Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy (Alessa)

It's been awhile since Amanda has talked to Alessa, aside from their classes, so she reserved the next few hours to spend it with the Slytherin. There was so much she had to tell Alessa, and she could only imagine how much Alessa needed to share with her. Best friends, right? Well they were practically like sisters and Amanda felt deprived from talking to her for so long.

The remainder of her last term and break was spent with Holden or with her family. She's only talked to Nathaniel before the term ended, so she was out of the loop in his life and Alessa's. Guilty, she couldn't really shake it off, so she must do something about it. Writing a small little note and attaching it to her owl's leg, she watched as her it flew off from the owlery.

Amanda returned to the castle, heading into the Great Hall for a little snack for her grumbling tummy. An apple would do for now. She headed back outdoors and toward the school grounds, no where in particular at first, but she did mention in the note to Alessa to meet her down by the lake. Eventually her footsteps lead that way and she stopped underneath a tree and sat, resting her back against the trunk.

Today wasn't as terrible as the past couple of days, weather wise, instead the sun finally broke through storm clouds that have festered Hogwarts for a few days. Amanda was sure she was developing a cold, but she'd like not to think of it and hope it'd go away pretty quickly. Biting into her apple, her sapphire orbs looked around, hoping to see Alessa very soon.

Sitting up in her dorms, Droopy crystal blue orbs stared at her black cat as he slept. She yawned herself. She wondered to herself what this term would hold for her. She didn't know what to expect out of this. This seemed to be her last term as a student. Would it be a happy one? Or would it just be another miserable term for her? Yet time would only tell, she would just make the best out of whatever happened. At least she still had her friends.

Stroking her cat's soft furr, she smiled down at him. He softly purred to her strokes as she ran her hand up to the top of his head, scratching there for a moment. She smiled and kissed the top of his head and looked back out the window.

Fluttering down in Alessa's window, was Amanda's owl. She smiled and took the letter from its leg. Smiled to herself. For she hadn't really seen her best friend since that night she confessed her feelings for Nathaniel. Feeling inside of herself that she hid from the world, even from herself. Yet she couldn't hide it anymore. She couldn't hide the fact that she loved him with every fiber of her being.

Smiling to herself as she gathered herself, taking herself to meet her best friend Amanda. Dragging her feet till she reached the outskirts of the castle. Stepping outside. Her long black hair catching the wind, her eyes looked stressed and tired. Bringing herself closer till she seen her sitting under the tree waiting for her. She smiled to herself and walked over to her. "Hey girl" Alessa smiled and leaned down over her and hugged her. It seemed like ages since she hugged her best friend. "Its been a while huh?" she asked her smiling a bit.

Amanda hoped that Alessa would answer her owl and meet her down at the lake. She's heard of the whole situation from Nathaniel from last term when they met in the dungeons and how much he was torn inside between Alessa and Xiomara. Two of them she highly respected actually, even if she hadn't known Xiomara long enough, but Nathaniel spoke highly of her.

She just wished that Alessa wasn't taking things too hard with Nathaniel being distant. Amanda knew something would happen like this. He'd shut the world out and practically deteriorate himself to nothing more than an emotionless zombie that roams around the school grounds all depressed and dark. She's only seen him like that once.

Footsteps vibrated the ground close by and she felt the presence of another. Alessa came into sight and Amanda beamed up at her. Accepted the hug most gratefully, she patted the place right next to her. "Hullo Alessa," she said in a cheerful voice. It seems that one of them was more on the chipper side than the other, but hopefully Amanda could influence Alessa to see the brighter side of things.

"It has! I feel like we haven't seen each other for a year." She pouted her lips up at Alessa, which then turned into a smile. "How have you been though? I haven't seen you since last term nor during this break. But I can't say that I was innocent myself. Been quite busy with things." Amanda didn't hint what she was busy with or who, but eventually she'd share with Alessa.

Alessa was so happy to see Amanda. For it seemed to be too long since they seen each other last. For Amanda was one that she knew that she could always count on. Alessa couldn't help but to feel bad that she didn't talk to her as much as she should. Go to her when she was stressed. Especially about the whole Nathaniel thing. She knew that she should tell her about how she had always had feelings for him. And just hid it from the world even from herself until now.

Even though she still felt like it was a little too late to tell him how she felt. For she had a feeling, she wouldn't be the one he would pick in the end.

"It has! I feel like we haven't seen each other for a year." Alessa nodded as she sat next to her best friend. "How have you been though? I haven't seen you since last term nor during this break. But I can't say that I was innocent myself. Been quite busy with things." Alessa grinned a bit at her. Wondering what she meant by that.

Instead she would maybe tell her a little bit of what she was going threw. "How I am?" she asked. "Ive been alright, little stressed but other then that alright. Just going threw allot at the moment Amanda." She said with a heavy sigh. "Things just always seem to be too complicated for me to handle. Something I haft to tell you. I think I've made a mistake,I think i chased the best thing ever in my life away and I don't know what to do.." Alessa said as she looked over at her best friend. With so much stress behind those beautiful orbs of hers.
