Class 2: Fifth through Seventh Years

Her last class was absolutely amazing! Queety looked forward to more. Sure, Xiomara was not going to be in this class today [she had asked Queety for an excused absence for this class. The reason for which is known of your business], Queety hoped that her students would still feel the desire to discuss and debate certain topics. The only downer to this class was that the special guest that she had hoped to bring into the class today was unable to make it. But she planned to keep asking him until he could somehow fit it into his schedule.

She came in the classroom that afternoon with a stack of papers. She placed them on her desk and wrote on the board READING QUIZ. DID YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK??. Hopefully if her students did their work, they would pass this quiz and gain some house points. Then she walked over to the window and glanced out at the fields as she waited for the first group of students to arrive.

[Selene Falicon]

Selene slowly entered the HoM room with a yawn. She was still waking up, even though it wasn't her first class of the day. She might as well've slept through her last period, she'd been so tired. Glancing up at the board, she found it was filled with writing. Not good... she thought to herself. After reading the first line, her suspision was confirmed, a quiz. With a sigh she walked over to her usual seat in the middle of the room and pulle dout a piece of parchment and a quill.

Selene quickly answered the questions, thinking she did decently on it. She didn't think it was her best work, but then again, she was half asleep. The Ravenclaw hadn't been able to recall the name of the man Sirius had murdered... She looked up to Queety and smiled at the professor. "Hello. How've you been?" she asked before she yawned again. They were the only ones in the room, which had its ups and downs.

Eric finished his breakfast and picked up his bag and looked around for Briony. He did not see her and he did not want to be late to History of Magic so he left the great hall and headed there. Eric hopd he had time to go get his book he had forgotten it. Eric looked at his watch and realized he had plenty of time.

Now Eric had everything he needed for class. He was really looking forward to this class he hoped they would have another talk like they did before. Professor White has been able to do what no other professor had been able to she got Eric interested in History. His sister would be glad to hear that.

Eric walked into class and decided to sit near the fron today. Once he took a seat he looked at the board and saw READING QUIZ. DID YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK?? and the stack of papres on the professor he got up and got one. He read them over they are easy of course he do his reading last night so that might be why they were easy to him.

Walking in to History class, Briony walked over to the seat she had last class and sat. Per usual, Eric was already sitting in the seat beside her. Not that it surprised her, Eric normally made it to class before she did. Glancing over, she gave Eric a smile before turning her attention to the board. She couldn't help but to sigh as looked to the board.

A quiz, lovely. Well, it could be worse, she supposed. She knew the answers as she had read all the books many times before ever coming to the school. Pulling out a piece of parchment and a quill, Briony began copying the questions from the board and answering them.

She entered the classroom and sat down at the back. There was nothing to do once again. How surprising. Of course, she would wait for class to begin and that would only take a while.

On the board, in a large font, something was written: QUIZ. DID YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK?? Of course. Since the beginning of the term, their class had been talking about Harry's school year and such. She'd heard about people talk about it before. Who wouldn't have? Of course her parents doesn't even like mentioning about it. How could they when they basically hate him?

Michelle walked into the History of Magic classroom, and took a seat at the left end of the middle row. She looked around the room, and was relieved that she had arrived fairly early. In truth she wasn't sure how early she would arrive because she had accidentally taken a wrong turn earlier on her way. Well, everyone makes mistakes right.

Looking down at her desk, she gave a soft sigh at the thought of taking a quiz. If there was anything Michelle hated, it had to be quizzes and tests. Either way, she knew she'd have to take it to do fairly well in the class, as well as prove she did her homework. Grabbing out one of her pens she began to answer the questions.

Violet walked inside the classroom. Last lesson, they had talked about the second year of Harry Potter and for homework, they were assigned do read some page number.

Violet took a seat closeby to her cousin as she took out her things to write down what the Professor had written down.

"All right guys," Queety said when it seemed like most of the students were done with their quizzes. "Let's get going. If any of you have questions on the quiz, come see me after class. But we've got to keep going. We're a little behind. Hopefully, if you did your homework, the reading in your textbooks, then you should be caught up with all the goings on of Harry. His first year was one of learning who he was and what he needed to do. The second was of more self-identity discovering. The third involved a new family member who was important in his life. So we'll continue onto Harry's fourth and fifth year at Hogwarts. These were probably the most exciting years, I believe."

She paused to let all the students finish the quiz and turn it in and then began with the lesson for the day. "Now, originally, we were going to have a special guest for this class, but he was unable to make it. Hopefully, I can get back in contact with him and set up a time for all of us to get together. Hopefully... Anyways, so Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts turned out to be quite exciting. First of all, the poor sheltered child realized that there are other wizarding schools out there besides Hogwarts. And two of the schools along with our school was going to have a special event called the TriWizard Tournament.

