I walk alone {(Bryce)}

[Kaley Prellop]

Kaley shivered and pulled her cloak closer around her. For once in her life, the older Slythie wanted to get lost, to feel the panic swell within her. She wasn't sure why, but she needed it. Maybe it would help her clear her head... She pulled her cloak up around her ears, partially covering her newly dyed hair. She didn't know many people, so no one could comment on it.

Kaley turned around as she hit a dead end. She took a deep breath and exhaled, seeing her breath. It had recently started getting colder at night, and it was past dark. If the moon wasn't out, Kaley would've had to light her wand. But seeing as it was, she walked slowly along the paths to avoid tripping, shivering occasionally.

Kaley took her attention from the ground for one moment, and felt her foot slip under a root. She noticed it just too late, and fell forward. She caught herself with her hands, but felt her wrist bend a little too far backwards. She quickly relieved the pressure from her wrist and rolled over, sitting on the ground. She held her wrist for a moment, allowing the pain to overwhelm her.

Bryce was wondering around doing nothing. He walked to the maze and wonder around. He then looked and saw one of his friends Kaley Prellop. He walked over to her and smiled "What'cha doing?" he asked her as he walked up to her behind her back. He looked around and then back to her again. "Do you want to go and get lost and get scared at the same time?" he asked her as he grinned at her this time.

Kaley turned as a familiar voice spoke form behind her. It was Bryce, though she wasn't sure how he had recognized her from behind. To his question about what she was doing, she replied, "Sitting on the ground, holding my wrist that I think I just sprained. How about you?" she asked, her tone filled with mock cheer. She knew he would be able to tell she had been serious about her wrist, but joking about the happiness. Well, if he didn't pick up on it, he was a complete idiot...

When he asked if she wanted to get lost and scared at the same time, she froze. How could he know what she was feeling? Was he some kind of phsycic or something? It was the only thing that made sense, but she doutbed that. Instead she replied as she stood up slowly, taking care not to move her wrist. "What could make you think that?" Her tone wasn't cold, but actually showed a l,ittle fear behind it, though she'd tried to hide it.

Bryce walked over to her and bent down "Are you ok?" he asked her as he hoped that she would be. He then saw that she had gotten up "Do you want to go back to the Hospital Wing?" he then asked her as he hoped that she would say yes and that she could get her wrist checked out.

He looked back to her again "I just felt like getting lost in the maze and I was just wondering if you wanted to go with me" he then told her. He looked at her and thought about how different she was. It just hit him right then "Hey did you changed your hair color and all?" he then asked her.

Kaley sighed as she decided if she wanted to go to the Hospital Wing. She didn't like showing people she was in pain, but it was still throbbing, and hurt worse whenever she moved it. Sighing she decided she would probably have to. "I'm fine. But I guess I probably should go... If we ever get out, that is." She had to add in the last part. The Slythie got lost in the maze quite a bit, and it always took a while to get out.

Just before Kaley was about to respond to his comment about how he came up with the idea, he continued about her hair hair color. Unable to hold it back, she laughed for a moment. When she regained her composure, she answered him. "You just noticed?" Her voice wasn't cruel like it normally was, but surprisingly happy, even though she was still in pain. "I was sick of it. Too many people had the same color and cut, so I changed it..." She rocked back and forth on her feet a little, anxious to start finding the exit.

Bryce grinned at her "Come on" he told her as he took her hand and walked out of the maze. When they gotten out of the maze he let go of her hand "So do you want to go to the Hospital Wing now?" he asked her as he still grinned at her.

He then watched her laugh at him. Man that wasn't vary nice of her to do that to him. He just helped her out ofthe maze. Maybe he should just put her back into the maze and let her figure out how to get out of it. A evil grinn spreed his face. Just the thought about him doing that to her made him laugh. He knew for a fact that she would hate him.

"Come on" he told her as he walked away from her and walked towards the hospital wing so Kaley can be checked at. He had hope that she wasn't to hurt. He bit his lower lip and then stoped and turned around "Are ya coming?" he asked her as he waited for her to catch up to him.
