Jeebus ! First journal entry. My parents bought this for me as a "going away" gift when I first left Montréal for London to remind me of home. It is a big slice of home, in my opinion, seeing as it's in french. It is a bit strange speaking english everywhere, but since my grandmother only spoke english, I think I can manage the full seven years here.

Back on topic. So! The castle. Huge. Gigantic. No real words to describe how much history and great this place is. I've gotten lost numerous times, but a few upperclassmen call it apart of the experience. It's just giving me a headache.

I've also been sorted into Ravenclaw. Apparently the characteristic for being in Ravenclaw is intelligence. I never thought I had too much intelligence, but you know, I guess that creepy sorting hat knows all. I've been getting used to the fact that my house will not change and there are different houses and not just Ravenclaw. There were also a few students I met that thought that they didn't belong in that particular house, but you know.

Afterwards, I was snooping around like the little crook I am and I met a few people. I never thought I would meet any one so quickly. The first girl I met on my first day was someone named Mica. She's from Slytherin [the ...cunning?], I believe. We were both equally lost... or at least, I was. I don't know how long she was there. We went body snatching... or searching for civilization. For some reason, there hadn't been many wanderers in the school, so...

I also met someone else by the name of Karissa. She had crazy hair. It was a brown and pink curly wild hair which I was quite jealous of. Oh well, I'll stick with my locks for now. We hung around the Lake [Walker's...? I think that's what they named it.]. We talked about the creatures of the deep. I think she said she was in the house of Mihael.

And now, I'm here. Stuck writing in this great journal of home. Too bad that I have to go.

La date aujourd'hui? 13-14/4/09

Rather tiring day. I don't know what time it is and I'm ready to zone out. To me, it was a rather cruddy day in the life. Maybe, if I write a dozen Z's, I can prove my point. It was rather an uneventful and dumb day. I kind of regrette that I cannot relive it.

I tried to write to home today, but I never sent it. It was a lame excuse for a letter... So, I'm thinking about writing a new one eventually. They're probably going to be bummed that I haven't spoke to them in over two months.

Ugh, these beds are really uncomfortable... and my pen is running out of ink.

Pencil works fine too.

Though, I don't want to say it, I kind of miss home. And not just my grandmother's place, but home home. Y'know, the place I lived before this. Nobody here really is interested in what I have to say anyways. All I can do is hope for the best.

Well, maybe it's just my exhaustion talking. Maybe things will get better in a couple of terms when Matheu shows up. I won't feel so wound up anymore. =]

So, things are sort of looking up. I met a couple of people, today which is rather excitiing. Upon meeting new people, I found a couple of new rooms that I'll probably spending most of my time at. Speaking of new rooms. Shoot, I haven't wrote my parents back yet!

They're probably hyperventilating by now. Maybe if I'm lucky, my grandmother wrote them telling them that I'm fine and I made it here okay. Likely chance... not. Yeah, I better go do that. Sorry. Short blog today. I'll try to do better next time! D:

I don't know what to think right now. I've done so many things it's hard to think. But, it's one of those nights where you can't help but to feel sick to your stomach. I don't know why. I'm really confused on what to think.

I love Hogwarts and all, but I don't know if I'm homesick or I'm just sick of introducing myself and not seeing familiar faces. I tried to mail my parents today. It was helpful in a way. Just to get these homesick blues out of the way.

Who knows. Maybe I'll actually get a letter back. I doubt it... Like they'd have time to mail me back and they'd know the address. Oh well. I'll get over it. Maybe I'll make a few friends to hang out with for the rest of my schooling career and well, I'd get over this bridge.

In the mean time, I hope these things pass. Classes are going to start soon and I need to get studying anyway.

T'is been awhile, hasn't it? Technically, it's not my fault! There's just so much that has happened between now and the last time I've written.

The Ravenclaw house hasn't gotten much better. Apparently, you must answer a riddle in order to get through the portrait. Who does that? I'm not learning anything important through these riddles. Especially the one about the flutterby. C'est ridicule!

Let's see... This guy, Hayden and I found the Room of Requirement from the library. That was fairly interesting. That place supplies so much, just for the cluster of books and things that's supplied. C'est bon. We ended up getting as many bowls of ice cream we could eat... Ugh, I don't think I'm eating ice cream for awhile! Oh well, it was a good time.

I also met a guy named Jasper. We ended up going down the Great Hall together when I was sending my letter to Matheu. He's pretty nice. He's very formal though. I tried to relearn everything that my parents taught me on manners, but I don't think I did so hot. :/ Oh well. Perhaps I'll see him again to make up for it.

Speaking of letters and the Owlery, I recieved a letter back from Matheu! Surprisingly, it only took a couple days [or weeks, whatev.] So, he basically said that Genevieve and Gaston are probably muggles for sure. They're still too young to determine, however. I'm just hoping that they're not twin wizard/witch. That means that they would have to come here when Matheu is here... I don't want him to go through with that... I can barely stand them at home!

Plus, he said that Mama and Pops are fighting again. I'm sure they'll get over it in the long run. I'm betting it's over something stupid...

P.S. By the way, Matheu sent this old picture along with his letter. It was back when I had blonde hair and we were watching Gaston and Genevieve at this creepy mattress warehouse in the toy room.

I bought a kitten! His name is Apollo. He's adorable, but a handful. I haven't gotten much sleep since I got him, but once he does sleep, then it settles down from there. I'll include a picture one day of him.

On the way, I met a girl named Katherine. She was in Ravenclaw too. We're supposed to hang out, but it started raining the day we were. Perhaps when there aren't any classes. Classes! They start soon. It's kind of overwhelming, but not bad. I'm a little afraid of what's going to happen. Hopefully, I don't start off horrifically... don't think that's a word, but we'll go with it.

I've met a few other people now that I think about it. I accidently knocked down a girl named Ophelia. Man, it took me awhile to think of her name. We ended up staying on the floor from there, which was different.

Another girl I tripped over [yeah, I'm getting clumsy. Perhaps this whole magic thing isn't good for me at all. Can I go home now?] another girl named Charlotte. She wanted me to call her Charlie, so I do. We ended up talking about flying unicorns and muggle contraptions. Fun fun. Cool.

Crap. Apollo is scratching up my pillow. Gotta go!

Personally, I don't see why their fighting. That's really ridiculous that they would leave Mathieu in charge of their relationship. What seriously happened that they had to start fighting once I was away? Was it necessary? Was it my fault that they resisted anger when I was around? Was it the twins fault ['cause, honestly, I could see why]? I'm sure Mathieu had nothing to do with it. It's just a bummer that he has to put up with it.

I can't wait until next term. That way, he'd be in London and I could see him whenever I want. I wouldn't be alone in this castle filled with people I don't even know. Not really, anyway. They're all strangers to me. The only thing I know of is their outer personality. No real best friends like what my grandmother promised. 'Oh, you'll make friends that will last forever' she'd say, or 'You'll never want to leave.'

I want to leave. I want to go home. But, wishing and wanting isn't going to make it happen. It's going to make me an idiot. So, for now, I'll just put up with it and hope for the best. Hopefully Mr. and Mrs. Grumpy will get over this and move on.
