Fourth and Fifth Years, Class One.

Walking into class, Carina sighed lightly and set her bag down on her desk. The term break had been wonderful, but entirely too short. Still feeling a bit casual, Carina wore her robes loose allowing a simple pair of jeans and a green t-shirt to be seen. The green streaks in her hair had been unconcealed. She had always felt more like one of the students than she had a professor, being only eighteen, so she had felt like there was no sense in hiding things like that.

Running a hand through the streaked hair, Carina pulled her wand from her robes and tapped it against the board. They would be doing a nice simple potion for the first class. No sense in trying to overload the poor kids brains right off. The fifth years would remember the potion, most likely, but it was new for the fourth years.

Sitting down at her desk, Carina propped her feet up on the desk, feeling much more relaxed than her first teaching term and waited for the students to arrive.

Yay potions. The class that next to History of Magic she really excelled in. It was really exciting to finally be starting potions classes. Smiling to herself a bit as she walked through the corridors she was in a bit of a better mood. Potions was the class and the only thing right now that was getting Brad and his whole new self off her mind for the time being.

Walking into the classroom she found herself first to arrive. Smiling she gave Carina a wave, "Hello." she said before taking a seat in the back corner where she got out parchment, ink, and a quill to write down the potion.

Happy with how it looked Lizzy sat back and waited eagerly for the class to start.

Tired as she was for having any sleep from the previous night, the Slytherin walked in the Potions classroom/ Hopefully she wouldn't look as tired as she felt. She had no idea why she couldn't' sleep. That always happen to her. All she could do last night was lay awake, thinking about things yet feeling that she's not even really there.

No one besides Jade and the Professor were there. Guess she was early to class no matter how much she felt that she would probably be late due to the lack of sleep she had.

The Slytherin gave a weak smile to her friend and waved before sitting at the back. For a second, she laid her head at the table. It felt cold to her but she does not care. Before class begins, she knew that she would have to keep her head up, for now, hopefully that would be alright.

Elesy skipped down the halls to her most favorite class. Elesy had been up most of the night, studying, which, meant she was tired. Elesy tried not to act tired, and, she tried, to act somewhat cheery, but, truth be told, she wasn't exactly cheery, other then this class being her favorite, and, all of that. Elesy couldn't wait to learn more things this term, and, this was going to be a nice day, she hoped, even being in a bad-ish mood, she still always hoped for good days, or at least somewhat nice days. But, who knew, it could go either way, because, things always went one way or another, bad or good, and, it was just going to be one of those days.


Elesy entered the classroom, and, took a seat near the Jade. "Hey, Jade, Kali." Elesy said, and, then she looked over at the Professor. "Hello, Professor." Elesy then said, with a weak smirk, as she rested her head on her books, for a moment, then lifted her head, and, looked around. Her dark blue eyes gleamed, as she scanned every corner of the room. She then looked at the board. She remembered the Potion.

Elesy wrote down the potion in her notepad, and, then she layed her head on it again waiting for class to begin.[/font]

Eric walked the corridors headed to potions class he did not know why he even bothered going to that class it is not like he would ever be able to do it properly. In all his life he had done one potion perfectly right and that was a mistake but he supposed he would give Professor Erikson one more chance to try to pound the information in his head.

Eric walked in the door and did not even bother looking up at the board at first. He sat his bag down and took out his parchment, potions text, and quill out. After that he looked at the board.

Eric sat back and tryed to remember why this sounded so familair. Then it hit him he had done this potion just last term. Well dangit he was not going to do it again. Eric took his parchment, text and quill and put them back in his bag. He then stood up went to the front of class and said "Professor Erikson I did this potion last term and I am not doing it again this term. So unless you have somethning else I can do I am leaving!" Affter saying that Eric truned toward the back of class to leave.

