Walking slowly out of the castle, Charlie shields his eyes from the light. It had been over a week since he had escaped the walls of the castle. Feeling the cold air sweep through the sleeves of the Ravenclaw robe he walked down a pathway from the gate. The grass was still green, as was the trees. It was nearing winter but the weather had only changed a small bit. Sneaking a glance as the clouds he saw no clouds filling the sky, which was odd. He shrugged it off and walked down the pathway again. Hearing of a maze at Hogwarts made Charlie excited. He had never gone through a maze before, so it would be his first time. He doubted his navigation abilities and knew he would lost as soon as he stepped in.
Finding the entrance to the maze, Charlie stepped into it. The bush closed behind him, startling him as it. "No way out." He commented after taking a few steps in. No turning back. He thought as he began to walk deeper into the maze. Feeling a bit weary of his decision to go into the maze he continued on, in hope to find an exit.

Stupid. Mazes were no longer fun. Muggle mazes never changed, did not trip you, or play horrible tricks on you. But this Hogwarts maze was torture, it was testing the abilities that she did not have. The first year had just gotten here and knew no spells thanks to her uncle who wanted the girl to learn all by herself.
Sinking to the ground the Mihael, Munelisa Vincine, leaned against the green bush wall and closed her eyes. Taking deep breaths, maybe a short rest would help. Take all the frustration of this maze out of here. The skinny girl had been in the maze for hours, her face and clothes had dirt stains from when a root popped out of no where and acted like a trip wire. And that hadn't only happened once.
Munelisa brown hair laid lazily on her head, strands covering her face and making her look like even more of a wreck. Slouching a little more against the bush the girl started to feel calmer, the sounds of the quiet nature, the nice chilling air. Mun started to drift off in the middle of the maze.

Ashleigh saw a boy in the maze and thought hard. She was just checking that none of the patterns had changed in the maze, which they hadn't. He'd get lost soon enough though. She put her hand his shoulder.
"Thinking of getting lost, mate?"
She smiled and looked up at the sky to see it was still pretty early in the day. She grinned.
"If you are then I'll stick around with you. After all you don't wanna be in here forever."
Tumbling throughout the maze, Charlie felt excited. His first maze! However, no matter how much excitement he had there was this constant fear in his stomach. He knew he would be lost sooner than ever. So far Charlie had turned three times, once right, twice left. And with those turns he had forgotten the trick of getting back to the starting line.
Okay, He thought, When you turn left, you go left to get back? No! Right! But then... His body soon froze as he felt a hand place itself on his shoulder. Jumping as a reaction he heard someone speak.
"Oh..." He breathed, relieved at hearing another voice. Charlie tried to laugh at a reaction to getting lost in the maze forever but decided not to. It would be scary to get lost in maze forever. "Um, I didn't think of getting lost, but with me, it happens." He finally replied, trying to stay calm.
You're not fooling anyone. He told he insecure self. "How about we go.." He took a look around. Seeing the only way to go was straight he pointed forward, sighed, and finished, "that way."
Starting to walk forward Charlie thought he saw another person in the maze ahead of himself, but decided against saying anything until he could get a clear view.

( do you mind terribly if i join in? I don't want to mess up your thread if it does bother you, just tell me and I'll erase my reply and leave. is it alright with you?)
I walked slowly, the tell-tale thuds of my own footsteps sounding deafening in this quiet haven. I ran my hand along the leafy hedges that made up the whole maze. Fog licked at my heels with ghostly fingers that clung to my clothes, a bi-product of the magic that caused the maze to grow so fast, one of the older students had told me when I had asked one day in the common room. I shuddered in my light sweatshirt, magic or not, it was still as eerie as the real thing. I stepped on a twig and it snapped, the sound roaring across the expanse of the maze. My breath caught in my throat as I looked wildly around, underneath the loud snap and the constant thudding of my own footsteps I had heard another set of feet working their way along the trail somewhere near to me. I didn't take my wand out as I slowly edged to the turn up ahead where I had heard the noise from. I knew that if there was anyone in here that wished me harm I would've been dead already. Being a weak little first year as I was, but just because I was weak and defenseless didn't mean I was a coward.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" I asked in a barely audible whisper that echoed off the hedges to spread all the way to the something up ahead of me.
Her leg twitched when it felt something brush by it, slowly Munelisa's eyes opened once again. She tilted her head to see what had touched her leg, her brown eyes widening when she saw the moving root. The thirteen year old scrambled to her feet as quick as she could, lifting her feet in the air and dancing over the moving root that was attempting to catch her by the ankle.
"Gah..! What are you doing?!" Munelisa said to the brown squiggling root. It didn't take long before her slender body ended up on the ground again with a root wrapped around her ankle. Sitting up she noticed that the root was no longer moving, with her fingers Munelisa attempted to pry at it. Giving up she leaned back, trying to think back to some sort of spell or charm to loosen strangling items.

I heard a muffled yell up ahead. It sounded like someone was in trouble! I ran up, my previous fear forgotten as I rushed to help whoever it was. There were a bunch of frightening things in this maze as I'd been told by a older student who thought it would be funny to joke around with the younger kids, at first I hadn't believed him, but now, now I wasn't so sure.
I came up to where I had thought the yell had come from and, sure enough, there was a girl about my age there, struggling with what seemed to be a root of one of the hedges. I racked my brain for a spell, any spell that would help. I had studied the standard book of spells from front to back and there was no spell within my limitations that a first year could inflict on the hedge. Not good.
It was starting to pull her, struggling madly, under the hedge. That wouldn't do at all. I wondered if the hedge hated light or maybe I could unlock it from her? I had no idea. Oh well, I might as well try.
"Zephyrim Locomae!" I shouted. It was a spell quite like wingardrium leviosa but this spell controlled the wind to levitate a person not just a thing. We were outside so there should've been plenty of wind to levitate the girl from the hedge's reach. At least i hoped. If worst came to worst I'd just shoot red sparks form my wand. But then the others in the common room would be teasing me about how I'd had to get myself rescued from the maze. No, I wasn't going to shoot up red sparks, maybe for her, but I'd rather die of starvation lost in the maze than face the others as a coward. A little extreme but I was a very stubborn and extreme girl.
Munelisa let out a little yelp as she was lifted into the air, her arms flailed around a little as she tried to keep her balance. Which was kinda impossible since she was in the air and really had no balance there. Brown hair flipped into her face, and she spit it out before looking for the caster of the spell. Through the brown hair she saw a girl with her wand out and pointed at her.
"Uhhh..." Pushing hair out of her eyes, Munelisa looked down at her ankle where the root had wrapped itself around her. The brown root was still curled around it but it was not tugging her under the bush. Attempting to sit up in mid air Munelisa began to try and loosen the root from her ankle. Failing miserably she turned her head to look at the girl.
"Do you know anything that could loosen its grip?" She breathed to the girl, one hand on the root the other trying to keep her upright in the air by waving around as if she was treading water.
