In trouble yet again (Slughorn & Brie)

[Kaley Prellop]

Kaley stalked off to Professor Slughorns office slowly, taking as much time as possible to get there. She knew the note had said excuses wouldn't work, but she wasn't really putting it off by that much. Only a few minutes at most. Was it wrong for the Slythie not to want to go get yelled at and receive detention. Along with that, she would have to see Brie again. Kaley had been planning on that, only not with any teachers around. She never fully got to show the Ravenclaw her place.

As Kaley approached the Heads of Houses' Offices, she sighed, slowing down even more to read the name plates. After a few doors, she saw Professor Slughorn's. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door quietly. She could live with the detention and the House Points lost (she could care less actually), but they had told her last time that if she fought again, she would be suspended. That was the only thing that mattered to her. She didn't even bother to smile as the door opened.

[Brie Alley]

Kaley. Oh Kaley. She could still feel the pain she had caused. And then getting an owl for Professor Slughorn. Not so good. How could this be happening. She was usually a good student. Never got in trouble. But Kaley. She had done it. She had made her mad. Angry. And everything else in between. But this was harsh. She knew that a punishment was coming on.

As she entered Slughorn's office. She saw Kaley had arrived. Great. Right now, she was alone with Kaley. In the worst place to be. Brie sighed. And took a seat. Of course far away from Kaley.

[Horace Slughorn]

I made sure my office door would only open for the two people I had asked to enter it. Both students managed to find my office in good time as I continued to write on a piece of parchment - not even bothering to look up. The door slammed shut as the two of them took a seat and then I stopped writing and placed the quill in it's holder.

I stared at the two pupils with a cold, piercing glare. They have crossed the line. I thought to myself as the facts of the serious rule breaking of fighting played over in my mind. "Well, what do you have to say for yourselves?" I questioned them in an emotionless tone. It was clear I was like a bomb waiting to explode. "What was the reason for your fight? What was the cause? Do you both think it was acceptable school behavior?"

I long pause paid itself as I spoke in a high pitch, shouting at the two pupils before me. I waited for the explanation and then after another pause I stood up, face full of anger. "Well, I think I deserve an explanation!" I crossed my arms over my emerald green robes. Waiting to see who would explain first.

Kaley looked up as the Professor entered. he definately didn't look very pleased. She held back a giggle at the expression on her face. She knew she'd get in even more trouble for making fun of him. She had a small smile on her face, her attempt at looking like everything was just peachy, even though it wasn't. She was about to get yelled at, then detention for eternity. She just knew it.

When he first started, seh was surprised how clam he seemed, but by the end, he was acting like she'd predicted: screaming at them before he even got the story. She didn't answer right away during his pause, unsure if he wanted them to answer or if it was rhetorical for the moment. She knew they'd have to explain eventually, but she'd always imagined this part lasting far longer than it currently had. She silently asked herself why they had to be taken to Professor Slughorn and someone like Queety.

After he finished his last statement/yell, Kaley avoided lookign at Brie. She figured the stupid Ravenclaw would probably be crying because she'd never gotten into trouble before. Seeing Brie loke that would cause her to laugh, and then there would be more yelling. Overall, it wouldn't be worth the punishment. After a moment, she realized Brie wasn't going to speak first, so Kaley jumped at the opportunity to get her say in.

Kaley started to speak in a clear tone, trying to show sorriness in her voice, though she wasn't. "Well, it all started my first term. I got in an arguement with this girl, Miley Kane, and out of no where brie came in. She wasn't involved in the fight at all, but she had to just say some thing like 'I agree with Miley.' This was after a teacher was already sorting it out, by the way. So we didn't start off very well. I usually tried to ignore her, just so nothing like this would happen.

"Then today I dropped my books, and who should happe to pick them up but Brie! Well, I asked why she was suddenly being nice to me, and she started trashing my hair and calling me mean and rude. I got frustrated and lightly shoved her, just to get her to stop. She comes back and shoves me way harder than I shoved her. Then I shove her as hard as I could to get her to back off, and she pushed me against the wall. She made me hit my head so hard it started to bleed! You can even go ask the mediwitch! I slapped her so she would release me from the wall, and when that didn't work, pulled her hair down so she would be forced to let me go.

