Josie crumpled the letter between her fingers as she made her way up one of Hogwarts ever moving staircases. Paying no attention to where she was going she continued her inner rant. How could he do this and what was he thinking were the many phrases going around and around her head, along with some that shouldn't really be repeated!
Hot angry tears threatened to spill and she hated that it had come to this, Josie never cried and that was the only thing she wanted to do right now. She knew she was probably over reacting and the rational side of her brain was telling her she was being childish but she wanted to be childish right now, she wanted to scream and throw things and cry and be told that everything was going to be alright. But there was no one here to do that.
Stomping through a door that was slightly ad-jar she made a point of turning and slamming it purposefully shut. The loud bang and reverberating echo made her feel slightly better but her inner turmoil remained.
Throwing herself down on a plushy chair Josie took a deep breath before uncurling her fingers where the screwed up letter still lay. She smoothed out the crinkled parchment but couldn't bare to read its Contents. Once was quite enough and the sight of the curling script made her insides turn.
Throwing it down on the deep blue carpet Josie finally spared a thought for where she was. She was in a small room with few furnishings, there was a single bed pushed against one wall, a chest of drawers with a dolls house situated upon it, a toy box in one corner and a little bookcase in the other. A wardrobe stood against the wall by the window and a little set of doors led on to a small balcony.
Through the glass in the windows Josie could see that the sun was setting so it must be getting late, however in Hogwarts it was only midday at the latest.
A tear slid down Josie's cheek, she knew where she was. Somewhere she hadn't been in years, somewhere where she had felt safe and protected and was reassured that nothing bad would happen. This was a place before Hogwarts had even occurred to Josie.
She sighed she had begun to wish she had never received the letter to come to the school in the first place, she loved it here but she was lonely and the letter only served to prove she would be better off at home. Only it wasn't home, not really. It was just where she lived now.
The room she was currently sitting in was home, back in Italy where Josie had been born, where she'd lived with her Mother and Father and her Brothers happily for few precious years. More tears spilled from Josie's eyes and slid down her warm cheeks as she sat and just stared out the little window of her old bedroom.
