Leaning against the brick walls, Aaliyah closed her eyes and listened to the ticking of the clocktower. It was a simple beat and it calmed her, making her feel relaxed and in tune with everything around her. Liyah was known for being a little more on the bouncier side, especially around her friends. However, as she listened to the ticking of the clocktower, she suddenly felt a calm.
But still the real Aaliyah Rose would never stand still for too long.
She opened her eyes and glanced up at the brick wall. There were some bricks sticking out, begging her to climb them. She smirked and began to climb them. She allowed the constant ticking to give her the energy to pull up with each brick. Giggling, she glanced toward the ground. She was not too far up but it was still pretty high. Liyah slowly turned her body and sat on a row of bricks that were sticking out. Obviously they were for sitting on, Aaliyah assumed.
She glanced down at the ground and blinked. "Hello, stranger," she said to the guy who was on the ground. Well, she knew exactly who he was but, since they had not spoken in a while, it did feel like he was a stranger.
Blinking several times Nort slowly arched his back and upward to see who had spoken. The darken silence had been rather comforting to the young man, odd as it was Nort Flowers was quiet a fan of just sitting still and doing nothing every now and then. "Oh hey Liyah, what’s up?" he asked politely back and moved over a little so she could sit next to him.
Nort had been thinking, about nothing in particular, just the past, present and scary looming future. He'd taken himself away from the magical castle up the magical town and sat looking up at not so magical clouds deep in thought. "Haven’t seen you in a while ay?!"

Aaliyah shrugged. "I was away for most of the break," she explained. "Sabra and I went to Ireland to see my family. It was fun." It was obvious that Aaliyah had just gotten back from Ireland because her Irish accent was at it's thickest. While she had been in the castle, she had lost a bit of the accent but because she was around her family for a little, she picked it back up.
She swung her legs back and forth as she glanced around. She looked back at Nort and smiled. "Where have you been, Nortimer?" she asked, smirking. "I know I haven't seen you in a couple weeks."

“Yeah,” he sighed looking out at the silent grounds before them, “It’s been a while.” This was odd, perhaps a rare time if any really. Mellow, that was how he felt and there wasn’t any real reason for why he felt this way. It just was and these were the moment s when Nort took himself away from the rest of the world, sitting silently, doing nothing in particular and waited for the feeling to leave.
"oh...i havn't been anywhere," which was true. He'd stayed here for the holidays and spent most of it with Gryphon, well most of it up till the time he was overcome with such mellow feelings. "PLayed in the Pumkin patch...meh not a lot really. Ireland? Cool, that must have been fun. Bet your missing it hey?” he smiled realising at that point how much indeed he missed home.

Aaliyah frowned. "That's weird. You were really here the whole time? I'm surprised I didn't see you around the common room or anything when I returned." She shrugged and looked back down at her feet. A small breeze blew through her hair making it blow into Nort's face. She laughed, apologizing, and pulled it back in a ponytail. She shook her head and readjusted herself on the brick walls.
"Yeah, it was fun to go back home," she said. "But this place has become me home so much more." She titled her head to the side and glanced at him. She really enjoyed just sitting near him. It just made her smile. "So, how have you been?"

Her hair seemed to finds its way to his face, twisting his way into his mouth. He couldn't help but chuckle slightly as he gently pushed it away and sarcastically rolled his eyes at Aaliyah, it was funny.
Sighing Nort followed her example and repositioned himself upon the wall, "yeah...i know what you mean." His eyes finding a cloud that shaped its way into the old farm house. It was with that did Nort feel the pull on his chest as he began to dearly miss his family. Folding his legs upward his chest he hugged them, "yeah... I’m ok just.." he wondered how to phrase 'mellow'. "Oh nothing... just missing home i think" and tilted his head to look at Aaliyah, thus resting his head on his lap now. "How about you? What brings you up here?"

"Yeah, that can be tough," Aaliyah said. "Maybe you could head back next break or something. It's not that far from now really." She hoped that sounded reassuring, though she was not sure. Aaliyah was a great listener when someone had a problem but she was not the best in solving the problems. She tried, but it never seemed to actually work.
"What brings me here?" she glanced up at the clouds, wondering if she could answer it. "I think it's mearly boredom," she admitted. "Nothing better to do, so I thought, why not hang out around her." She was glad, though to have run into Nort here because she had not seen him in a while and she had missed him.