"That's when that stupid Prefect came and broke us up. And that's what happened." She took a deep breath after all of the explaining. She felt her story was accurate with maybe a little truth-slanting here or there, but not much. She had looked into the Professor's eyes the whole time to show she wasn't lying. Liars always looked away.

[Brie Alley]

Slughorn stared at both of them. And Kaley began to speak. Blah, Blah. Why did Slytherins hvae to be so mean. Couldn't they be nice. Well. Actually. They had a reason to be mean. But still. Why.

Brie couldn't believe it. This was her first big trouble mistake. And it was mistake. Why did she have say mean things to Kaley. All she really wanted to do is become friends with her. But honestly. That would never happen.

Brie waited until she was finished. Her story. Was right. Everything happened the way she put it. "I agree with her story. But Kaley has left out then reason why we started the fight." She sighed. Tell the truth. "I was commenting on her hair. And she honestly thought it would be funny to make rude comments about me. And she holds a grudge on me. Even when I claim, I had a mistake. She just doesn't forgive me."

Kaley was shocked to hear that Brie said Kaley's story was right. It took all her will power not to let her jaw drop from amazement. Kaley had thought Brie would twist the story so it would make Kaley look like the evil one. But then, of course, Brie had to change it sy saying that Kaley was the one who started with the rude comments about her. Kaley shook her head, her face turning red with frustration. She didn't say anything wrong to Brie.

"What are you talking about?! All I did was ask why you were suddenly being nice to me, and then you were just like, 'whatever, you have new hair and eyes. I see' in this snooty voice. So I thanked her for letting me know! And just so you know," she directed this to Professor Slughorn, "She never mentioned anything about 'making a mistake', as she put it." Kaley was getting frustrated all over again with Brie, and it was taking all her will power not to slap Brie with Professor Slughorn present.

[Horace Slughorn]

"Enough!" I snapped at the both of them. All a case of silly tales and immature girls, like I have not seen it before. I would have sighed only had it been the fact it would show weakness in my part. I kept a firm mouth after my little outburst and then looked at the two girls who had fell silent. "Each of you had a part to play in this and I do not care about silly tales. All I care about is that the two of you started fighting when there was no need!"

I crossed my my arms over my robes. "The two of you will shake hands this instance and put all of this silly mess behind you. You are two young ladies now - not first years having a bickering match. It is time to learn and grow up ladies and I think the best time would be to start now" I simply said, and did not leave any room for retort. I expected them to make up now or they would feel my wrath further. I was being rather under control of my anger than I usually expected of myself.

"You especially Kayley need to grow up and I expected better from a Slytherin. Count yourself very lucky indeed" I left the note to linger before adding. "You know what I told you the last time you came into this office and it is obvious that you did not take head to what I said. This is your last chance Kayley, and do keep in mind you are the older pupil and should be more responsible, as should you Brie" I only spoke my words, however in a rather snappy fashion - hopefully getting my point across.

Kaley shut her mouth as Slughorn called for silence. She glared at Kaley, but made sure not to interupt him. She'd get into even more trouble if she did. The urge grew stronger when he had said there was no need, but she knew arguing with him would do no good. There was no point in wasting her day in detention, if she already hadn't gotten it. When he told them to shake hands, Kaley covered up a snort with a cough. There was no way she was going to shake hands with Brie.

The more he spoke, though, the more he made it seem this was the worst of their punishment. If she had to choose between shaking hands with the enemy and a detention, Kaley would have to pick the shaking hands. She didn't care as he scolded her, but pretended to pay attention so she wouldn't get yelled at. Slowly, with a sigh and continuing to glare, she stuck out her hand. As soon as Brie gripped hers, she squeezed as hard as she could without making a face or showing what she was doing. She didn't want Brie to tattle on her.