She greeted the students as they entered the class. It was nice to see the same faces as last term, it gave her a sense of really knowing the students. Carina watched, a pierced eyebrow raised, as Eric walked into class. It was the first class of term, he was up to something. Of course, Eric was always up to something, but he generally pulled something on her the first class.

Carina began to relax a little as he sat down and pulled his supplies from his bag. It was when he looked at the board there was a problem. Her eyebrow hitched a bit higher when he replaced his things and announced that he wasn't going to stay. Sliding her wand from her sleeve, Carina spoke. "Mr. Mitchell, regardless of if you've done the potion before there are students in this class that have not. Besides that fact, the last time I taught this potion the class was interupted due to the..accident of three of the students. And if I remember correctly, your potion wasn't correct either. Now, sit down."

Eric stopped when Professor Erikson began to speak. He listened she wanted him to sit down okay that is exactly what he would do. He turned to her and said “Of course Professor Erikson whatever you say.” Eric gave her an arrogant smile.

Eric saw that there was a table in the back free so he headed to it. Once he got there he put his bag down on the floor. She wanted him to sit down so that was exactly what he was going to do he turned sat in the chair and propped his feet up. “Is this what you wanted Professor?”

Carina sighed and rubbed her head. She knew this would be coming, the slight power struggle happened between them on occasion. It happened between siblings. Leaning against her desk, she remained silent as she watched Eric turn and address her, then make his way to the back of the class. Might as well, nip this in the bud now. Carina always had a back up plan and she was a former Slytherin, so she wasn't above hitting below the belt.

Replacing her wand in her pocket, Carina pushed off the desk and walked back to the desk Eric sat at. She slapped her hands on the table and leaned down. While what she was about to say was going to be a slightly low blow, Carina didn't bother lowering her voice. If he was going to try himself in front of everyone, she was going to put him in his place in front of everyone. "Listen up, little brother. You have a choice here, unlike the other students. You can stay and try your best to do the potion or I can write Dad and tell him what happened here today. Even better, I can write Victory." Even if the threat of Dad didn't work, the threat of their older sister should do the trick.

Astrid really didn't like Potions, but she knew that it was a mandatory class for her to graduate. She walked in, knowing that she was a bit late, and took a seat. She retrieved the items that she would need from her bag and set up her cauldron. She then read the words on the board and began following directions.

Dangit. It seemed the Ravenclaw was late to Potions. Well, at least the professor was up talking, but none of the students were making a potion. Hmm. Maybe she wasn't as late as she thought. Class, the potion-making, hadn't really begun yet, so maybe she was still safe. That would be excellent.

A quick look at the board told her that they were making the Draught of Peace. Handy. She might need it sometime if her abnormal sleep patterns continued. Maybe it would help her to be less stressed at night. If she had time to brew it anywhere other than class. Hmm.

She took a seat in the back row and watched the slight drama unfold between the professor and her fellow prefect. How interesting.

Eric figured if she wanted to be his ‘sister’ about this then he would play his part. “Look Carina that was a low blow and it will not work. I am not very scared of Tory I mean she is pregnant after all. As for Dad he is too wrapped up in you and Tory to worry about me.” Eric said all this with false bravado. Although he was not worried about his dad or sister he was worried about disappointing his step mom Mary. She was the one who celebrated him making prefect with him. He thought he could handle anything but her disappointment.

“Do not get me wrong I will do your potion but it is not because of your low blow ‘sis’ it is because I do not want to serve a detention with you I would rather spend my time figuring out how to make your life hell.” Eric smirked at her “After all it is my job as your little brother right sis?”

Carina couldn't help the smirk that crossed her face as Eric's last question. Shaking her head, she rolled her eyes. "Sure, Eric, whatever." Reaching a hand out, she ruffled his hair. It was over for now, as these little displays never lasted long. Turning on her heel, Carina returned to the front of the classroom. A couple other students had entered while she had been distracted by Eric. She sighed to see that they were all fifth years.

