Josie entered the Quality Quarters in a fairly random mood. She was bored and she just didn't know what to do with herself. She was too fidgety today to read the book she had brought with her and to chatty to sit in silence. She wanted to bounce around she was so hyper it was incredibly annoying and frustrating.

She had tried doing a few laps around the Quidditch Pitch but that had only made her worse. So here she was in the fairly deserted Quality Quarters. Face flushed from the cold outside, hair slightly windswept and a gleam in her eye that spoke of a thousand possibilities.

She felt like screaming actually. You know how you just get so frustrated you scream and suddenly everything seems better? Yea well it does trust me okay?! She didn't think the few other students that were in the Quality Quarters would appreciate her outburst however so she did something a little calmer and turned a cartwheel instead. Just because she could.

As she stood she let herself flop to the ground and lay there on the floor contemplating what to do next.

[Ashley Tapping]

There she was... Ashley Tapping... Sitting there doing nothing... I know what you are thinking. Ashley Tapping doin nothing! This is a once in a life time chance to see this! She was sitting in a very comfortable arm chair in the Quality Quarters. She had no idea what to do. She didn't feel like reading a book. No that would cause her to focus. She didn't feel like taking a nap. Because she wasn't five anymore. What she really wanted to do was talk to someone or go outside. Ashley looked out the window. It had started to rain. Well that is a mager bummer! She looked around the room to see if anybody was alone. dang it! Nobody was.

Ash sighed and stook up. She started to walk to the exit looking straight ahead. This was hopless she would never find something to do! She lowered her head in dissapointment. Thankfully when she lowered her head she jumped out of the way. there was someone laying on the ground! "Wo i didn't see you there! Almost just stepped on you sorry about that. If you don't mind me asking..... Why are you on the floor?" Ash asked with a confused look on her face.

Josie hated it when you read about a character in a book who when they saw a car coming towards them or something they just froze. Josie always figured the sensible thing to do would be to get out of the way which is why she was quite surprised when she was almost stepped on by a fellow student and she just . . . lay there!

She contemplated moving out of the way but she didn't, she wasn't sure why as she knew if the student did step on her she'd get hurt and she might hurt her as well.

Luckily for Josie she was spotted just in time and disaster was avoided. She grinned up at the student and sat up. She shrugged at her question, "Seemed like a good idea at the time." She answered honestly. "But thank you for not standing on me." She said with a laugh.

"I'm not usually this . . . " Whats the word? Crazy? Insane? Clearly unhinged? "Weird." She settled for, yes that would do. "I'm just bored." She remembered the girl had been on her way out and threw her an apologetic look, "Sorry if I'm keeping you from something." She added she didn't want to make her late for anything even though it was nice having someone to talk to.

Ash laughed and said, "no problem I'm Ashley Tapping. Who are you?" she asked still standing above her. Ashley laughed again and said, "I do not think that you are weird. I just find it a bit odd that you are laying on the floor while people walk past you and look at you." she said sitting down on the floor next to her. "yeah me too...." Ashley shook her head. She wanted to stay and talk with this girl she seemed very nice to Ash. "no i have nothing to do and nowher to go to. How about you? Are you busy right now?" she asked hoping that she wasn't.

Josie smiled as Ashley introduced herself, "Nice to meet you," She said then added, "I'm Josie Felling," tucking her legs under her she grinned when Ash joined her on the floor. It could be a new craze, who needed a seat anyway?

She giggled at her comment about being odd, "Yes I suppose lying on the floor is a bit odd," She agreed, "But an excellent conversation starter." She threw her an amused look.

Josie brightened when she admitted she had nothing to do, YEY someone to talk to, "Nope, nothing for me either, it's strange being in such an amazing place and finding yourself with nothing to do." She told her conversationally.

"What house are you in?" She asked. It was the standard question she thought, she knew she wasn't Hufflepuff but that was all she knew. She thought they might as well start the getting to know you with the easy questions.

Ashley laughed seeing someone laying on the floor was an excellent conversation starter. Ash nodded. It was strang to her too. She thought that soming here she would always have somthing to do excepecially with classes starting for her this term.