"This was supossed to bring three schools together for some fun competition. But it wasn't always fun. Do any of you guys know what the TriWizard tournament is or what happens in one?"

Once was done with the quiz, and she was sure that she didn't do that well on it, the Slytherin had put her things aside and stared at the board. The letters were still there and she waited for what they would do next. Of course after everyone is done with the quiz, the class would continued on.

"All right guys," Queety's call announce the end of the quiz. Sure she did bad on it but it was alright. There's always another chance. Somewhere out there. Or not. But whatever.

Queety then began talking about the fourth year of Harry Potter, well not the whole fourth year but a particular event that was held. It was the triwizard tournament. The Slytherin had heard of that before but wasn't sure whether Trios have ever held the tournament. Maybe, maybe not.

Slowly, the Slytherin's hand was raised and in a quiet voice she answered, although not too sure about her answer "The triwizard tournament is basically a tournament. I believe its between three schools and the Goblets of Fire chooses three students, one from each school, to compete. Of course the tournament is dangerous. I think in Harry's year there was this age limit, like you must be seventeen years old or something to be accepted? Well, each of the people that were chosen has to do a series of tasks."

Okay. That was weird, she thought to herself. Kali was surprised that she had said too much. Usually she wouldn't speak that much, even for an answer. And she wasn't even sure how correct she was. If she is wrong, then it was bad.

[Holden J. Caulfield]

Holden came to class ready but didn't want to come today. He wasn't in the mood to go to class and sit down. Specially learning about Harry Potter. Holden still didn't see what the great deal was about him. Just another wizard.

He picked up the quiz and sat down. Holden quickly finished the quiz and turned it in. Sooner than expected Professor White began starting the class. Ah, the TriWizard Tournament. Highly dangerous game. He had read about this before.

But this time Holden didn't want to make a lecture like he did the last time he was in this class. He didn't want to bore the class.

[Professor Brayden W. Channing]

Brayden walked in slightly late, but early enough to finish the quiz Queety had given. He did his reading of course, for he didn't want to fail yet again. Thinking about a future with 7th Year Demi, he wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible. Not that they would be together forever. Heck, they weren't even together now. Not technically, anyway. But it was a nice thought.

Brayden smiled. The TriWizard Tournament. He had read about it. A lot, actually. But a student beat him to the punch before he could answer. Brayden frowned, thinking of more information he could add.

[Avery Moretti]

The Italian entered the classroom, a bit late, she supposed, but at least she wasn't super late. Biting her lip, she spotted Holden and sat next to him, giving him a friendly smooch on the cheek and a smile. "Hullo, Holdiekins." Really, Avery missed her friend dearly. They hadn't really seen each other as of late. And she couldn't even remember the last time they'd done something outside of class.

Looking at the quiz placed magically on her desk, she quickly filled it out. It was pretty easy, or so she thought. She pointed her wand at it and levitated it to the front of the room, it falling on the stack of other quizzes on Queety's desk. Fiddling with her pen in hand, she listened to the discussion going on. The one girl, some younger year Slytherin, covered pretty much everything, so she really had nothing to add.

"Nice response, Kali," Queety nodded. "That is exactly what it was. Three students were chosen, one from each school, to compete for the TriWizard Cup. But the tasks weren't simple scavenger hunt things. No, these students could easily die in these events. In fact, one student did, but we'll get to that later."

After being quite foreboding, Queety continued. "And as Kali also said, there was an age limit. You had to be at least 17 to enter. Well, for some strange reason, Harry ended up being chosen for a 'fourth school.' Someone had rigged the choosing so Harry was entered into the tournament, at only the age of 14. And the rule was that once you were chosen, you had to compete in the tournament. So, Harry was quite stuck.

"Most thought that whoever rigged the competition wanted Harry to die. It was a quick, clean way to do so. So while Harry was busy trying to survive the tasks, he was also trying to figure out why someone would want to do this and how they were able to do it. Well, Harry also received a little help from his friends and professors. He was able to make his way through the first two events. Finally, came the last one, it was a maze. Similar to the courtyard maze outside but bigger, darker, and scarier. There were different creatures and boundries to get past.

"But that was where the TriWizard cup sat. Harry and fellow Hogwarts student Cedric Diggory both touched the cup at the same time. And I'm sure all of you know what happened next..." Queety held out her hand to her students, encouraging them to continue the story. She needed to keep them awake somehow.