After all, the reason she was doing this potion again was mainly for the forth years, who had yet to try it. Well, she supposed it wouldn't hurt for the fifth years to do it again. Since the 'incident' last time she had tried to teach it. Leaning against her desk, she looked at the students. "Well, since you are all fifth years, you've done this potion last year, it shouldn't be a problem to do it again. I would like to remind everyone that the directions are in the order they are in for a reason. Go ahead and get started." With that, she tapped her wand to the board.

Bring 1 cup of hellebore to a boil.
Add shredded wormwood and a spring of belladonna.
Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
Stir clockwise 6 times.
Stir counter clockwise 2 times.
Carefully add 1 minced dragon liver.
The potion should be a light blue at this point.
Stir 3 times counter clockwise 3 times.
Mix the powdered moonstone and powdered root of asphodel.
Add to cauldron.
Allow to sit for 3 minutes.
Bottle and bring to my desk.

Aaryn rushed into class, late. How awful. She took a seat, wondering what they were doing. She looked up at the board. Draught of Peace. How interesting. Not really. She jotted down the ingredients and looked up at the teacher, praying for instructions on the board, Aaryn would do no good trying to figure out how to make it this way. She was bad enough at potions as it was, this would not help in the least bit. She sighed, a little louder than she had wanted. Oh, well, at least the teacher would see her. Whether something good would come from it or not, was unknown to her, hopefully, something good.

Minutes after her sigh, the directions appeared. She began with the cup of hellbore. As it began to bubble slightly, she added shredded wormwood and sprig of belladona. She reduced the heat and checked the clock. After three and a half minutes [she was impatient] she continued to the next step. She slowly stirred it clockwise six times.

Hmm... Draught of Peace. Probably something that would do Lizzy some good. Smirking to herself she set to work writing down the instructions.

Finishing with the directions she set to work. Putting the Helebore on she started gathering other ingredients and preparing them to be put in when the time came. After a few minutes the Helebore started boiling and Lizzy addedthe wormwood she had recently shredded as well as the spring of belladonna. Reducing the heat on it she set a timer for five minutes and went back to work preparing ingredients for the potion.

Late. Violet is late for her first potions class for the term. That kinda sucked fo rher because she didn't want to start the term being late. She didn't want to give the Professor a bad impression of her but Violet guessed that there is nothing else she could have done.

She just took a seat and looked at the board before copying what she the ingredients for the potion they would be making today and she copied down the instructions to as what they would need to do to make the potion.

beep. beep. beep. beep.

Looking up from the book she had taken to reading because she had prepared all the ingredients Lizzy sighed and stood up. Looking down at her directions she picked up her wooden stirring spoon and stirred it six times clockwise and two counterclockwise. From her cutting board she dropped the minced dragon liver in scrunching her nose up at the smell as well as the look of it.

Looking back down at her directions Lizzy read that it should be light blue in color at this point. Looking back over at her potion she smiled seeing that it was a beautiful light blue. Taking up her spoon again she stirred it three times counter clockwise. After doing so she took her powdered moonstone and powdered root of asphodel and added it to the potion. Setting her timer again she sat down and waited for three minutes.

Aaryn then began to stir counter-clockwise twice. She stared at the dragon liver in front of her and wrinkled her nose. How cruel. She decided not to add the dragon liver, she pushed it aside and looked up at the board again. It said the potion should be light blue, it was more of a dark[ish] blue. She shrugged her shoulders, it didn't really matter that much, what was she going to do with Potions in her life? She could always buy them.

She began stirring again. She hadn't really counted, she just kinda guessed. She then added the powdered things, not bothering to mix them, they'd be mixed in the potion, right? Aaryn looked up at the board. It had to sit for three minutes. She leaned back in her chair, tapping her foot impatiently. As soon as the three minutes were up she took a bottle of the muddy brown liquid, and labeled it with her name, and then set it on the Professor's table.

"There you go," she muttered.
