Aaryn's skinny hand fingered her green iPod. She placed the skull candy earbuds in her ears. She sat down in a comfy chair. She stared at the iPod, wondering what she should listen to. She clicked on shuffle and Dance Inside by The All-American Rejects began playing. She smiled and sat back in her chair. She needed to come to this place more often. She breathed in heavily and slowly.
There were only a few people in this place, as it was still a little to early for anyone to be doing anything but breakfast. Aaryn placed her iPod on her small stomach and closed her eyes. She wanted to process what had been going on recently. She had met Pierce, and they had gotten coffee. Was that a date? Or just two friends having coffee. She wasn't sure. If it was a date, she had enjoyed it, and was willing to go on another one. A voice in the back of her head said, but what about Dezi?
She ignored it. She felt the door open and close. Footsteps could be heard nearing her. Would the person talk to her? Hopefully not. She grunted in annoyance. The person moved away. Good, this was better. Aaryn sighed a little. She wanted to drift back to the thought land shew as in before. But nooooo, this stupid person had to come and interrupt her. She sighed heavily. Stupid, stupid, stupid person. Probably a first year. A stupid first year. She hated first years. They were so stupid and moronic. Yes, she was using stupid a lot, but it was so fitting. Because they were stupid.
The song on her iPod changed to Lowell MA by Death Cab for Cutie. She sang the song under her breath.
A brown eye opened slowly, letting the sun soak over her. Aaryn rose from her comfy chair, and found her way to a nearby computer. She sat down and opened it up. She turned it on. It took forever to boot up. Or just to long for Aaryn's own taste. She tapped her foot impatiently. She stared it finally opened, and she clicked on the "student" account. She opened up the internet. She wasn't sure what she was going to do. Perhaps she should make a Myspace. That would be very funny. But she decided against it.
She stared at the computer for a moment. What was she supposed to do on this thing? She realized she had lost all interest in the computer. Then she spotted a little application called, Compose It!. A music composing program. She smiled and opened it up. She went through all the necessary steps and began working on her song. She could hear the beginnings of a tune in her head. It was amazing what happened when you really got into things like this. The song on her iPod changed to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles.