[Avery Moretti]

Avery bit her lip, listening to the story. She knew it well, and it was quite sad. Once Queety left it off for someone to continue she spoke, "The cup was a portkey that transported both Harry and Cedric to the Little Hangleton Graveyard. I think that's where Harry's parents were buried, but I'm not sure. And Peter Pettigrew was there helping Voldemort. They used the blood of Harry in a Potion that was supposed to bring Voldemort back to a more stable human form, which worked and he was made stronger. Cedric was killed to get him out of the way. The Death Eaters were called and watched as Voldemort and Harry fought, and the ghosts of Harry's parents as well as Cedric came around him and helped him defeat Voldemort. Immediately, Harry grabbed Cedric and the portkey and was transported back to Hogwarts."

Deciding to stop there, she looked at Queety and the others in the room. They could add stuff, as there was a tiny bit of information left to talk about.

[Holden J. Caulfield]

Holden smiled when he saw Avery. It had been ages since they last talked or even hung out. It had to be somewhere in fourth term. A kiss on the cheek and he wrinkled his nose playfully. Holden gave her a little smooch back and went back to paying attention in class.

Professor White continued with the lecture about the TriWizard Tournament. He turned around to look at Avery as she was the one next to finish the story a bit. Holden smiled and did a little clap for her when she was done. "Good job, Avs,"

"At Hogwarts Harry and Cedric landed at the starting point of the third task. To great shock they found Cedric Diggory dead and that's when the minister at the time, Cornelius Fudge, began to believe Harry and Dumbledore about Voldemort coming back.

"After the removed Cedric's body from the school, Bary Crouch Jr., descised as Mad-Eye Moody took Harry up to his office to talk. Since Mad-Eye Moody had been placed to protect Harry no one thought a thing about them leaving.

"In Mad-Eyed's office Harry began to notice something. Mad-Eye was begining to change. Asking questions that only a Death Eater would ask. Then he began to physically change. After noticing Potter was noticing this he began looking for what we call a Polyjuice Potion. Polyjuice Potion is a potion that can transform you into another person for no more than an hour. It takes a month to create and has to be mad during a certain mood. It doesn't work trying to change into animals. But anyway...

"By the time Mad-Eye Moody, or I should call him Barty Crouch Jr. now, found out that he didn't have anymore Polyjuice Potion it was too late. He had turned back into Harry Crouch. During that time the teachers and Dumbledore were looking for Harry and found him. They captured Barty Crouch Jr. and sent him to Azkaban.

"The thing was though that Barty Crouch Jr. was expose to be dead. They have a grave for him and everything. Suppositly he died in Azkaban but the thing was he was never dead. His mother took his place in the grave instead. They have a place for her too but it's empty. But anyway...

"When Barty Crouch Jr. was taken away a chest in the room began to move. They opened it to find the real Mad-Eye Moody. Mad-Eye Moody had been taken hostage by Harry Crouch. Mad-Eye Moody was once a great Auror. Still is considered the best Auror in history. He was part of the Order of the Pheonix back in Harry's time and even in the beginning along with Harry's parents."[/color]

Holden took a deep breath and sighed. Lecturing again. Oh boy. He shook his head and put his head down on the desk. "I think I really need to stop reading and talking in this class. Don't you Avery. Everytime I come in here I have to open my mouth and lecture. I give up."[/font][/size][/color][/blockquote]

[Haley Gordon]

Haley slowly, quietly creaked open the door and stepped into History of Magic. Well, even if she did lose points for her house it was better late than never, right? Right. Sitting into a seat, she managed to hear the last of Holden's explanation and silently clapped him. The boy knows his stuff--when he wants to. Haley, however, stayed silent.

They were obviously going over Harry's fourth year involving the year Voldemort returned, the Triwizard Tournament was held for the first time in a long time, having been canceled before to too many student deaths, and beginning the period where Harry was looked down upon by the entire Wizarding community that was in denial. Her father had embellished a lot of it to her and she had pretended to be amused when she was, in reality, disgusted.

Sitting down, she noticed that there was a quiz that they had taken. Oh well, it wasn't a big deal. She would make it up some way somehow. After Holden went, to redeem herself someway somehow she began to add things that she had already mentioned. She didn't care if it was past the reading.

"I know that the Ministry's reaction to Harry's story was awful. It was in complete and total denial. They slandered Harry with newspapers, denouncing the heroic status he had once held before as a liar who simply wanted more attention that he had unwillingly gained already. It didn't help that a Daily Prophet reporter, Rita Skeeter, was trailing Harry Potter looking for stories and putting her own twist to them, making him appear like a helpless, attention needy kid. Most of the people went along with it for the simply fact that it was easier to believe that Harry Potter was lying than to take his words as the truth." Haley spoke, sitting straight while giving a small wave to Holden and Avery.

