Day 1 10.27.09
Arrived at Trio's to little fanfare. I was expecting there to be much more something, not sure what I expected really, but I suppose that is because of the beginning of the new term. I am sure as the term progresses things will pick up. Right now Ianxiously await my turn for sortment. (I suppose that is what it is called). They sort us into these "houses" as I understand it. As a way to somehow define who we are, group us with like minded individuals. I doubt I will have much house loyalty as I just want to be a student here. Regardless of house, every one of us is united under the banner of student. But I shall soon be sorted nonetheless and next time I write I will have a new classification to inform you of.
Classes start soon. That I am anxious to see, to learn, and to compare to those of my muggle schooling. That word seems so odd to me, muggle. I suppose because it classifies me as something. I have always just thought of myself as an individual, yearning to live, learn, exist.
I am ready to explore the grounds, see what this place has to offer. From first impressions this is definitely nothing like anything I have ever seen before. The people certainly are curious enough. Robes and funny looking hats? I suppose I will have to get used to them at some point.
I will have to remember to write to my sister. I guess I will take care of that once I get sorted and classes get started. Hopefully the course load isn't too heavy here. But I suppose if you have to do something, do it right and do it the best you can.
Until next time.
Alex
The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.
