curious. Inside was a ballet studio... Ballet? Why was there a ballet area in Hogwarts? Then she remembered hearing about a place, that gave you whatever you wanted. Could this be it? Well, did she really want ballet? She had wanted something from her old life, and she had taken ballet one year. Perhaps she hadn't been specific enough.

That was when she saw the girl.

"Oh, hello," she said, quietly.

A deep frown of concentration was clearly defined on the girl's fair features, as Adriana began to dance, copying movements from the Black Swan Pas de deux, from Swan Lake that she had performed not too long ago. It wasn't easy, but the challenge cheered the girl in a perverse way. Having to concentrate on something so detached from her premature romantic issues helped Adriana to no end.

The pas de deux motions abrupted as she morphed into balanced plies, which led to Adriana moving into Fouetté en tournant. Engrossed in her dancing, the Ravenclaw didn't notice as the door opened, and it wasn't until a voice broke through her concentration that she stumbled with a cry of surprise, her eyes widening slightly at the sight of a girl she vaugely recognised.

Her breathing laboured, Adriana self-conciously pushed her sweaty hair back off her forehead, cursing the fact that the door hadn't locked or something. For all her confidence, Adriana had always felt most vulnerable while she was practising. After almost an hour, Adriana was covered in sweat, the intensity of her work-out relaxing her body and her mind, causing the third-year to push everything confusing out of her conciousness.

"Hi. Um, sorry, did you want to practise too?" she asked, a little awkwardly, too concious of her sweaty face. The expression of great concentration, needed in this particular art form, cleared as she leant on the barre, her lips twitching into a smile. "I'm Adriana, I think we have classes together."