((OOC: He had turned back into Harry Crouch? Nice one, Court. XP))

Queety nodded at Avery with her answer. "Exactly, and then-" But then Holden's answer just completely blew her away. By the time he finished, Queety was left standing there, mouth agape. She did not expect him to come out with such a detailed and complete answer. "Well, Holden, you basically kicked me out of my job. You said everything that needed to be said. Good job. Hufflepuff will get house points for sure.."

She turned to the board and wrote down the summary of everything the students just said. She wrote what had happened while Harry and Cedric were away in a few bullet points and what had happened afterwards as far as the Barty/Moody scenario. When she had finished, she took a step back so the students could quickly write down the notes as well. Then she turned to listen to the last student make her comment.

"Perfect. We'll continue on then to Harry's fifth year when he was treated like dirt," Queety decided. "Are you guys all caught up on what we have so far?" After all the students had nodded, she continued. "Well, as Haley said, the Ministry acted like nothing every happened. They said that Voldemort had not returned and made Harry appear a fool because he was so passionate about believing it. The Ministry influenced everything that was going on in their every day life. They influenced the Prophet which made Harry seem like an idiot. They sent a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge. Ugh, don't even get me started on that woman..."

Queety would have loved to have her in class just so she could drive the woman up the wall and look innocent in doing it. From what she heard, Umbridge was absolutely a terrible teacher to have.

"But anyways, in a rebellion, Harry and his friends started a group called Dumbledore's Army. How many of you have heard that one? Would any of you, minus perhaps Professor Holden here, like to explain what it is?"

"Dumbledore's Army was a retaliation against the Ministry's influences. The Ministry had infiltrated Hogwarts with the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Dolores Umbridge. Umbridge was not just a teacher but the Ministry's eyes and ears into the whole thing. With her, they tried to find physical blame against Harry and to overthrow Dumbledore. The Minister of Magic Fudge was paranoid that Dumbledore wanted his position and was intent not to see it happen even though Dumbledore had already been offered the job and turned it down. With Dolores, they sacked the Divination teacher and made a bunch of stupid, needless decrees to try to control the students and, I believe, brainwash them into thinking that the return of Voldemort was simply a myth, a lie.

Anyway, the new DADA lessons were not as they had been before. They were not practice but theory, all the classwork was bookwork and the wands were not used. They did not learn spells or cast them at all. In this class, there was no learning actual defense.The students who believed Harry thought that they should be learning the spells they knew would be need instead of learning out of a theory book. So, in order to achieve that knowledge, they turned to their own devises to learn what they would need. Obviously, they asked Harry to teach them, because he knew a lot about the Defense of the Dark Arts and had already encountered the worst dark arts user in their current history. To get them ready for the battle or battles of the future, to protect themselves and their families, they formed what came to be known as Dumbledore's Army.

They chose Dumbledore for the name, I think, because he was Harry's main support and had never faltered. Later, however, this very name for the organization gave Ministry cause to put Dumbledore in prison though he fled. This was because Dumbledore took the fall for Harry, who was going to be expelled because, during it's creation, Dolores and the Ministry banned secret meetings, clubs, and organizations for suspicion of an army to--of all things--take down the Ministry so Dumbledore could be minister of it." Haley answered quickly. She knew there were gaps in what she said but she simply could not think of it.

Rushing through the hallways, was never really fun, especially when late, it's never fun being late, either. The Slytherin hurried through the hallways, and, nearly tripped, when she turned corners, because, she was running fast. Elesy couldn't believe was late, again, she had been for the last class, too. Elesy sighed, as she neared the classroom. Elesy got to the door, and, entered through, after a moment, of catching her breath. Elesy walked over to the nearest seat, and, sat in, it. Elesy was tired.

The Slytherin, took out her parchment, and, her quill, so she could take notes. Elesy looked over at the board, and, read it, then took down notes, as always. Elesy looked around, and, bit her lower lip, as she looked, because, she hated being late, but, sometimes things don't work out your way.[/font]

Selene jerked up suddenly, realizing she must've been daydreaming through out the class. Not good. She vaguely remembered hearing something about Dumbledore's Army, but what? A student had answered, she knew that much. How could I have let myself fall asleep? I;m so stupid! Selene continued mentally yelling at herself until she realized it wasn't going to help. Just start paying attention now. Selene then realized that Terra wasn't here yet, but shoved that to the back of her brain to think about later.