She smiled and said, "I'm a second year in Gryffindor." she was glad she was in Gryffindor. That was the house that her father had been in when he went here. "And yourself?" she asked back to. She seemed like either a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff. Ash would have thought Mihael but she didn't know what qualities that house had. And she was defanitly not a Slytherin. If she was she was an extremly nice one at that.

Josie smiled when she mentioned she was a Gryffindor, if she hadn't been put in Hufflepuff that would be the house she would have wanted to be in. She wasn't sure why she just felt it was more her than the other houses.

"I'm a second year Hufflepuff." She told her with a grin, she really was thrilled to be a Hufflepuff, she felt at home there, weird but hey thats Josie for you.

"How are you liking school?" She asked, she knew there was more interesting things to talk about than the school they lived but it was something Josie was genuinely interested in. The mix of responses she got from this question was uncanny. Some people weren't really bothered either way to be here and others were thrilled. Then the odd few just wanted to go home and forget Hogwarts even existed. These people muddled Josie's mind, she couldn't understand why you wouldn't want to be here but there you go. She was interested to see what Ashley had to say about it all.

[Ashley Tapping]

Hufflepuff. Ashley liked Hufflepuffs alot. They were always so friendly to everyone. And one two of her bestfriends were in that house. Ash smiled at her question. "I think i am in love with everything!" hogwarts was so amazing and she just loved everything about it! Okay so i guess she didn't like everything like some of the people could be pretty mean but most were completly friendly like Josie. "Everything is so great here i am really enjoying myself. How about you?" she asked her returning the question? Ashley was the kind of girl taht could talk about anything for hours.

Sev was not one to spend a lot of time in QQ. He was not too social but he was always being edged on to go meet more people by his own friends. So, he made his way to QQ every once in a while in hopes of finding someone to have a conversation with. And on one of those days, he happened to be lucky enough to run into two familiar girls. He knew them from classes but never spoke with them too much. It would be nice to get to know them in an environment that did not involve studying.

He walked over to where they were sitting with a grin. He was chewing gum in his mouth and with his black sweatshirt, he did not look much like that quiet, little, Ravenclaw boy who was a bit of a nerd. But he was a lot more comfortable in that, even if the style of clothes never really fit with his personality. Whatever...

"Hey guys," he said with a grin. "What's up?"

[Ashley Tapping]

Ashley looked up when she heard a voice that was sorta familar. Seventru Gage. Ashley smiled and said, "Hi Sev. Not much we are just really sitting around talking. You?" Ashley had met Sev in a class one time and he had seemed very nice for the brief little time they talked. Ashley looked around and saw a few people leaving and a few people coming in.

Josie looked up as she heard a vaguely familiar voice. Why did she know that voice? Sev, thats why, they had classes together and had shared brief encounters, she smiled pleasantly up at him from her position on the floor.

"Hey," She said with a grin, she was quite surprised he had come over to talk them he always seemed what was the word . . . shy? Maybe . . . Quiet? Yes that will do. It was nice to see a different side to him and get the chance to talk without being interrupted by a pesky lesson.

"We're just talking," She said in agreement with Ashley's statement. "Sit down, join us," She invited with a smile, "It's comfier than it looks." She said gesturing to the floor they were still sitting on.

Sev grinned at the invitation and sat down with the girls. It was nice to be included in their conversation. From what Sev had seen of many girls, it seemed like girls were exclusive, only chatting in their own little gossip groups. But perhaps his suspicions were wrong. At least with these girls it was true.

He sat down on the floor next to them and took the hood off his head. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a pack of gum. After offering some to the girls, he put it back in his pocket and sighed. "So, how have things been lately?" he asked, hoping they did not mind turning their conversation around from whatever they were talking about to answering his question.

Josie smiled approvingly as he joined them on the floor, she spared a fleeting thought for what they must look like to other students all sat round the floor when most of the armchairs and bean bags were free. She grinned she was always up for being different.

How had things been? "Hectic." She replied with a grin, "It's all go at the minute." She added, "Classes, Homework, Quidditch and Christmas." She said feigning exasperation. She loved it really. She loved the hustle and bustle being in the castle created add to that the Christmas Rush, she was loving the speed at which they were all being forced to take.

She knew it would calm down after Christmas and then a whole new stress would be thrown in to the mix exam preparation would take over their lives so she was enjoying the semblance of chaotic peace while it lasted.

"How are things for you?" She asked in return genuinely interested.
