On A Mission -James-

'Finally!' Allison thought to herself as she stumbled upon the kitchens. Now that had been a hard task. Who knew it would be so challenging to find a kitchen? I mean, it's not like it's small so it should not have been that difficult and yet this third year had been talented enough to lose her way. How special she felt at the moment. But she was now there at there destination. Now able to complete her mission; to locate some hot chocolate.

This was a very important mission indeed. The Mihael was freezing! Well, not freezing but very chilly. The idea to have some of this delicious drink came to her while she was sitting in her dorm. It was late but she was still up, studying. So much fun. This was also a rare task. The girl could not really remember the last time she had sat down just to concentrate on a class. She must be in need of chocolate. Anyway, she had not gotten to eat dinner due to her busyness and was now hungry. Well, she was also a bit chilly. Sitting in the dorm after a while, not moving, had caused her body to lose some of it's heat. Even if she was wrapped in a black hoodie and gray PJ pants. So, she came up with this great idea to get some hot chocolate. And here she was.

With a small smile, she made her way over to a table that occupied the heated kitchen and took a seat on a stool. She had only been there for a brief moment when a small house elf came rushing up to her. She smiled brightly down at the creature as she politely asked for some hot coco. The elf bowed and took off to get her what she had asked for. Ally's eyes began to wonder around the warm kitchens. It was quite an interesting place. She was surprised that she had never ventured down here before. It seemed like a place that she could easily come to like.

While tangled in her own thoughts, someone else had decided to make a stop down to the kitchens, but whom? At the sound of the door creaking open, Allison turned her hazel eyes to it, wandering who had come to join her.

James left the common room with a small sigh. He spent his time studying and was getting hungry. It surprised him that he was actually studying. When he went to muggle school he never studied yet he did alright. But the things they were learning at Hogwarts were way more interesting than muggle school.

He wondered to the hallways searching for the kitchen. He had been there once before but it was a while ago. He opened the door which creaked a bit. He stepped inside before closing the door behind him. He looked up and noticed a girl sitting at the table.

He walked a bit closer and a small smile formed on his face. He realized that the girl who was sitting there was Allison. He had met her on the train on his way over to Hogwarts. He got to talk to her for a while. Nobody else in there compartment was talking anyway....

He went up to the table where she was sitting. He took a seat on the stool next to her. "Hey Allison" James said with a small smile.

Allison looked a bit cold in her black hoodie. James looked down at what he was wearing. He just had a green shirt and some jeans on. He wasn't that cold especially not when he entered the kitchen which was really warm.

"Whats up?" he asked her attempting to make conversation. He looked up at the older girl waiting for her responce.

A smile automatically appeared across her lips as her eyes settled on who it was. James. She had only met him once and that had been on the train arriving at the school, but it was still good to see a familiar face. They had been the only two who had really opened their mouths to speak on that long journey so it was normal for her to only remember his face out of the many others who had been occupying the compartment.

"Hey James. How have you been?" The Mihael inquired as he drew nearer and took a seat next to her. Another cheerful smile lit up her features as he did so, glad to have someone to hold a conversation with. She noticed just then that he was in nothing but a shirt and jeans. Wasn't he cold? Not many of the other students around the castle seemed to be cold as she was. She frowned slightly at the thought. Oh well, she was warm and content and thats all the mattered at the moment.

Just then the elf returned fluidly with her drink, placing it in front of the third year before bowing and scurrying off to attend to what ever task had been at hand before her interruption. "Thanks," She stated gratefully as the elf departed. Allison then turned to her steaming cup of hot chocolate set in front of her. It looked delicious. She placed her hands on either side of the mug, warming them before turning her attention back to James, taking the cup in her grasp as she did so. "Nothing really," She replied, a shrug accompanying her words before she took a sip of her warm drink. It was delightful. "Yummy!" She said cheerfully with a brief laugh. "What about you?" She asked in return, taking another quick swig before placing back onto the surface of the table. "You hungry?" She then asked, not even thinking of the reason he might have traveled down here for.

"I've been good" said James with a small smile. "What about you?" he asked her looking at her for a moment.

A small house elf came and placed a drink in front of Allison. After he gave it to her he ran off. James watched him as he scurried away.

He watched Allison take a sip of her drink. He just grinned at her reaction. "Nothing Nothing" he said with a small shrug. Life hadn't been that interesting in the last couple of days.

"Yep!" he said looking around. A small house elf came up to him and asked him what he wanted. "Can i just get a sandwich" he asked the house elf. The house elf ran off and James turned his attention back to Allison.

"I've been good. A bit busy, but still..." She trailed off with a shrug. Remembering that James was a first year she figured she should ask how he liked the castle. "Like your classes so far?" She asked him, lifting her glass to her lips once again and taking another sip. The hot liquid warmed her up instantly, relaxing her stiff muscles after sitting up in the dorm for so long.

"Nothing Nothing"

Ally nodded at his reply. She knew all too well how he felt. The term had been rather uneventful and quite boring. Usually something occurred to spark some interested in the students but not this term. Too bad. Maybe she would ask Ashley to throw a winter party or something of that sort. A smile flickered to life across her face at the thought. Making a mental note to send the older student an owl, she turned her attention back to James. "Yeah, been kind of boring so far."

Allison watched with a smile as a house elf came scurrying up to fulfill his request. "Not in the mood for some weird magical treat?" She asked with a bright and teasing smile. Ally preferred the muggle food she had come accustomed to, rather than food from the magical world. Being a half blood had decided what kind of food she usually liked.

"Yeah their pretty cool" he said with a small shrug. He didn't really hate any classes. They were all pretty interesting. Especially when you compare them to what you learn in Muggle school.

"Nah just plain old muggle food for me" he said with a small grin. The house elf came back with the sandwich really fast. James was a bit surprised that the little house elf could move so fast.

James thanked him for the sandwich and took a small bite out of it. When he finished chewing he looked to Allison. He was going to ask her something but then he forgot. He continued to eat his sandwich as he attempted to remember.

Ally nodded. "Far more interesting than muggle school," She added, flashing a grin. She had only attended muggle school for a short period of time but in that time span, she had grown quite bored. Nothing had held her attention in the prison they called school.

Allison mirrored his grin as the house elf came running back, sandwich in hand. 'House elves are extremely fast,' the Mihael thought to herself as her hazel eyes watched the retreating back of the elf. She then turned her attention back to her steaming mug of hot chocolate. She lifted it from the tables surface and to her lips once more, taking a sip. Upon replacing it in it's original place, she pulled the sleeves of her hoodie so they rested around her hands. "So..." She began, casting her mind about for something to break the silence that had fallen upon them.

"What were you doing before you came down here?" She asked at random, nothing brilliant jumping out at her. Ally's eyes focused back on James as she blurted out the question without any real thought to it.
