It was the right thing to do. (Straw)

While she might live in a castle made of rock, she didn't live under one. Carina had heard the news that was spreading through Britain. People dissapearing, returning looking like a bus had run over them, no memory whatsoever. Nor was she stupidly thinking that she wasn't one of them. She knew she was. As much as she wished differently.

Only three days ago she had left the park she had found herself in and returned to the school. In those three days, she had fallen back into what she assumed was routine. It was nice to have something to do with her time. She hadn't bothered with charms to cover her injuries and though she caught the students staring when they thought she wasn't looking, no one asked her about it. It was there that she had heard the news that was happening around them. It was there that Carina knew what she had to do. It wasn't something she was looking forward to do, but it had to be done. If the Ministry was going to do anything about it, they had to know everything, right?

So it was with a heavy mind that Carina, dressed in jeans and a plain black shirt, crossed the lobby of the Ministry. The lift took her straight to the third floor. Stopping at a bench just after the lift, Carina shifted her bag from her shoulder. An auror's business card. That was a good place to start as any. She figured that she had to have at least spoken to the guy at some point.

Walking up to the lady sitting at a desk, Carina assumed some sort a secretary, she spoke. "Yes, I'm looking for..." Carina paused and glanced at the card "Straw Buckett."

It had been a long month. The recent crime wave of attacks and lost memories was running the man off his feet. The recent abduction of Nathan, attack on Kelly and the new possibility Ivy was involved had left Straw exhausted. He didn't know what to feel anymore. Over run at work, terrified for this family and friends, guilt ridden by Kelly's attack and worried about Nathan's where abouts, it was amazing how his hair managed to stay blond and not turn grey.

"Yes, that's me, How can I help you" replied the tall, blue eyed blond man who was now in the middle of reading papers when he'd heard his name. Straw was yet to look up and identify the voice. "Have a seat," he replied over the papers, wanting to finished the paragraph he was on before looking up at his visitor. "Be, with, you, in a moment," Had Straw realised his half sister sat opposite him he may have not taken so long to respond.

"Carina?" he finally blurted out feeling silly for not looking up in the first place. "Long time no see." surprised she'd come to see him. He had not seen her since the birth of his children but never thought much about it as they both seemed to lead reasonably busy with lives. "And what do I owe such a visit?" he smiled having no clue that the dear thing had lost her memory.

Before the woman she was speaking to could answer, the man in question spoke up. Though he hadn't looked up from his work yet, Carina smiled at the woman and made her way to his desk. Taking a seat as he asked, Carina waited until he had time for her. While she waited, she studied the man. It was then that she realized that she did indeed know him. In her quarters at the school Carina had found hundreds of photo albums. This man had been in a great deal of her photos. That made two people now in the albums that she had seen. Him and the blond at the park with the lovely children.

Mr. Buckett finally looked up and thankfully seemed to know her. That, perhaps, would make things easier. And whatever they had been to each other, they seemed to be on good terms. That was helpful as well. He asked her about why she was there. Well, of course, he did. It was her fault that she wasn't prepared for such a normal question. She paused, chewing on one of the rings that pierced her lip as she pondered how to answer.

"Perhaps it would be easier to show you, then explain." Carina drew her wand from her sleeve and waved it in front of her own face, muttering as she did so. This act caused the charms she had on to drop, revealing the cuts and bruises and the general run-over-by-a-bus look that she had had since waking up in the park three days ago.

"You see, I came around and found my self looking like this in Organic Park three days ago. I have heard about the same thing happening to others, along with memory loss. Which I'm afraid to say, I have as well. I know that I should know you, as I had your card, and I have plenty of pictures of you. But other than your name and face, I haven't a clue. For that matter, had it not been for things I found in my bag which was with me at the park, I wouldn't know who I was."
