Queety was a little too busy trying to catch her breath that she was unable to respond at first. Her heart was racing from the adrenaline pumping through her veins. She has had her fair share of experience kissing guys with her small repertoire of past boyfriends but nothing compared to what she had just experienced in that moment with Straw. His rough lips, the tickle of his facial hair against her skin, the taste of his breath, it was had sent her wild. Her fingers were still deeply tangled in Straw's hair, though she was unsure of what point they ended up there, some point during the kiss she was sure. She let her eyes lock with his as she took deep breaths to calm herself down.
"Just like that," she laughed. "Straw, I don't think either of us expected any of this happening to be honest. But you know what? I'm perfectly fine with it." Now that the leap had been taken and it was clear that both sides had very strong feelings for each other, Queety was so grateful that she did not hold herself back and that she did not hold her feelings at bay. The jokes, the touches, the flirting which they thought was a joke but maybe not so, the hugs that lingered just a little longer than before, the smiles that made each other's hearts beat faster, all of that which had been going on for months lead up to this particular moment. And while she thought her actions were clearly conveying the message, she figured she'd be clear with follow up words, too.
"I really still do fancy you, Straw Buckett," she said with a smile. "And while I'm perfectly happy and honored to be your best friend, I would love for us to be more than that. I absolutely adore you."
The movie was finished on the laptop and the final credits were rolling but they did not not pay any mind to that. Queety took advantage of the fact that her hands were still in Straw's hair to pull his head closer in for another kiss. This time she kissed him harder, allowing her lips to fully consume him. While he had been a little more gentler before, it was too much of a tease and now Queety found herself wanting all of Straw. She leaned closer, pushing him down so that she was now lying on top of him. She could feel the curves of her body pressed against his as the stimulation sent signals from all over her body to her brain. It all felt like a dream but yet it was real. She reached for his hand and held it tight as their lips continued their dance. And soon after, they crossed that line of no return, where they could no longer be just friends. But there were no regrets.
Later that evening, they laid in the pillow fort together. Their onesies laid forgotten over to the side. Queety glanced up at Straw with raised eyebrows. "So...." she muttered with a nervous chuckle. "What do we do when Kat or Kelly ask us what we did all weekend?"
